Equal parts sleepy, mellow and happy
I’m good at making friends.
I’m like a fashion chameleon! 🙂 Mostly, I’m a jeans/tank top kinda girl with a penchant for funky shoes and costume jewelry, but I’m also comfy in preppy clothes, retro ’40s or edgy clothes, too. It really depends.
Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lipgloss in Kirk ($19)
Down, with side-swept bangs and soft waves
Skinny jeans, navy blue tank top, silver hoop earrings and black high heel sandals
Freelance writer, part-time blogger
I like that they give me an excuse to talk to strangers and to express my creative side.
I wish the work was more predictable and steady. I can never tell how many freelance assignments I’m going to get in a given month.
To start working some push-ups into my daily routine, to take a couple 10-minute walking breaks throughout the day, to get to bed by a decent hour every night and to squeeze in a couple cheesy Lifetime movies on TV
What’s up, girls?
What happened to the weekend? I swear it was just Friday night! I’m not quite ready for today…

How’s it going, girls? What are you up to?
Did you see any movies this weekend? I saw a hilarious, campy Bachelor parody on Lifetime called I Want to Marry Ryan Banks, LOL! It’s starring Jason Priestly, who appears to have stopped aging in 1990.
Right now El Hub and I are off to catch X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
I asked Tabs if he wanted to come with us, but he’s busy looking for his signature scent. He’s not a fan of spicy perfumes like Clinique Aromatics Elixr, which he described as “sketchy.”
He’s more a J’adore kind of cat.

Mine was learning (the hard way) not to use a blow dryer every day.
At one point I had hair crispier than a bucket of the Colonel’s Kentucky Fried. It was awful!
These days, I air dry and limit blow drying to once a week. Now my hair feels healthier, for sure.
How about you? What’s the best lesson you ever learned about caring for your hair?

Kim Kardashian (born Kimberly Noel Kardashian on October 21, 1980 in Los Angeles, California), caused quite a stir on the interwebz last week with her new, caramel-colored ‘do.
It was hard to imagine her with something other than her trademark long, dark hair, but it turns out Kimmy didn’t actually take the plunge into J.Lo Land — The blonde hair was actually a wig she’d worn for a photo shoot.
Kim hasn’t been a big risk taker with her hair color, but she’ll switch up her overall look from time to time with bangs and curls.

I *wish* I had Mariah Carey on speed dial because I’d ask her if she had something to do with the name Bath & Body Works gave to their new limited edition spring fragrance line.
Doesn’t Butterfly Flower sound like something she would have come up with? 🙂
You know, she has that obsession with butterflies, rainbows, Hello Kitty, glitter and all things fourth grade that makes me wonder (still lovin’ ya, Mimi!). Hmm…
I don’t know about you, but I always look forward to new BBW fragrance releases because I never know what to expect.
New for spring, products in the Butterfly Flower fragrance collection of gels, lotions, baths and creams ($5-$30 each) pack notes of freesia, mimosa flower and honeysuckle. Those are what I detect, but here’s the company’s official breakdown of the fragrance:
Butterfly Flower
Top notes: Black tea, tangerine, cyclamen (a flower), banana leaf
Middle notes: Orchid, Asian syringa flower, French mimosa
Base notes: Creamy coconut milk, musk
BBW’s floral blends can sometimes overwhelm my sensitive nose, some even smelling overly synthetic on my skin. I usually prefer their crisp, clean scents like Rainkissed Leaves, but Butterfly Flower is lighter than most of their floral fare.
I’ve been testing three of the items from the 16-piece collection…

As spring blossoms, I find myself reaching for heavy winter fragrances less often than I did a couple months ago. I feel like it’s time for lighter, fresher scents like DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom, a limited edition spring fragrance with notes of grapefruit, French cassis (black currant), apricot, muguet (Lily of the Valley), rose, jasmine and apple.
How about a giveaway?
One lucky lady will win a 3.4-oz bottle of DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom eau de parfum spray (a $70 value).
The bottle is sure to brighten up your bedroom dresser. 🙂
If you’re a regular reader, you know we do it, girl. There are a couple ways to enter, and you can do both of them for two chances to win.
First, enter by leaving a comment at the bottom of this post. In it, tell me what fragrances you’ve been wearing this spring.
I’ve been wearing Estee Lauder pretty much non-stop! — Pleasures Baie Rose Body Splash and Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia.
Second, you can also enter by subscribing to my updates by email (if you haven’t already). They’re once-a-day emails with my daily posts featuring beauty product reviews, drugstore beauty tips, makeup tutorials and incredibly useful pictures of my cat, LOL!
(Note: if you’re already subscribed, you’re automatically entered to win.)
I’ll pick the winner at random from among the people who enter by 11:59PM PST Sunday night.
Bona fortuna!

Good morning, ladies! I hope your weekend got off to a good start. I’m not sure what I’ve got going on today, which is good in that it probably means there’s nothing I absolutely HAVE to get done.
For this post I’ve done a quick video (click here for the video) showing how I curl my eyelashes. I apologize for not putting up any videos lately, but I’ll get back into the habit again.
Enjoy your weekend! Let me know what you’re up to.
