I literally just climbed out of bed, walked down the hallway to my office, plopped down in my chair, and no more than two seconds later, el jefe hopped in my lap and demanded that I get to work, “MEOW!” [read: ASAP!], with the first order of business being 15 minutes of petting.
So here I am trying to type “giod mborning” with 20 pounds of tabby draped over my forearms…
For the record, not easy to do.
Not much going on today. All I want to do is take it easy, watch some TV, maybe go to a movie and play with the new Urban Decay Vice Palette.
I’ve also been wanting to take a walk around downtown Novato with my camera, so I may do that this afternoon. It’s a quaint little shopping area with some cute retail landscaping, like hanging flower baskets and planters on windowsills. I haven’t taken a walking tour with my camera in a while, and I’ve got an itchy shutter finger. 🙂

I just picked up my first nude lipstick…I’m really not usually a fan of a nude lip look, but I’m trying it out. To be safe, I just picked up a cheap NYX lipstick, but I actually really love it! I got it in the shade Summer of Love and it feels SO good. Definitely need to pick up more NYX for only four bucks a pop!

The most recent lipgloss I’m really loving is Femme Couture lip luster in Sahara Rose. It’s like MAC’s club eyeshadow or Too Faced Cosmetics Label Whore eyeshadow but in a lipgloss!

The new Urban Decay palette is so gorgeous! I have so much eye shadow already. Urban Decays palettes seem to last forever for me. I haven’t made a dent in my Book of Shadows IV or my Naked 2!
My first high end lipstick is chanel coco rouge shine sari deau. I love the shade but for the price, I personally prefer the cheaper products like Mac or else try another high end brand of lipstick.

I prefer powder blush over cream, easier to apply with brushes, don’t have to get all messy with sticking your fingers into the pot.

The last lipstick I fell in love with was totally unexpected – I was trying to order MAC Yung Rapunxel (I love purple lipstick and Azealia Banks, so it seemed like a match made in heaven) and threw in Mehr because I’d heard good things about it. YR got backordered (still no idea if I’ll ever get it ;_;) but Mehr came a few days ago, and I’m surprised by how nice it looks! I was a little scared of trying a blue-based pink, but it has a lot of brown and somehow looks mostly natural while also standing out.
I love ripe bananas. Never understood people who don’t like any spots on their bananas.
The color nail polish I have on my toes at-this-very-second is……”UTOPIAN TURQUOISE!” from YSL and it is one of the PRETTIEST nail polishes I have ever owned…..it is!!!! It’s simply STUNNING……..and the color lasts for weeks with a high gloss finish.

I’m wearing a M&S nailpolish called aubergine on my toes and have white flowers stamped on them using a Konad nail plate (M57). I have just gotten one of the Konad nail plates and have been going into a nail stamping frenzy every since! lol. Not sure why it took me so long to give them a try. Do try them out if you haven’t!

I’m really loving revlon’s new cream blushes, they aren’t very pigmented but add such a new flush of color to my cheeks.

I like my bananas to be a yellow-green. I usually don’t buy bananas though because they only stay that color/level of ripeness for a day. I buy them when they are super green though.

Bananas? Still a bit green near the stem, with no spots on the skin — so just slightly underripe. Once they start getting spotty, I’ll only eat them as banana bread or in smoothies. Peel ’em, freeze ’em, blend ’em with some frozen berries and silken tofu? YUM!

I tend to go with a more neutral mouth with a MAC lipglass/plushglass (Fulfilled, Ample Pink and Spite are current faves), but I am really loving MAC Capricious lustre lipstick. The color is beautiful, but not too vibrant for everyday. I also like the way it works with so many makeup palettes. It is a nice rose with some peachy-gold to it. It also looks nice with my yellow understone skin (I am part Pinay). It takes a lot for me to fall in love with a lipstick, but this one does it…as has NARS Dolce Vita.
It’s my birthday today! This would be a great gift! 🙂

I have a black and white bedspread – we upgraded to a queen size bed when we moved at the beginning of the summer and suddenly realized that all of our bedding was full size, oops! Luckily, the new place is around the corner from a Marshalls. Got the set with the bedspread, bed skirt, shams, and even two small ornamental pillows for $60!

I normally go for powder blush because it’s just easier, but I’ve been loving cream blush lately. The main problem I have with cream blush is the fact that my skin turns bright red upon getting rubbed at all, so when I’m rubbing the blush in I can’t tell what brightness on my face is the blush and what is just my skin getting irritated from the rubbing!

My bedspread is a light sage color with little dainty flowers, Shabby Chic for Target. I usually don’t like flowered things but I like my bedspread. And the only swimming I got this summer was at my best friends brothers swimming pool when she was house sitting. The pool has a slide and two waterfalls. Its like a hotel pool, totally amazing.

Currently, I am sporting Essie’s “Boxer Shorts” on my toes. 🙂 I love purple polishes year round, but soon it’ll be time to switch over to something darker and less summery than Boxer Shorts. As for blushes, I feel like I am more competent at applying powder blushes than cream blushes. I feel like my cream blush attempts just kind of “plop” on and stay in a blob, regardless of how little I try to use. My powder blushes seem to glide on seamlessly and effortlessly. I need some practice time with my cream blushes, so I don’t end up looking like a circus clown, LOL.

Today, the vet told me I had to put Molly, my sweet 9 year old Tabby, on a diet. She is not pleased to say the least.
Bananas: just at the cusp between green and ripe! For me, too ripe bananas are terrible 🙁 even if they’re just fully yellow without any brown spots yet. Call me picky.
I get bananas as green as I can find them because they ripen WAY too fast and I have to throw them out before the whole bunch can be eaten.

My favorite blush at the moment is the MAC Mineralized skin finish in Light Year–I find it’s the perfect transition cheek color for fall 🙂

MAC Viva Glam I is the last lipstick I fell in love with, it’s the perfect matte red for me. It’s not so bright that I look pin-up, but not so dark that I can’t wear it with a dramatic eye.

Broke down and bought the MAC Jungle Camouflage face kit beacuse it looked so good on you – I said i was never buying anymore MAC quads and would only depot to make my own – Have so many Chanel ones – but the size of this and the blush can be used for a bronzer – perfect for travel – not lets see when I visit my friend in Nov – if I don’t take more than this and one blush – it was worth it – LOL

I just got the MUFE lipstick sample with my last Sephora order… I need a gift card so I can buy the full size! (Unfortunately, the whole lipstick fell apart and got smushed. It’s still usable but super messy now. Boo.)
I just bought a new Laura Mercier Creme Smooth lipstick in Dulce de Leche – I love it! It’s a great neutral – not too brown, not too pink, not too light – and the formula is creamy-satiny but not sticky and it stays put and lasts a long time. I also got a big sample of Oil Free Supreme foundation and I’m very impressed! It’s hard to find an oil-free foundation that’s not super-matte; this one has a natural finish without being greasy or too wet.
I had read on totalbeauty.com that the best brown lipstick was Maybellines “Crazy for Coffee” and it is so creamy and a pretty color and wear it all the time!

I tend to do both cream and powder blush – makes the color last all day.
We have banana trees in our back yard. The little burros they produce can be a bit bland when they are 100% ripe, so I like them best when they’re right on the cusp – ripe enough to be sweet, but with a little tang of the green still on them.

Last lipstick I fell in love with was MAC Viva Glam VI. The perfect color for me… I wear it every day.
I’m a sucker for Clinique’s Black Honey. On your recommendation, I also got the Milani dup for when the black honey gloss is too much shine and the almost-lipstick would melt in my pocket.
I don’t use lipstick, but I do use lipliner (MUFE Aqua Liner) and lip gloss (Clinique superbalm moisturizing gloss).
I prefer the dependability of a cream blush but the look of powder.
Oh I wish I had gotten in some swimming this summer, but c’est la vie. My gym has a pool so maybe I’ll get up the courage to use it.

I’m finding that the Chanel blush shade I have isn’t really all the pigmented. I have tried many brushes with it and I really have to work them in to pick up any color. I also find that their eye shadow quads aren’t that pigmented as well. I have the smokey eyes one and a purple one and they don’t really do it for me
