If you ever need to find Tabs, check the hallway. He enjoys chillin’ there on the ’70s-style disco tiles. I think he likes them because the tiles are cool when the rest of the house is hot…and probably also because they match the color of his furry tum. 🙂
It’s so cute! — except when he makes me step over him whenever I have to walk through the hall, like he’s guarding it, or when he swipes at my ankles because he hates what I’m wearing (which is most of the time).
I really need to start charging him rent…

I never catch my cats on tile when its hot. Probably because they’re busy hiding in the basement on the concrete floor (much cooler there, I assume).
I also have a swatter. More like a ….”pouncer”. When she was a kitten, she would pounce at my feet everytime I walked by. I learned to walk through the house with high knees so as to shorten the amount of time my feet were within pouncing range….it didn’t work.

There used to be a big Marmie down the street from my doctor’s office that just chilled out on the sidewalk in Ann Arbor like this, making you pet him when you went by.
What a sign of trust! My cats do the same thing, not even a flinch when I step by or over them. This indicates how much they trust you…not worried that they will be hurt. Plus, you know, tabs is the real owner of your space and since he is kitty royalty he shouldn’t have to move an inch of his handsome self for anyone!! Boy do I love cats and their take on life.
