Tabs locked himself in my office a few hours ago and hasn’t been out since. It must be something serious because he didn’t even come out when I opened him a can of gravy for dinner.
I know it has something to do with the movie he went to this afternoon, Steven Spielberg’s War Horse. When Tabs got home he looked like he’d been crying, so I asked him what happened, but he just brushed past me, ran upstairs and slammed the office door. A few minutes later I got a text on my phone that said, “Hold all my calls. I’m writing a fan letter to Joey the horse.”
The movie is a real tearjerker (I cried my eyes out, too), and Tabs has always worked well with horses, so I can’t say I’m surprised. One of his best friends is a bay named Star that he worked with on the Urban Decay Cowboy Junkie campaign.
I’m sure Tabs will come downstairs soon… I can’t imagine him going to bed without at least a little gravy in his tum.
Work-wise, Tabs was pretty busy again this week. He did a lot of flying, too, first to Greece for a Smashbox campaign and then to New Zealand for a quick Gucci shoot.
Yup, that’s how it is for kitty supermodels. Always on the go. 🙂
Who is Tabs the Cat? About three years ago I befriended a stray, flea-bitten tabby cat with a bad case of worms. I could see he’d fallen on hard times, but his profound knowledge of high fashion and department store cosmetics led me to believe that he was more than meets the eye. We became fast friends, and now he’s actually my boss (and a successful kitty model). 🙂

I would never be able to go see War Horse. I can handle any kind of scene with people in jeopardy (to a point), but even the slightest hint of animals in peril, forget it … I’m a complete wreck!
Heidi, I am right there with you on the animals in peril thing. If the film even starts off with an animal, esp. cat or dog, I KNOW something bad’s gonna happen and I can’t watch.
Oh, good for you for seeing War Horse in the theater. I couldn’t do it – I knew I’d be a wreck and would ruin the movie for everyone else there, with my sobbing! I’ll be blubbering at home when it’s on netflix. 🙂
