Urban Decay Spring 2012 Is Drawing All Writers With Lots of Pretty Pencils

January 6th, 2012 by Karen 36 Comments

Urban Decay Spring 2012

Urban DecayWrite on, Urban Decay. 🙂

I love holding the pencils in your new 13-piece spring 2012 collection over a blank page in my sketchbook and pretending they’re art supplies.

Of course, I don’t actually touch the page with ’em, but I’m soooo tempted…

Coming soon to Sephora stores, Ulta, urbandecay.com and select Macy’s stores, the collection features eight 24/7 Concealer Pencils (with four new shades for darker damsels), three full-size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils (sold individually) and two new Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Colors.

I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about the feel of a good pencil in my hands.

Here are swatches and pics! Reviews coming soon.

In other beauty news…

ChloeChloé fragrance fans, here’s some cool news. The line’s launching a new scent for spring called L’Eau de Chloé, arriving mid-February. No word yet on the notes, but from this teaser video, it looks like something fresh and grassy.

Let’s hope it doesn’t make me want to pop a Zyrtec. 🙂

NARSFellow NARS nixies, the company just posted two more spring tidbits on their Facebook page, hot pink Mexican Rose Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil, and the Trio Eyeshadow in Douce France, with a shimmery icy pink, a shimmery rose-petal pink and a deep matte rose.

I’m not sure about the pink on my eyes (might make me look like I’ve been crying), but I’m all over that Lip Pencil!

Benefit CosmeticsAnd in Benefit news, the brand’s introducing a new liquid golden bronze highlighter called Sun Beam ($26) that looks very promising…

Here’s to hoping for sunshine in a bottle. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Very excited! I love the concealer pencil, but the shade best for me right now is just a bit too pale. It’ll be nice to have more options!

      Hi Cait,

I’m gonna test those out tonight and tomorrow! Will you be using the concealer for your under-eye area?

      Happy Friday!

Those concealer pencils look very interesting and I’m so happy to see Perversion again… I love super black liners. Oh, and Mexican Rose?! I’m all over it. 😉

Hey Karen, do you know if Perversion and Woodstock are going to be permanent or only available for a limited time?
On another note, I really like how that NARS lip liner looks! I have one in Dolce Vita and the color, texture, and wear are all really nice.

      Hi Isabel,

I’ve heard Perversion is perm; I’ll have to check on Woodstock!

W00t I’ve been waiting for a full-size Perversion for so long! I was really tempted by that anniversary pencil set but couldn’t justify it, since I had so many of the other colors already. I got the Electric travel-size set so I at least have it (and Woodstock!) in a mini, but it’ll be nice not having to worry about conserving it!

I’ll have to get over to Sephora to try out the concealers as well. I can’t remember why I never liked UD’s, maybe they didn’t have my color before (I am GHOSTLY pale. My boyfriend’s mother says I am the whitest Chinese person she has ever seen), so we’ll see!

      Hi Melodie,

That’s rad that you can pull off Woodstock. I have a rough time with pink liner. How do you usually rock it?

I usually do at least a thin line of black liner closest to the lashes first or else I find I look possessed D:

I actually bought it because it was the perfect shade for my costume for New York Comic Con. I went as Star Sapphire (from Green Lantern if you’re unfamiiar) and her costume is a really bright shade of magenta/fuchsia/pink. I used UD’s Super Saturated Lip Color in Crush for the lip. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/294134_2236023503508_1335570046_32291357_1541062274_n.jpg

I wish to high heaven they would release Perversion as a full sized pencil and make it permanent. Sheesh….

    That NARS trio looks exciting!

The Lovechild lipcolor looks really pretty. The NARS trio also looks interesting though I would probably hate the icy pink color.

Woooooodstock. I have nothing like that in my stash. Perversion, on the other hand, I can’t justify buying as I rarely use black liner and still have…three Zero pencils? Perhaps it’ll get included in a palette I like. 😀
