Rouge Bunny Rouge Blush Wand in Titian: This Barely-There Bunny Hops Away Like a Hare

August 27th, 2012 by Karen 35 Comments

rouge bunny rouge titian blush wand review

Have you ever tried explaining the idea of no-makeup makeup to your significant other? Did he (or she), like El Hub, drift off into space as you broke it down, bullet-point style? Did their eyes glaze over as you described, in painstaking detail, your quest to find a perfect barely-there blush in a no-makeup makeup color?

If so, I may have found something to help.

Rabbits.

In a manner of speaking.

Or singing. 🙂

Here comes Peter Tabbytail, hoppin’ down the bunny trail, and he’s carrying RBR’s Blush Wand in Titiaaaaan.

Rouge Bunny Rouge’s $34 Blush Wand in Titian isn’t exactly drugstore magic, but it’s capable of casting a spell or two.

The pricey, albeit perfectly natural-looking, peachy cream stick blush hopped on the scene eariler this summer with its cotton-tailed cousins in the Rouge Bunny Rouge Mistral Collection.

I swipe it straight from the stick on bare skin, or atop foundation and/or powder, and then blend out any visible edges with a finger.

Unfortunately, this bunny is also kinda skittish and disappears after about four hours…

Yup, it doesn’t last very long, at least not on my combination dry/oily skin, which means that it’s a good thing the packaging is so doggone cute and convenient.

To its credit, this bunny is quite a rare breed. It’s not always easy to find a cream blush that can lay down a veil of even, glassy color on my patchy, sometimes flaky cheeks, but Titian manages to do just that.

It might not be right for skin tones much darker than mine, possibly appearing washed out based on what I’m seeing, but lighter lasses and medium skin tones may be in luck, especially those who don’t mind having to reapply halfway through the day.

If you have very light skin, I hope you give it a try and let me know how it goes. I bet it’ll look beautiful. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. I still haven’t caught last night’s episode of True Blood, but I’m hoping I can watch it tonight. I did, however, start watching the new episode of Hell on Wheels.

So random, but every time I watch that show (LOL! I just accidentally typed “every time I swatch that show”), I say to El Hub, “I don’t think I could have handled living back then. There’s just so much mud!”

Yeah, I’m not built for frontier living and chamber pots… I’m pretty sure about that.

This is pretty much the perfect peachy-pink shade–love it. Don’t love the wear time…it probably wouldn’t last an hour and a half on my very oily skin. Not worth $34 for me :/

I know, it’s kinda pricey for the wear time.

Awww, that’s too bad! It’s such a pretty shade of pink.
I just taped that new show called Copper. I don’t think I could have lived in 1864. Although, I dig the clothes. 🙂

I think it’s a little too natural for me. I can be pale (when I’m tired), and I like my cheeks blushed, you know, not in a skin shade.

It’s one of those very natural shades you’ll either love/don’t love, I suppose!

I like how natural it looks on your skin. As for True Blood, NOW I can finally start watching season 5! (I hate waiting every week).

Might be a little too natural for my personal tastes. I can’t even tell that you’re wearing anything on your cheeks, at all. 🙁 Possibly would show up more on very fair/porcelain skin?

Yes. It probably would be better suited to fair gals.

I don’t mind my blush fading a bit by the end of the day, but if it’s going to disappear on me after 4 hours then no… Too bad RBR just doesn’t seem to get their blush sticks right. I remember reading your review on another one that does the same thing.

LOL @ theres just so much mud – so true! The stick blush is pretty but might be a bit too light/cool toned for me.

The packing is really cute, but I need all-day makeup with no reapplying. 🙂

I totally LOL’d about your mud comment. I had a very similar reaction to HBO’s Deadwood. Everyone was just too dirty (and don’t get me started about the lack or oral hygiene) for me in the wild west. HAHA!

        Totally agree!

It was a really great vacation – we had such a blast boogie boarding. I think we’ll stay for the whole week next year to maximize our beach time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. 🙂

Are you getting excited for Tahoe? I think I’m going to head out to Seattle in October (for work). I’ve never been so it should be a good time.

Which part of your skin is patchy? Can’t really tell from pictures. I have oily skin too, but have flaky patches mostly on the jawline. That, and pimples. =(

It’s so pale but so soft. I might as well do the classic ‘put your lipstick blot on your cheeks’ blush to save some money. What a shame. I’m looking for a reason to test out Rouge Bunny.

    I’m obsessed with that packaging.

My Hubby just started watching Hell On Wheels and likes it a lot. The main actor in it reminds me of some other actor but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Thoughts?
