A Cure for Sallow Skin: Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer

March 26th, 2013 by Karen 19 Comments

Physicians Formula's Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer in Bronzer
The $13.95 Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer in Bronzer (also available in a second version called Light Bronzer), available now at drugstores and online

In an ominous dream I had the other night, Olympic Skater Johnny Weir warned me that I was making a big mistake…

In the dream he told me two things — 1) that I didn’t have enough sequins in my wardrobe and 2) that I wasn’t wearing bronzer often enough.

I had to agree with him about the bling…

By nature, I love to sparkle. So I’m totally on board with that.

But about Johnny’s second bit of advice, I hrrumphed!

“Duuuuude,” I screamed from my dream seat next to the rink, “I wear bronzer a lot. Like all the time!”

He landed a triple axle and yelled from across the ice, “Don’t lie. I saw you at Kate Spade yesterday, and you looked tow’ up. What you need is a good golden tan bronzer. The warm, healthy glow could do you some good.”

Then he skated up to me, pulled the white scrunchie I was wearing from my hair (I never figured out why), and skated off until he disappeared into a hot pink fog…

(Yeah, I really have to stop eating those rice crispy treats before bed.)

This was one of those dreams I initially forgot about but remembered later in the day.

It was Saturday, warm and sunny outside, but I was feeling pretty crummy about being stuck indoors doing my taxes. At the time I was wearing my rattiest pajamas with a scrunchie in my hair (yes, it was white) and didn’t have on a lick of makeup.

I’d just glanced over at my pan of Physicians Formula Sexy Booster Sexy Glow Bronzer sitting on my desk when the dream occurred to me and I blurted, “Johnny Weir!”

The golden bronzer is part of a new spring collection of products designed to increase yo’ sex appeal.

“It must be a sign,” I reckoned, closing the Excel spreadsheet I was working on.

I grabbed a big, fluffy brush, swirled it in the pan of shimmery gold and tan powders, and swept the mix all over my face.

“May be worn alone or over makeup. Blend shades together and brush on powder evenly over face and neck for a sexy bronze glow. For best results on dry to very dry skin, apply moisturizer prior to using bronzer.”

The tiny flecks of shimmer, which are shiny, but not overly so, gave a soft radiance to my face, and the warm golden tan powder perked up my sallow skin without turning it orange or muddy.

And just like that, I felt about a million times better! Thanks to Johnny Weir. 🙂

You’re too funny Karen! I am on a bronzer kick recently too. I just got a new bronzer from Milani-its divided into two parts- matt and shimmer and I think it’s really flattering. And it’s huge! I really want a Guerlain Four Seasons bronzer but they are soo expensive.

Oh gosh, me too! All I want to do is play with bronzers. 🙂 I have to give that Milani one a go. It’s always good to have a matte on hand, especially for contouring.

How have you been? Did you have a good weekend? Basically all I did was work on taxes, boo. El Hub and I went on a short picnic late Saturday afternoon, and that was nice.

My weekend was pretty boring to be honest. On Sat I hang out with my friends for a bit, on Sunday usual grocery shopping and me and hubby stopped at his parents’ house for a moment. We were planning on seeing the new Bruce Wonderstone with our friends but it didn’t work out. And the weather is still cold and snowy, I am so ready for sandals and capris!

i had a weird dream, this morning, also. i blame late nights. 🙁 thanks for the reminder of bronzer. i have a compact, in my make up box, but i haven’t touched it in a while. i figure blush would liven up my face. will have to incorporate the bronzer today. it’s pretty grey outside. 🙁

I love Physician’s Formula bronzers and powders. I just got the one with the sun on it and it is lovely. I love that they have bronzers for light/medium and medium/dark skin tones so you can’t OD too much on bronzer. I also love their mineral glow pearls – they have one that is kind of a rosy, pearly shimmer just for giving your skin a glow without using bronzer, and they have ones with more of a bronze tone to them, too. I am addicted to their bronzers and mineral glow pearls!

Sometimes, when I don’t feel like wearing makeup, I’ll just put bronzer on. Weirdly, it makes a big difference.

And dude, Dream Johnny Weir, is, like, psychic or something. If you see him in your dreams again, you should totally take notes.

I am NC 42, Indian skin tone. Bronzer does nothing for me. Blush and eyeliner perks me up. I use brozer to contour

I love Physicians Formula’s creativity in their products and packaging and I do stop by the end cap at the drug store and have a look, but ugh .. I just don’t think their products are very good 🙁
