Gorgeous Cosmetics Colour Pro Powder Blush in Peach Glow: Bluffing My Way To Beach Babe Status, One Swipe at a Time

I need a partner in crime…

Let’s blow this gloomy popsicle stand, and fly somewhere tropical for the rest of the week.

What do ya say? Call in sick with me tomorrow? Last-minute tickets to Kauai?

I don’t know what the weather’s like where you are, but it was cloudy and rainy here today. And tomorrow’s supposed to be more of the same.

Ptooey! Here, put this orange hibiscus behind your ear…

There. Now let’s pretend we’re sitting on the beach with iced coffees and watching the waves…

Are you pretending? I hope you’re pretending with me, because if would be weird if I were just doing it alone. 🙂

You know what else is more fun in pairs? Surfing.

I’m no surf pro or anything, unless we’re talking about quickly standing up and falling down, but I have figured out that it helps to watch the water for a few minutes before paddling out. That way you get a feel for the current and where the waves are breaking first.

Hmm… I feel like we need something more to take this whole escape of ours to the next level, maybe something like Colour Pro Blush in Peach Glow from Gorgeous Cosmetics.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Colour Pro Powder Blush Peach Glow Small

The ample Aussie makeup brand recently arrived on US shores at Nordstrom stores and online. Peach Glow is the only product I’ve tried, but it was enough to color me intrigued.

I know, it’s $30. Yuck. And the compact does seem rather small (0.16 ounces), but I swear it’s like a wormhole! Gorgeous Cosmetics defied physics by squeezing a five-day tropical vacation into this one little pan.

The shimmery peach powder glides onto skin like a gentle off-shore breeze… All it takes is a single swipe of my blush brush for color that lasts all day long.

Gorgeous Cosmetics Colour Pro Powder Blush Peach Glow Swatch

After buffing out the edges, my cheeks look healthy, radiant and flushed, like we’ve been sitting under a beach umbrella for hours.

Oh, that’s right. We have! 🙂 And sinking our toes in the sand while we read Us Weekly and nibble on snacks.

PRICE: $30 for a 0.16-ounce pan (available in at least eight shades)
AVAILABILITY: Available in the US now at Nordstrom stores and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A (only thing is, it’s kinda expensive)

P.S. I was serious about the last-minute trip. Let’s go!

The new DVF Loves Roxy Collection

A few months ago I promised myself I was going to stop shopping in the Juniors department.

I figured I’m at the age where I should no longer be wearing the same clothes worn by 14-year-olds…although (it’s not fair!) some of those clothes are hella cute.

I dunno, though, I may have to break my promise over the DVF Loves Roxy Collection.

That’s DVF, as in Diane von Fürstenberg, and Roxy, as in the surf/beach wear line.

I know, right? Random. But judging by the cute printed swimsuits, it looks like it’s working.

We’ll see if I can squeeze le muffin top into one of those two-pieces… If I can’t, I may just go with one of the bags, like this tote here…

The DVF Loves Roxy Tote Bag ($68, available now at Nordstrom and online)

Onward to the hump!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love that blush! I need to check it out next time I am at nordies. Tropical vacation?! Heck yeah! Count me in! It’s been rainy and cold here in Portland the last couple of days too. I need spring to get here….

      Hi Kellie,

Me too. Portland on sunny days is AMAZING! When does it start to get warm in your neck of the woods?

Usually late May, early June. It does not get super warm until July and only stays through September.

Tropical vacation? Heck yes! Winter took a backtrack here in stockholm and we have had snowstorms for the last few days, just pack away the leather jacket again and out goes the big down parka. GIVE ME SUN AND WARMTH!

*comforts myself with makeup and pretty blushes*

      Hi Petra,

I am totally with you! I think that’s why I’ve been wearing so many corals lately…they help me feel warm, haha!

How long have you lived in Stockholm, btw? I have it on my list of places to visit.

Born and raised in the island capital of Sweden.

You really should come visit – In may and June it is absolutly beautiful here, everything is in bloom and the sun is glittering on the water *longing like crazy*

BUT bring your makeup – Sweden is not a good makeup-shopping-country 🙁 (online shopping is my salvation)

Glad you love this blush as much as I do! I did notice it was a bit pricier (with a fraction less product) than most other similar brands at Nordstrom but I have to say, at least they really delivered on the texture. I find it sooo much softer and smoother than any Nars or MAC blush I’ve ever tried!

I’m also guilty of shopping the Juniors Department but just last week on What Not To Wear, Clinton Kelly said if we’re over the age of 30 we should not be wearing juniors clothes. My theory is that as long as it’s not a dead give away we’re fine.

      Hi Katrina,

Tim Gunn says more or less the same thing. What gets me is that they have several similar styles that you’ll see in other more expensive departments for less! But yeah, I figured I shouldn’t be dressing like a high school student if I graduated from high school 20 years ago, LOL!

Hi Karen! Love your blog and your reviews. I find myself chuckling many a time at work with your comments about products.

Anywho, was wondering what you had on your face in addition to the blush – your skin looks incredible!

Oooh! Can we boogie board, too? I’m totally in. 🙂 This blush is super-pretty but I think I’m going to bring my little tube of Becca Beach Tint in Watermelon instead. It’s making me feel beachy today, despite yesterday’s snow day which left us with about a foot today. Did I mention I was in for the trip? HAHA!

Wow! What a pretty color. Definitely reminds me of my vacation to Kauai that was wayyyy too long ago! I wish I would have had that blush with me, it would’ve been perfect! I’m happy to hear it’s available at Nordstrom now.

Oh my gosh, that blush is impressive! Reminds me a bit of some of the mineral blushes by BECCA maybe? Those are totally my favs.
