It’s a new shade for fall; I painted it on late last night when I otherwise should have been sleeping…
(That’s one of the things insomnia is good for — late-night at-home manicures.)
So I’m really diggin’ this duo-chrome effect. One minute it’s teal, and the next it looks green!

I really wanted to show you what it looks like underwater, like when I’m washing my hands or doing the dishes, because I think it looks neat! — like a mermaid’s tail — but it was logistically challenging (holding the camera with one hand while the other was underwater)…

Fam and noms
It was smooth sailing back from Napa this afternoon because I just managed to miss the traffic. There’s basically only a single major highway in Marin County (101), and it runs from the Napa area in the north down to the Golden Gate Bridge in the south. And every weekday afternoon around 3, it turns into a parking lot. You’re lucky if you’re moving 5 miles an hour, so you want to try to get wherever you’re going by then…
We had a nice lunch. It was funny — at the restaurant, right when the food came out, everyone busted out their cameras and started taking pics (like we were food paparazzi)!
I guess it runs in the family. 🙂

It was good to see my cousins. I hadn’t seen them in years. They’re just here on vacation, visiting friends and family all over the place. From here they head to Boston.

I’m wearing Sally Hansen Lustreshine in Lava on my nails. The color is really awesome… it looks like, well, lava! Copper with flashes of orange, gold an even some fuschia in different light. So perfect for fall.
I’m just hanging out this evening, sipping on some hazelnut chai tea and watching the Project Runway finale.

I love both Essie and OPI polishes, but right now I am obsessed with Spoiled brand of polish in the color- “I Don’t Drink Cheap Wine” which I get in CVS. Such a great color for the holidays.
I’ve seen that brand at CVS but worried for the price is might not be as good as it looked. I’ll give it a try.

Finger nails- Rimmel Metal Rush 100 Pearly Queen, a pastel lilac with green/pink/blue duo chrome.
Toe nails- OPI Pompeii Purple
On my nails? China Glaze Golden Meringue with a matte topcoat. (It goes from golden yellow Las Vegas ‘day look’ polish to a subtle mineral yellow that only flashes in the light.) On my ring fingers are China Glaze Deviantly Daring. It’s a teal to green duochrome that I’m swooning over. I do have Mer-Maid on my wishlist.
I’m wearing Essie’s new Where’s My Chauffer from the Winter 2012 collection right now with Essie’s Stroke of Brilliance over on accent nails. I totally feel you about the late-night manis when you SHOULD be sleeping. I did this last night/this morning at 3:30AM 😛 It’s when I get all my best work done haha
