Happy Easter weekend! 🙂 You know what I don’t understand? Oatmeal at brunch. Maybe it’s because I have oatmeal for breakfast every other day during the week (I call it gruel). But I figure, if I’m going out to breakfast or brunch, I like to have something a little special, ya know?
Don’t get me wrong — I love oatmeal, but I can’t remember the last time I heard someone say, “We should totally go to this place I heard about for brunch because they have AMAZING oatmeal.”
LOL!
Another of my favorite breakfast/brunch foods: hash browns. I’ve yet to perfect the art of making hash brown at home. Mine are usually overdone.
As much as I love breakfast, I’m not the greatest breakfast cook. I think it takes my brain a lot longer to wake up than it takes my tummy.

I’m having brow issues… I just had them waxed yesterday after a long time of NOT waxing (like maybe 2 months?) because last time I got waxed, I broke out in little bumps above my brows… Well I go to a different place that uses different wax and BAM, broke out again. I give up on above the brow waxing now.

During the week I usually eat breakfast before I apply makeup…sometimes it’s kind of during. I apply all my base makeup, then eat, then do my eyes/blush/lipstick. 🙂 My tummy determines the order. Massive growling might lead to shaky hands/poked eyes.

I always fill in my brows! I used to use the Stila powder duo (which I think is discontinued now). Right now I’m using a Japanese brand “Kate” but I’m unsure of what to do when I run out (which is soon..!) I’m thinking either MAC e/s (Brun? Espresso?) or Brow Zings (cause I’m a huge Benefit fan). Although I used Busted from the Naked 2 palette to fill my brows and that looked pretty good too. Decisions Decisions!
Omelettes and hashbrowns are hands down my favourite brunch food! So so delicious!!

I always fill in my brows! I used to use brow powder, but lately I’ve been using brow pencil. I’m not sure which one I like more – I might need to try brow powder again sometime soon!

i don’t go out to brunch much anymore because i’m vegan and there aren’t many vegan-friendly brunch places around here… so instead, my hubby (also vegan) and i make our own brunch at home. we’ll usually make tofu scramble, hash browns, toast, tempeh bacon, grilled tomatoes, and OJ and coffee. i used to live in portland, oregon, and i used to go out for vegan french toast on the weekends. SO GOOD.

…the first time my son ever took me out. He’s 20 and has autism. I had to take him to get a physical and he couldn’t eat because they took blood, so he asked me if I wanted to go out for breakfast…..it was so nice!
I’m hundreds of miles away from family and I’m not a church-goer so I’m going to be pretty much alone this Easter. This is not, however, going to stop me from dying eggs and eating so much chocolate that I think I’m going to to barf. 🙂

The last time I went to brunch was a month ago. We went to this “hip” bottomless mimosa place. It was pretty awful because it sounded like I was in a club. I ended up having to yell to have a decent conversation. My throat was pretty sore after the experience. Did I also mention the food was less than stellar? Yeah, not my best experience at brunch :\.
Oh that sounds pretty awful! I always thought I was a wimp for not being able to stand being in loud places. I always have trouble being heard and then I end up losing my voice the next day!
I’m about to run out the door and play tennis (it’s been forevs – we’ll see just how out of shape I am, lol). So no makeup on my face today!

I am terribly ashamed to say that since I’ve started a new workout routine I don’t end up applying my makeup until the afternoon! I workout in the morning and sometimes go for a walk or jog after lunch and then I shower and get dolled up.

I had a brow wax appointment this morning, so today my brows aren’t just filled in, they’re PERFECT! I may have to go out tonight to show them off, lol.
I love love love oatmeal! I’m wanting to try this idea of cold oatmeal that you put in jars in the fridge overnight with milk and fruit and then just wake up, grab and go!

I marvel at the fact that someone thought of such fantastic stories, 75 years ago! I love the LOTR movies (but I didn’t read the books) so I was familiar with the world before diving into the Hobbit. There are so many fantasy stories and movies today, but imagine being a kid in 1937 and reading these….wow!

I did fill in my brows today, and did the rest of my makeup even though I’m staying in all day. I’ve been using castor oil on my brows for the last few weeks and I have to say, it’s definitely helped to fill in some sparse areas. I almost don’t even need to do my brows, except that I need to color them a little so they match my hair better.
I always do my makeup after the breakfast 🙂 that way I can brush my teeth and then apply my fav lipstick!! (just bought some Julie Hewett lipsticks and they are AMAZING!!!)

To answer your question – my brows are filled right now! I’m lazing around at home and couldn’t be bothered with makeup for once, but the brows had to be filled, you never know who may come for a visit!
My husband and I tried to go out to brunch a few weeks ago and the restaurant was PACKED – like, you couldn’t even walk in the vestibule. So we gave up and went to Denny’s. 🙂

I was so stressed out this past week that I went into work accidentally without eye makeup one day. So horrified! I had my face/bronzer done and even had eye primer but ran out the door totally forgetting eye shadows, etc. I just piled on the lip gloss at work. Yep, the natural look.
During the work week my breaskfast is a cup of cafe con leche ! sniff that is why I am drooling just thinking what I will have tomorrow at Easter brunch with my hubby.
Is there anyone who thinks “I don’t need another Mac lipstick…”?
Wishing I was a kid again for Easter. Remembering the excitment of waiting on the Easter Bunny to come. Relaxing on this nice Saturday afternoon getting ready to put my face on and go shopping. Happy Easter to you all…
I have so many neutral lip colours. Today I went to MAC and thought I’d get a more punchy lip colour for summer, and I ended up with a shade that looked like a peachy-orange when I tried it on my lips, but when I got home it was a much more muted coral shade. Like a coral-nude. I still love it though, it’s one of my favourite lip colours… but I have way too many natural-ish lip shades!
I’m spending time with my family this easter and then going to a party!

I sorted ALL of my nail polish last night and painted swatches on those little wheel things, now I can better compare what I own!
Hubby-dubby-doo had been craving honey bun cake, so that’s what we had for breakfast!
Overnight oats are the bomb. A bit of oatmeal, Greek yogurt, almond milk & chia seeds. Put in fridge overnight and enjoy in te morning. Yum!
I haven’t been out to brunch in ages! However, my fave place in the world to go is Le Peep, where they have the most delicious biscuits & gravy.

Good afternoon Karen! I hope your easter weekend is shaping up to be as lovely as mine. I just got back from a nice bike ride with el hubs where we snagged lunch on the way and I’m getting ready to do easter nails. Tomorrow I get to spend a day with the in-laws, whom I adore, so tomorrow is looking fabulous as well.

I don’t remember the last time we went out for breakfast…..we tend to make pancakes and omelettes every weekend at home.
DH and I tend to eat breakfast in on the weekends. I usually do a big Brunch on Sundays.
On the weekdays I I eat breakfast at my store, so makeup is before breakfast.
Brows? Oh you mean these thick bushy caterpillars above my eyes? There is no need to fill
in when there is a forest all ready there…… 😉

My absolute, absolute FAVORITE meal in the world is breakfast. I’m obsessed with breakfast foods–which sucks cuz all the ones I love are super unhealthy too! I LOVE bacon (cooked until it’s burnt black. That way, it almost dissolves on your tongue. Yum!), hollandaise sauce on ANYTHING (til it’s almost drowning in it), pancakes with lots and lots of butter, eggs and cheese….mmm. I obviously don’t believe in “excess”

It is hard for me to go out to eat for anything, these days. I’m allergic to wheat, gluten, all dairy, and sugar, along with almonds and peanut butter. Oh how I miss crepes!
I don’t always fill in my brows (especially not when I’m in the middle of a study marathon at home) but when I do, I use MAC’s Impeccable Brow Pencil in Taupe.
Sadly, I think it is being discontinued. Fortunately, I was able to snap some up at the Cosmetics Company Outlet for 1/2 the price they cost up here in Canada!

I’m just pet+house-sitting this weekend! 1 dog, 2 cats. Definitely not used to having animals around since my mom didn’t let me have pets growing up. It is very sweet when they crawl into bed with you but not when they wake you up at 4 am to go outside!

Did you know that the name “Easter” comes from a pagan Goddess named Estra? From which we get the word “estrus.” I believwe she was a fertility goddess. Her sacred animal was the hare (hence the Easter Bunny) and her sacred symbol was the egg (hence Easter Eggs). But, there were no chocolate bunnies in her days–more a modern concept, and not a bad one at that.

Went out to breakfast last Wednesday cause the kids were off from school all week. My daughter had banana caramel pancakes and my son had a German pancake. I had a spinach and Swiss cheese omelet and hash browns!! YUM!

I have been searching for a foundation that looks good and works for me FOREVER!!! I’m 36 and still haven’t found one. Of course, a number of years ago, one of the MAC foundations worked well, and I meant to buy it, but didn’t. That foundation o longer looks flatters my skin, as it emphasize some fine lines I’ve gladly (ha!) acquired in the interim. I then found a MAC foundation, actually it was recommended by one of their makeup artists, and it looked fabulous UNTIL it started sliding down my face a few hours later, transferred to anything I put my face against and left me looking quite shiny, which I normally don’t. ARGH. How does one ever find “their” foundation??!!! So frustrated!

There’s a great breakfast place close to my house that serves a chickichanga. It’s a breakfast burrito with eggs, spicy chicken, avocado, tomatoes, cheese, and more! Obviously, I love it.

When I was getting lean for bodybuilding, going out to breakfast was my once-weekly treat. I wasn’t used to the carbs so I would wake up, gobble down a ridic breakfast, go home, and promptly pass out in a carb overload. THAT was living right there. 😀

I rarely go out for brunch because I like cooking breakfast with my husband on the weekends. But I did go out for brunch a few weeks ago and had a breakfast pizza I have been thinking about since.
The last time I went out to breakfast was last weekend when I went to visit my boyfriends parents!

I love going to Old Country Buffet for brunch. They don’t really have brunch like food but I love buffets lol. I probably shouldn’t admit that I love OCB. I don’t go often every couple of years but when I do go I love it!

Yesterday I donated blood and went to see a movie (The Hunger Games). Today I’m just lolling around reading a book (“Night Sessions” by Ken MacLeod).

I like to put my makeup on before breakfast and then I touch up my lipstick after.

I definitely apply makeup after breakfast, unless I’m going out. Last time I went for breakfast was about a month ago to IHOP.

We had a wonderful Easter weekend – visited our sons in college and had a wonderful Easter dinner with my mother and daughter. My husband was very sick with the flu so we didn’t make it to church, but we had a wonderful time!

When was the last time you went out to breakfast/brunch? What are you up to this weekend?
– The last time I went out to breakfast/brunch was back sometime in February. For lent I decided to do a partial juice fast for about 3 weeks, and then went vegan only eating plant based foods and tons o’ salad. I managed to lose 25 lbs in the 40-47 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. My fiance & I went to Lakewood Church (Houston, Texas) and it was CRAY CRAY!! Never in my years attending have I ever sat in the “nosebleed” section until today.
Do you apply your makeup before or after breakfast?
I like to do it before breakfast cause lipstick with food crumbs is not cute, unless you want a snack for later, then you can lick your lips! LOL

Oh no honey, I take these little caterpillars on my forehead to get waxed at the nail salon. Those Asian ladies know how to shape them for me.
