New Glossimers Are Growing at Chanel in the Roses Ultimes de Chanel Collection

February 20th, 2012 by Karen 28 Comments

Wearing Chanel Roses Ultimes de Chanel Glossimer in Jalousie on my lips

Quick! — what’s the first flower that comes to mind when you think of Coco Chanel? If you said “camellias,” there’s a good reason for that. They were her signature bloom. Now, whenever I see one I think, “How very Chanel!” 🙂

This time, however, for Chanel’s latest makeup collection, camellias take a bow, and roses take center stage.

Glossimers and nail colors are blooming in the 10-piece, limited edition Roses Ultimes de Chanel, available now at Chanel counters and online. It features six thick, sticky Glossimers ($29.50 each) and four Les Vernis Nail Colors ($26 each) in springy shades of pink, peach and coral.

For the record, I have a thing for Glossimers. I’ve fallen for many of them before, and like those, these have that same thick, sticky consistency and unscented, unflavored formula that lasts from 3-4 hours.

Lately, I’ve been supervising visits between my lips and four of the six Glossimers from Roses Ultimes de Chanel, and so far everyone’s really getting along. 🙂

These vary in coverage, but I like how springy they feel without going down the typical spring pastel route.

For daytime errands, I’ve been grabbing the two lighter shades, creamy, peachy pink Plaisir and creamy coral Voluptè. Both are semi-sheer and oh, so easy to wear.

If you prefer more dramatic Glossimers and don’t mind having to do some light maintenance (may need to use a lip liner and do frequent check-ups), look for shimmery pink Dèsir (has the most prominent glitter of these four, and I can just barely feel it on my lips) and the potently pigmented fuchsia Jalousie. Both seem to take a little more babying than Plaisir and Voluptè, but WOW! — what an impact.

Oh, and if you happened to pick up any of the lipsticks from Knightsbridge, you’re in luck. I think all of these Glossimers layer really well with those lippies.

These being Chanel are kinda pricey, but there’s no reason they shouldn’t transition well into summer and beyond.

PRICE: $29.50 each

All the glossimers looks gorgeous on you! Volupte and Desir are the ones I want to buy. We have the same skin tone so I think that I might have to splurge on these. I just bought a glossimer today too. 🙁 My wallet will not be happy but my make up collection will be happy!

I love the look of these! I’m in a pink phase right now so Desir looks right up my alley. I haven’t bought a Chanel Glossimer in a while so maybe this will do it 😉

That’s so odd that you think of these as sticky lipglosses! I find them pretty gel-like and unsticky, although not slide-y, which is why I love them: no sticking lips like Lipglasses. I’ve got Jalousie, Amour, and Plaisir on their way, and I grabbed all the Vernis except the frosty Attraction – and I might have to go back for that after seeing this pic: http://lachanelphile.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/attraction.jpg.

HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL, Jalousie is stunning! I normally don’t like gloss because I’m not a fan of sticky-ness on my lips. And I *would* make an exception for that colour, except I’m on a spending ban. I’m just gonna have to admire this from afar. And admire it, I will. Seriously, so gorgeous… <3

I love how Jalousie looks on you! If there’s a contest of who wears fuchsia the best you’ll beat just about everyone I’ve seen hands down!

I think volupte, amour & desir may have to join my glossimer collection… i <3 big time the pink glossimers – astral, mica, venus & pink pulsion are some of the ones i've coveted in the past.

what does tabs think of these? cha cha & leroux stare at them when they sparkle in the sunlight!

Very pretty! I really like the look of Desir but wouldn’t be down with the extra babying it requires. 🙂

Did you guys have a nice weekend? It was great to have an extra day to run errands, cook ahead and catch up on back episodes of Castle. 🙂

The Jalousie is especially a fabulous color for you. Some black eye liner and you’re good to go! I love bright colors on tan skin, it really gives a great glow to the face. It looks so bright in the tube, but really is just right for you! Love!

They look so pigmented! I love Jalousie on you! But $29.50 for a lip gloss is what puts me off… And it’s the reason that I have not tried a Chanel Glossimer. But I have tried their lipsticks, so I guess it’s just that I don’t like lip gloss as much to commit that much money lol

I haven’t tried Glossimers yet because most of them are too sheer for me, but Jalousie looks totally gorgeous! love it!
