A Safari of Shimmer Awaits Cheeks, Lips and Eyes Wearing the LORAC Wild for TANtalizer Collection

May 29th, 2012 by Karen 39 Comments

lorac wild for tantalizer collection

Good news, you gorgeous golden jungle cat. You won’t have to prowl much further for a meow-worthy makeup collection (or a purse, for that matter) to go with that post-Memorial Day tan.

Part-time shimmery seductress, full-time toasty temptress, LORAC’s Wild for TANtalizer Collection ($39) roars on to cheeks, lips and eyes with shimmery eyeshadows, bronzer and lipstick in warm shades of bronze, beige, brown, gold and peach.

And after a successful hunt, the pieces in this pride of LORAC lionesses retreat to the safety of their very own canvas-like carrying case. The purse comes with the collection and holds everything a big cat needs — makeup, iPhone, perfume, hand/paw lotion. Ya know, the usual. 🙂

In case you’re wondering, the striped pattern on the pan of Wild for TANtalizer Bronzing Powder is an overspray…

Getting to know the $39 LORAC Wild for TANtalizer Collection…

  • I hope you’re in the mood to shimmer, because everything here does it. The collection, which is more a kit, since everything comes together, seriously shimmers, so there’s not a lot of variety in terms of finish
  • Fallout hasn’t been an issue for the eyeshadows, which is nice, and I find them easy to apply and blend
  • I recommend using a light touch to apply these products, as I’ve noticed that when I go a little too far, they highlight my fine lines and wrinkles
  • The peachy golden bronzer also doubles as a blush (score one for flexibility!)
  • Oh, as a side, Raoul and I are in love… Yup, Raoul is the lipgloss. He looks fantastic as a peachy bronze in the nude, LOL!

PRICE: $39

Coming soon from MAC: Beth Ditto and Casual Color

mac beth ditto collection

“MAC” your calendars for June 7, fellow makeup-loving crazy cat ladies. That’s when two new MAC collections arrive, Beth Ditto (an American singer/songwriter) and Casual Colour.

Wait — what? New collections already? Didn’t Hey, Sailor! just arrive in port?

Actually, yes. But you know MAC. They like to keep us on our toes.

I think Beth Ditto looks like fun! Very pop art, and how can you not love polka dots? The 24-piece collection for eyes, lips, nails and face features a brand-spanking new line of products called the Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liners ($22 each), four dual-tipped pencils with an Eye Shadow on one end and a Greasepaint Liner on the other.

Should be perfect for smokey eyes. 🙂

BOOYAH!!

Literally. That’s the name of one of the five Pro Longwear Lipcremes in the release…BOOYAH!! Written like that in all caps with two exclamation marks.

Beep-beep-beep! Pardon me, but I think I hear the ’90s calling me on my pager, haha.

The second launch, a 17-piece release called Casual Colour, seems like my kind of collection, casual weekend colors for eyes, lips, cheeks and nails. For starters, I love the tagline, “Stilettos, Off! Hair, Down!” But I would have added one more thing (“Stretchy Pants, On!”).

The collection also introduces the Lip and Cheek Colour Pots ($20 each), another new product for MAC.

I’m sensing a potentially good multitasker… I sure hope the eight shades deliver.

Karen

Hey Sailor just released last week. Can’t believe Beth Ditto is releasing next week! I’m thinking about getting the polka dotted face powder. Hopefully, it’s not going to be chalky on my skin tone. =)

It’s pretty darn shimmery. But it’s classy kinda shimmery, you know?

    Ooh, that eye quad. Love!

I’m really excited for the Lip and Cheek Color Pots, but much less so for Beth Ditto – I wasn’t ever really a fan, but maybe I’ll be persuaded by polka dots 😛 It wouldn’t be an unprecedented development, to say the least!

I love the little LORAC bag (of course I do). 🙂 I also giggled a bit at the shadow names, but I think the shimmer looks nice on you and it seems like it would get a lot of use in the summer. Every time you have a post with “meow”, all I can think of is Super Troopers. I realize it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it makes me laugh, so thanks for that!!

I have actually had a “serious debate” over why it’s better than Beerfest (which also makes me laugh). It’s funny how I don’t have time for so much, but seem to find time to argue over which Broken Lizard movie is better. hee hee!

Raoul is amazing on you- any other shades you can think of that are similar to that lipgloss? I am super pale- like, lightest-shade-of -all-foundation-collections-light. Do you think this collection works for pale-faced girls, or is it better for those that have any color to their skin?

      Hi Alyse,

      Thank you!

I bet you’d easily be able to pull of the bronzer and Panthera and Tigris eyeshadows. The darker shades will probably give you more of a darker, smokey look (super cool!). As for Raoul, on you it might be a little more intese (also depends on how pigmented your lips are). Have you seen the new Illamasqua Naked Strangers gloss? It’s not in stores yet, but will be soon. It’s this gorgeous nude pale pink that would work well with lighter skin tones:

But of course! I don’t miss a post on your blog =) Thank you- I really dig that bronzer because it doesn’t lean too orange, my biggest gripe about a lot of bronzers. Thank you for your reply!

I LOVELOVELOVE the eyeshadow palette that LORAC came out with – so pretty, and seems like it could go from sheer to smoky in a heartbeat.

Im not really anticipating Casual Color – I have way way too many cream blushes and dont want to add more. The powder that is coming out w/ the Beth Ditto collection is pretty cute — might get that!

      Hi Nina,

But what if these cream blushes are life changing and AWESOME? Ahhh, see. I can never resist the thrill of finding something new.

Yeah, that powder looks super cool! The pattern on it is so cute. 🙂

I think its the blue polka dot pattern on the powder that intrigues me – I mean — will it make my face blue? If the answer is yes then it multiplies my wanting it by leaps and bounds! 😀

I kindasorta founda lifechanging cream blush that I also use as a lip color in the drugstore. 😀 I am in love with it and sad that there are only three colors — maybe thats where Casual Color comes in. 😛

So, you’ve gotta tell me about this life-changing drugstore blush!

LOL its pretty spendy for a drugstore blush but the Revlon Photoready Cream Blushes are awesome – there are three shades, I have 2 and love them both!

PS- Beth Ditto and Casual Color are online!!!

            Hi Nina,

You’re the second person I’ve heard in the last week to rave about those blushes. HMM… must investigate. What colors do you have/love?

LOL, I already have some Beth Ditto and Casual Colour in my cart, OY!

I have Flushed and Coral Reef – both so bright and summery. What I love is that they stay on my cheeks all day – there’s very little slip! The third color is Pinched – which I think is a tad light for me, and totally reminds me of one of the colors from Casual Color.

I ordered the powder from Beth Ditto and was shocked after I checked out — that thing is 38 bucks! Kinda high for a MAC powder, methinks.

Ya know, I resisted cream blushes for the longest time, but now I can’t live without them. They’re especially great for travel (no brushes required!). If you and your hubby go on another trip, maybe you should take one of the Cheek Colour Pots, hee hee!

I picked up this Lorac collection a few weeks ago at Ulta. I love it! A lighter touch keeps the shimmer toned down a bit. The colors last all day for me, a good thing! This was my first experience with Lorac and I’m very happy with the collection.
