Panama Is Hella Cool! The New Dior Diorshow Mono Wet & Dry Backstage Eyesahdow in Panama

February 22nd, 2013 by Karen 16 Comments

It’s like, BB creams are the new Naked palettes, and Naked palettes were the new vibrating mascaras, and vibrating mascaras were the new flashlight LED lip glosses/mascaras (remember those?!).

I feel like I can’t whip my hair around without my ponytail striking another new makeup/beauty must-have product.

But there are those things that withstand the test of time, ya know, like black liners, red lipsticks and brown eye shadows, to name a few.

And speaking of brown shadows, here’s one that may be worthy of your affections, especially if you like a little with your shadow.

It’s Dior’s cool, new $29 Diorshow Mono in Panama (haha, I almost typed “Panem,” Hunger Games moment!). 🙂

No, really, it’s cool, color temperature-wise. A satiny brown with microscopic flecks of secret shimmer that glimmer in direct sunlight, it’s also cool in that when you apply it and buff for a bit, the blackened base shows through.

I like the way it looks on its own. Great for chocolaty daytime smokey eyes, but add a soft pink, ladylike lipstick and blush, and it turns into pure perfection!

Panama should have no trouble at all transitioning from winter to spring and summer. Pat it on your lids, sweep a high-shine bronze or gold into the crease, and pair it up with coral cheeks and lips. Gawgeous!

It’s one of eight Diorshow Monos, a new line of recently-released Dior eye shadow singles, and it does tip the scales toward expensive at $29 for a 0.07-ounce pan, but the rich, long-lasting pigment (lasts all day for me) and grains as fine as powdered sugar should help cushion the budget blow.

PRICE: $29 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Dior counters and also online

Aww no, did you put one more of these on my wish list? Grr! There are many shades in this line that look just so-so in pan, but once you swatch them you realize how special they really are!

    Happy Friday Karen!

LOVE this shade! What a great neutral to wear with coral lips for sure!
And speaking of corals, what are you wearing on your lips because I WANT it!

Oh wow, what an incredibly beautiful shade. $29 is expensive for a single eyeshadow, but if it’s that beautiful, it’s at least worth considering – there’s a lot of eyeshadow in an eyeshadow, you know?

Pretty flower! I’m stoked to try out the new monos, they have some really pretty ones! Panama is such a great colour, it looks like it has a slight silver sheen to it?

Gorgeous Karen! I have the Monos in Velvet and I just bought the Choc Clair. I’m on the fence with Panama, as I already have a bunch of similar browns. It’s very pretty in person.

I love smokey browns and the wet/dry versatility. Of course I’d have to swatch these in person to be sure.

Gosh, these better be permanent! I swatched these quickly before leaving Nordies, I didn’t want a sales lady to approach me, then bolted. I think quite a few of these are gorgeous and NEED them! Just can’t buy them anytime soon
