Unsung Makeup Heroes: Dolce & Gabbana Peach Blush

June 11th, 2013 by Karen 31 Comments

Dolce & Gabbana Peach Blush
Wearing Dolce & Gabbana Peach Blush ($45) on my cheeks

A couple years ago I wore this blush all the time. Almost daily.

Dolce & Gabbana Peach was my jam!

Actually, now that I think about it, it still is, and if I ever had to commit to just one blush for the rest of my life (the horror!), this could be it.

Boy, that sure would be tough, though… Every day seems to bring a pretty, new pan to discover/devour.

But I’ve always come back to Peach. It just never looks fake or heavy-handed. And it blends easily, looks great layered with bronzer or all by itself alone, and it lasts all day long, too.

Among peach blushes, that’s the total package right there.

This neutral, matte peachy pink creates a natural-looking cheek flush on a wide range of skin tones from light to dark, and I’m hard pressed to find a lip color it doesn’t work well with.

Dolce & Gabbana Peach Blush 2

I’ve often wondered if other blush lovers like it as much as I do, so when Dolce & Gabbana’s new National Artist, Christian McCulloch, called it one of his all-time faves, I felt a tinge of blush validation.

The long-running Unsung Heroes series features some of my favorite permanent collection products from a variety of bodacious beauty brands. 🙂

Peach resides in Dolce & Gabbana’s permanent collection and is available now at counters and online. It’s $45, so it’s not exactly cheap, but that’s not a surprise coming from Dolce & Gabbana.

That said, if you’re looking for a new blush to love, particularly a matte peachy pink that looks effortless on the skin, give it a swipe one of these days.

Good mornin’!

Happy Tuesday, sweets. 🙂 It’s a chilly one out here in the North Bay Area. Where’d my sunshine go? I woke up extra early this morning because Tabs decided to turn my tummy and chest into his wonderland at around 5 a.m.

For the record, a 20-pound cat using your body as a springboard is a jolting way to wake up.

But, I have a cup of coffee here in front of me now, so all is good.

Enjoy the rest of your morning, and have a wonderful day.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Good morning,Karen! It’s 1pm here in MI so I am sipping on my 3rd cup of coffee already 🙂

That peach blush does look beautiful and I can see how it could be an every day go to shade. I remember the times (probably 5 years ago) when I used to have only one blush and use it all the time. But I always tried to pick it very carefully so it’d definitely match my complexion.

Good afternoon, Agata! I hope things out your way are grrrrreat. I raise my cup of tea to you, *cheers.*

About 12 years ago I went through a phase where I wore the same color on my cheeks every single day. It was MAC Blushbaby. I don’t wear it as much, but still love it. What was the color you used to wear all the time?

Hope the weather out there is nice. It’s so cold here all of the sudden.

It’s a nice day out here but I am stuck inside working. Hopefully I will manage to go for a walk in the evening.

When I was younger I used to love Bourjouis blushes, I dont remember the shade. But it was a blush my mom always used to wear 🙂 After that I loved a Collistar blusher in Candy Pink. It’s an Italian make up brand and they have amazing products.

Ah, Bourjois! Sephora carried the line back in the day. I remember playing with the blushes and thinking that they were really cool.

I’ve never heard of Collistar, but if I ever go back to Italy I’ll definitely have to look it up.

Hope your work day flies by fast! It’s going okay on this end. Tabs hasn’t been too demanding, LOL!

Love this shade! The only blush I wore everyday was MAC Cream Soda – but that lasted about a month haha.

Ha, I know what you mean! I get stuck on one color and then next thing you know something else comes along. What blush are you wearing these days?

It’s a great color on you! You and I have the opposite problem with blush commitment. HAHA!

I hope you’re having a good Tuesday, despite the early wake up call. It’s rainy and dismal here (and the boys have a baseball game tonight) so it’s pretty depressing out this way, too. 🙁 Weather-wise, I should say!

      Hey Kim,

Stay dry at the game tonight. Are you coaching?

Thank goodness, it was postponed! 🙂 I’m just assisting this year so my main responsibility is keeping the book and yelling encouragement. It’s a lot less work but I think I’ll go back to head coaching next year (says the control freak). HAHA!

Oh good. It’s no fun to play in the rain at night, boo!

I kind of love that you’re a control freak. Maybe that’s why we get along so well. 😀

Hope this week has been a little easier for you! I know last week was nuts.

HAHA! I know, right? I always think I’ll be fine with someone else doing things but then it bugs me more that it’s not being done “right”. And, of course, my way is always right. 😉

Oh, sadly this week is even worse. At least I have a bit more time to check in – your posts always make me more cheerful!

    Hi Karen,

Gorgeous blush! Do you know how it compares to the recent Ripe for Love blush by MAC? I have been loving that one recently, and it looks kind of similar…

      Hi Kuhika,

This one’s lighter, matte and more pink than peach.

A really pretty peachy/pink. I wish they named the product better though as it’s not quite a peach blush. I’ll have to write D&G a letter on their product names .. lol.

You know, now that I think about it, I’m not sure I have a neutral-peach blush in my collection. I am appalled right now, being the peachy-blush lover that I am!! 😛 Definitely need to go swatch this one, I bet I would fall head over heels in love! 😀
