With 14 Full-Size Pencil Liners, the $160 Make Up For Ever Ultimate Eye Liner Collection Draws Beauty Lovers Into Its Pigmented Embrace

The new Make Up For Ever Ultimate Eye Liner Collection ($160)

Ouch! I know I asked you to pinch me to see if I was dreaming, but dagnabbit! — did you have to pinch so hard?!

That’s alright… I forgive you. I’m sure you’re probably just excited about the new $160 Make Up For Ever Ultimate Eye Liner Collection like I am and couldn’t control yourself. Heck, I might have done the same thing.

Wowza! That’s a lotta liner…

The new limited edition release of pencil eye liners comes fully equipped with 14 full-size eyeliners in three different formulas to make holiday dreams come true (and to cover all of your liner bases). With seven long-wearing Aqua Eyes pencils, three smudgy Crayon Kohls and four vibrant liquid Aqua Liners, it really does try to live up to its name as the Ultimate Eye Liner Collection.

And the price also represents a hefty savings (even though $160 is still a ton of tacos).

If you were to buy all 14 of these liners separately, it would set you back $269, but in the kit, the liners work out to $11 each, which is a lot less than the $17-23 MUFE usually charges.

The colors in the kit should flatter a wide range of skin tones. MUFE thoughtfully covered most of the major color bases, sprinkling some fun greens, purples and a shimmery champagne into a mix of everyday basic black, brown and gray shades.

I would’ve loved to also see a bronze or a gold here, but that’s probably just my warm skin tone talking. 🙂

And the icing on the cake? — Make Up For Ever threw in a sharpener to keep those pencil tips sharp.

The Ultimate Eye Liner Collection is one of the more expensive holiday kits I’ve seen so far this year (we’re talkin’ Burberry Trench Coat territory!), but it does translate into some pretty sweet savings.

PRICE: $160 (a $269 value)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Sephora stores and online at sephora.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A- (I wish it also included a gold or bronze shade)

Thank goodness for waterproof liner…

…because I had to go to the dentist today! Yea!

Bluh.

It was just for a cleaning, but I’m scared to death of those crazy silver hooks. Every time I see one of those things coming at me out of the corner of my eye, first I quiver (and not in the same way I do when I see Jeremy Renner’s arms), and then I cry.

Speaking of J. Renn, did you catch him on Saturday Night Live last weekend? What did you think?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hi Hanna,

They are! Have you ever tried the MUFE liners before? The Aqua pencils need a bit of layering to wear on the water line, but other than that, they’re perfect!

Bronze Green is so my thing!

Good luck with the dentist! That silver hook is so insanely scary! Might as well keep your eyes closed? Would that help? My dentist put some kind of cloth over my face when he removed my first wisdom tooth. I was so totally fine as long as I didn’t have to see anything!

      Hi Sunny,

I’ve tried that but it doesn’t help. I get all worked up about not having control over the situation.

Gahhh, I HATE the dentist too. I mean-I like her, but HATE going.

This set looks kind of awesome! I’m really into eyeliners lately!

Yes! Imagine it all smudged all over the lid with something like MAC Club packed on top…yum!

So, do you like MUFE? Got any must-haves to recommend?

      Hi Sarah,

I’ve been singing his Bourne song for the last few days — “Ya know I’m gonna shoot somebody!” LOL!

Yeah, I didn’t think the skits were all that funny either, but I loved seeing him do his thing!

Those liners look really pigmented. I love a lot of the shades and would’ve tried them, but I already bought the Urban Decay Ocho Loco set (2 of them!), so I can’t justify buying even more liners. 🙂

Two Loco sets? You so crazy, girl! I guess you really loved the colors! Which liner in the set is your fave.

These are gorgeous, but I don’t know if I’m enough of an eyeliner person to splash out that much for the set. I like some of the individual ones and would be willing to buy them separately–that’s for sure!

      Hi Becca,

If you’ve got a lot of cousins to buy holiday presents for this still might be a good set to consider! You could always break it up and keep the colors you want for yourself. 😉

      Hi Nina,

Ya know, back in the day I wasn’t crazy about them, but I love them now. I love how they get all smudgy and rockstar… and how you can layer them beneath eyeshadows! Maybe I’m just getting more into messier looks as I get older because they’re fast and easy, hahaha!

Hope your Tuesday has been tops. It’s raining here in Northern California, boo!

Oh my goodness! This kit is amazing!

I love the idea of having different types of liners in a holiday kit – give you more variety for a look! This is why I prefer MUFE’s eyeliner kits to Urban Decays’.

I do actually and I really really like them! They do not budge! Even with my oily lids!

Ooooh champagne on the water line eh? That’s something I’ll have to try soon! I usually do the nude water line thing, but shimmer sounds delightful too!

Sorry about the dentist — maybe you should get a reward for being good and going even though you don’t like it. 🙂

I’ve been sick for 3 weeks, and it’s starting to wear me down. Yay for waterproof eyeliner indeed!

Also — just wanted to say that I like the backgrounds in your photos. I don’t know what the first one is — but they are the perfect frame. Nice job!
