NYX Shows Its Softer Side With the $18 Spring Fling Palette for Eyes, Cheeks and Lips

June 1st, 2012 by Karen 20 Comments

NYX spring fling palette

Wow, the first day of June already!? That leaves barely enough time for an NYX Spring Fling before summer. 🙂

The powders in NYX’s new $18 Spring Fling Palette are some of the softest I’ve ever felt from the brand.

So soft, in fact, that I think they might even be a little too soft for everyday use.

With its 12 powder shadows, two blushes and two lip glosses in a sweet, subdued mix of neutrals and pastels, the only thing missing is a pair of kid gloves to handle them.

Love the colors and like the price, but these fragile shadows might do better sitting safely on top of your makeup drawer than jostling around at the bottom of your purse.

TLC definitely required.

PRICE: $18
AVAILABILITY: Available now at drugstores, Ulta and nyxcosmetics.com

Karen

P.S. TGIF! 🙂

Eeek- all of those pastels are so chalky it’s hard to differentiate between the colors! Pass! BTW, I like Tabs’ pretty necklace! He’s not afraid to dress up 🙂

I actually saw this at a little shop here in town thats got a pretty good NYX display…. I liked the packaging, cardboard and all but they felt a tad too powdery for my tastes. The blush was pretty though!!!

The eye shadows look really chalky. Pretty packaging.

These are pretty pastels, but I think they might be a bit too light for my skin.

TGIF! I can’t believe it’s June already. This year has gone by faster than ever. Have a great weekend! 🙂

These would look too ashy on my skin sadly! A pale skinned beauty would rock these soft candy shades though!

Ooh, I love that bright pink blush! It’s a shame the powders are so soft, though, since this would be great for traveling. =/

I’ll pass on these light powdery colors. I like vivid color eye-shadows.I didn’t know Tabs was a player!

Hmmph.. the shadows would not fare too well for me. But as usual, the blushes nailed it!
    Still a pass.

Is tabs getting some sun too?

Awww Tabs and his spring fling… how cute!

I don’t really think this palette would be my thing. It’s a bit too pastel, and my skin tone probably doesn’t pull that off too well!

These are very pretty–I think they’d definitely suit someone with fair skin best. Otherwise, it seems like it may go on a bit chalky and/or ashy. Like the overall concept though, it’s a gorgeous palette.

These actually look like they might be nice, seeing as I have pale skin and don’t like brightly colored eyeshadow. Pastel shades seem like a nice way to wear color without being loud. Unfortunately this palette includes a bunch of things I don’t need, and $18 is a little more than I’d be willing to pay for experimenting…

I wish I could wear such pastels, they look like candies. But they wash me out, the only ‘saviour’ is a black liner on the eyes with them. But still…

Wow the soft pastel colors really look pretty, too bad most of them are matte.. I prefer shimmers more than matte, but they sure are pretty

These colors don’t tend to work for me…but I love the look of the palette. Is that reason enough to buy it? ; w ; It could just sit and look pretty.
