Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Do you ever play mix/match with MAC collection names? Like with Reel Sexy, In Extra Dimension, Très Cheek and Prime Future, you can also create a collection called Extra Sexy Cheek, or Reel Prime Sexy, or Future Cheek.

I don’t know… 🙂

So how was your Monday? I’m up late tonight, and I’m dangerously close to eating my leftover fish and chips. I should just have a banana and go to bed, but oh, those fish…those chips… They’re calling to me, “Eat us, Karen. You’ll sleep better.” Not.

That Heroine lipstick is to DIE for. I’m curious about those skin finishes though. I really like the gold one, but it kind of reminds me of one I already have; “gold deposit” I think? I think gold deposit has specs of something else in it though….

Wheee I think I need a couple of those eyeshadows at least, and the Modern Mandarin? Baby you’re MINE!!! I really like the idea of Watch Me Simmer. Perhaps I should take it this time.

Psst Karen, I think you might have forgotten to label one of the eyeshadows in the first swatch picture. The whitish one on the right 😉

Sometimes I find the amout of new limited collections MAC constantly puts out to be overwhelming, but I definitely need to check out that purple lipstick!

I think The Hunger Games have given me funky makeup fever! I finally saw the movie the other day, after I decided to casually borrow the book from the gf, figuring I’d read it here and there on lunch breaks… and then read the entire thing one night, moving on to the sequels, finishing each in a day, yikes! Once I’d started a book, I just couldnt put it down!

After the movie I kept boring the gf with talk about how I would totally love a makeup company to have a Hunger Games collaboration, like China Glaze did. MAC would be an obvious choice, but I think Illamasqua would be a perfect fit! I remember you’d mentioned their latest aqua blue lipstick was very Hunger Games, and I couldn’t agree more. Now I’m wishing I’d gone to the midnight showing, would’ve been a great excuse for some super fun crazy makeup!

What did you think of the movie?

I liked it a lot! I thought it was quite good, though i was a little sad that they could t include Madge. and I definitely teared up a couple times too, but I went prepared with napkins. Im pretty picky with movies based on books, but I really enjoyed it! I think it really helped that the author was involved with writing the screen adaptation.

The Extra Dimension eyeshadows are GORGEOUS….!!! Referring to the design more than the colors, I guess. Watch Me Simmer looks like a very fun pink!

Looks like you confused the swatches of Superb and Glorify. Superb eyeshadow looks much more darker in its case than Glorify.. and then if I look at the swatches, it looks like they seem to be changed. (I’m not sure, it only looks like it.)

I wanna play with them so badly but the whole graduate by my 23 birthday thing is making it difficult. Between all my regular courses, summer chemistries, and volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation place makes it pretty hard to find time to go to a MAC counter…..

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Not to worry — I’m sure MAC will have a ton of great launches to play with when you finish school! Maybe you can even treat yourself to a few graduation present goodies.

Normally, I’d be poo-pooing the fact that they included a lippie that was just released as LE in a collection 2 months later (Watch Me Simmer). But, as I was never able to lay my paws on it (sold out), I’m quite happy about it.

One of the Extra Dimension Skinfinishes (Superb) is due to arrive at my house later today! I ordered it as soon as it went live on the website. YAY EXCITED!

(also, your skinfinish swatches are labeled Young Venus, Superb and Glorify – but I think the three skinfinishes are called whisper of gilt, superb, and glorify – maybe double check? I think you have superb on the left, but i’m not sure about the others.)

I feel like a sneaky pirate for aquiring Immortal Flower blush. I expect it will go well with Watch Me Simmer and Star Quality.

And why didnt MAC pick up a Hunger Games makeup launch? They go together like a cat and a can of tuna.
