Next Stop: The Chanel Knightsbridge Collection’s Pink, Coral and Fuchsia Lippies in Chelsea, Kensington and Hyde Park

January 18th, 2012 by Karen 37 Comments

Pink, coral and Chanel. Three little words that when spoken together trigger my drool resthponthe.

Oh! — there I go. Got a little drool on my chin. 🙂

The lovely lippies in the new five-piece Chanel Knightsbridge Collection, an online-only exclusive, are enough to make this grown woman quiver in her tweed jacket and pearls. Oh, and pip-pip, cheerio! The gossamer Glossimer and three saturated Rouge Allure Lipsticks in pink, coral and fuchsia are named after some of London’s most iconic neighborhoods.

Today, I tantalized my senses, trying on two of the lipsticks and the gloss…

Clockwise from the blush: Poudres Tissée Highlighting Powder and Blush in Brompton Road, Rouge Allure in Hyde Park and Rouge Allure in Kensington

The Glossimer in Chelsea

Swatches from the left: Chelsea, Kensington and Hyde Park

The Glossimer in Chelsea

Rouge Allure Lipsticks in Hyde Park and Kensington ($32 each)

Might I be so bold as to ask the way to Hyde Park? Yes, I might. 🙂 These two bold, bright lippies are all kinds of right. Vibrant coral pink Hyde Park and fuchsia Kensington both feel light, smooth and moisturizing on my lips. And the satiny finish gives them an elegance that seems so very Angelina (post-Billy Bob, of course) to me. Expect to have to reapply after bangers and mash, but you should be fine if you’re just having Earl Grey. love Love.
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

Glossimer in Chelsea ($28.50)

Oh, behave! This super sheer hot pink looks and behaves like two lipglosses I remember from the summer of 2010. Do you remember the Fluos? From Les Pop-Up de Chanel? I can see Chelsea’s petite pigment irking some, but it sure shines (pun intended) on top of Kensington (and Hyde Park!). Darned thing is spendy for a gloss, especially one this sheer, but if you’ve been aching to bring home something from Knightsbridge, Chelsea is the least expensive piece.
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A

Feline Fury…

Tabs threw a fit this afternoon when I told him he’d have to prepare his own gravy.

Nooooo!

Sorry, tabby, but tonight I’m driving into the city to visit Annie and the other Benefit babes at the Benefit store on Chestnut Street. They’re hosting a launch party for their new foundation, Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow.

Your gravy, my liege, will just have to wait. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. We’ve reached the top of the hump! That means it’s all smooth sailing from here… Hope you had a great day. I’ll be back soon.

Oh my goodness! Those lipsticks are to die for! You look really great in Kensington. I don’t know which I like better but I think it might be Hyde Park. 😀

I was at the Chanel counter yesterday and I think they were showing the Spring collection, and the blush is to die for! Reminded me a lot of NARS famous one, Orgasm!

I’m loving Kensington! Maybe it’s the answer to my “please give me a great coral lipstick” prayer! Chelsea is just too sheer and different from how it looks in tube. A bit deceiving in my humble opinion.

I LOVE cats when they yawn, the sharp teeth and hooks on their tongues and all! Tabs has really sharp claws though, oh my! Don’t you trim them from time to time (yes I compromise my cats’ dignity by trimming their claws regularly so that no furniture/people/other cats can be hurt. They’re indoor anyways)?

Tabs really does look like our newer cat, Sparky, so cute! Except Sparky has a chipped fang…but in other news, I want Glossimer in Chelsea to be pigmented so that it looks like something from this collection. If I want a clear gloss, I get a cheap one that has the same shine, which is not that hard to find.
