Super Charged Pigments and a Naughty, Frosty Finish Set MAC’s Hot Nights Powder Blush Ablaze

May 3rd, 2013 by Karen 16 Comments

MAC Hot Nights Blush
The new MAC Hot Nights Blush from the Temperature Rising summer collection, $23

MAC Hot Nights Powder Blush is for those times when you want your cheeks to look like they’re “glistening” (let’s not call it sweating; it’s not nearly as cute), like after some hot hubba-hubba action or a seriously vigorous elliptical session at the gym.

MAC Hot Nights Blush

Got time? I hope so, because I wouldn’t even bother with this berry pink unless I had a few extra minutes for blending. That’s how pigmented it is. But I think it’s worth every second, especially if the theme of your evening is, “huntress on the prowl…”

MAC Hot Nights Blush

Where Ripe For Love, the other blush from the Temperature Rising collection, can pull off naughty or nice, Hot Nights can’t.

Because it’s straight up naughty (which is nice). 🙂

MAC Hot Nights Blush swatch
Howdy, pigment!

There’s something wanton and reckless about it, like standing too close to someone you know is off limits but you really, really want to kiss.

I think it’s the frosty finish…

MAC Hot Nights Blush

If you decide to take Hot Nights out for a spin, treat it to tanned skin, or wear it with copious amounts of bronzer, or layer it on top of a shimmery golden highlighter like MAC’s Golden Elixir Strobe Liquid Lotion (also from the Temperature Rising collection) for cheeks that blaze with fiery desire.

Best for: pigment fanatics, or anyone with bronzed or tanned skin, a naughty streak and extra time to blend.

PRICE: $23 for a 0.21-ounce pan
AVAILABILITY: Limited edition, coming May 16 to maccosmetics.com and May 23 to MAC counters and stores

Damn, now I don’t know if I will buy Ripe For Love or Hot Nights! I can’t afford both.

Both are pretty awesome, girlfriend. Maybe check your collection to see if you have any gaps? I’d say Ripe For Love is definitely more summery.

Oh HOOOOT! I’m sure I won’t be able to pull this off with my current skin tone (around NC25). Maybe later when I’ve soaked up some sun though! When I swatched it I noticed some bigger pieces of shimmer. I think I see a fleck or two in the swatch photo too. Do you spot them on your cheeks?

You could do it! Just use a fan brush and a light touch. 🙂

No flecks, I think that’s leftover glitter from who knows what, haha! I find it everywhere. On my skin, in my hair, on Tabs’ fur…

This looks so good on your skin tone Karen! It’s hot for sure ^^. I really love shades like these, they are easy to wear for me and you only need just a tiny amount. 🙂

Wow, this is one beautiful color! Ripe for Love is more my kind of shade but I might try this one on when I have a chance to go to the store (if it’s not sold out by then…). I love how intense it looks, it makes me think of crushed raspberries (yummy!).

Do you know how this compares to the Tarte Amazonian clay blush in Flush?
