Two of my favorite things: Starbucks and Sephora.
Starbucks. Don’t ask me why because I’m not really sure, but last night El Hub and I watched three hours of a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills marathon, which was actually a lot of fun, except that it kept us up way past midnight, but we told ourselves that we were going to get Starbucks this morning, “Because we’re grownups like that, and we can get Starbucks if we want to.”
And we do. 🙂
So now I’m getting ready to go get my caffeine on, haaay! And I’m so excited! I can’t stop using exclamation marks!
And Sephora. Of course you knew this one already, but Sephora is one of the greatest stores on this or any planet, and here in Novato it’s conveniently located in the very same Vintage Oaks shopping center as the closest Starbucks.

Two things I’m excited about lately: nail polish (which is so weird because usually I’m not)and Thrifty’s ice cream. My local Rite Aid just got renovated and they’re going to be serving Thrifty’s ice cream! If you’ve never had this ice cream before, totally try to find it, it’s worth it!

I prefer an electric toothbrush because I feel like you’re a deep clean similar to when you visit a dentist’s office and although an electric toothbrush can be on the pricey side of things it’s totally worth it in my opinion.

It’s eternally depressing that I can no longer drink anything with caffeine, but I really like the cake pops from Starbucks! And I will always reach for hair ties before the rest since I have 2-3 on my wrist at any given time.

Since you asked….in college I worked at a place called California Smoothie. I got fired so quickly because I could not no matter what, remember the ingredients in all the smoothies. It drove me crazy as well as my boss. I hated that place. I moved on to working at the Nature Company and loved it, especially the chocolate and candy samples.

Pocket knife! I can use it to excise precancerous moles, but I can’t break open a coconut with SPF 55!
I’ve discovered the Misto, which is half regular coffee and half steamed milk. I get skim milk and Blonde roast if they have it. It’s actually more caffeine than a latte and costs half as much, with lots of good protein from the milkand only 100 calories in a grande. Add some Splenda and a sprinkle of nutmeg and it’s good.
My favorite, though, is the Toffee Nut Latte with whipped creme, a caramel drizzle, and toffee chips on top. Yummy yummy. So naughty.

My husband heard from a coworker once that the pain we feel when losing an animal companion is the price for all of the joy thy brought us in life. That saying helped me when I lost my beloved childhood cat a couple of years ago.

I still have 4 little loves, but you know when they’re special like that, you can never replace them! You just love who you have and move on, always remembering. And yes, there are dog and cat heavens. Where they wait for us with slobbering wet kisses and ankle and forehead rubs. We will see them again, never doubt that, Karen. >^.^<

When I got my Sonicare toothbrush 10 years ago, it changed my oral hygeine forever. My teeth feel cleaner longer and I get compliments every dentist visit. I’ll never go back to a manual toothbrush.
My favorite lip balm is Medicated Chapstick. I keep trying to find a cruelty-free replacement for it, but I haven’t been able to find one that I like yet.

My favorite Starbucks drink kind of depends on the weather. In the summer, I tend to like Iced Green Tea with stevia, but in the winter, oh geez. It’s ON, haha. Caramel Macchiato, extra foam and an extra shot of espresso is my all-time favorite though.

I’m not a fan of Starbucks for coffee, but sometimes if I want dessert I’ll get a Frappuccino…for a while they had a coconut mocha-type one that I really liked. It had toasted coconut on top, mmmm.

Usually I like something simple, like an Iced Latte with coconut or cinnamon syrup. Last time I treated myself to a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino with cinnamon syrup & it was SO GOOD.. almost like a Snickerdoodle cookie. Good thing I hardly ever go to Starbucks, because it would be hard to resist getting that all the time.
PS: I’m no Grammar Nazi, but I have to point out that you put DESSERT Island, only because it’s so darn funny. I thought you had some scenario going where if we could have an island where we’d have our favorite desserts, what would they be. Kind of like our own personal Candy Lands. 😉

Yay Starbucks! They are awesome, but I try not to get anything to often. I love their black tea and lemonades, and the green tea frappucino is awesome, but it’s really not good for me. I figured out how to make my own at home with only 60 calories instead of 450.
Well, I freaking love Sephora, but the only one that’s less than like 6 hours away is a mini one in my J.C. Penney =( but, I’m still super excited about it, they only just put it in recently and I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked in and saw it!! =D

I hate scrunchies. I love starbucks sparkling teas!! My fav lip balm is actually honey lipgloss by urban decay, soooo moisturizing, better then burts bees, chapstick, etc. id grab a knife for a deserted island and stuff the sunscreen in my bra.

I think I have an addiction to watching colourful makeup tutorials (some of my favourites are from Pixiwoo and MissChievous)…as for lip balms, I consistently use Johnson’s baby oil gel- it’s super moisturizing and I love it!
Years back I had an internship at Roy’s Waikoloa. When it was over, I couldn’t wait to get back to the mainland. Now, I’d love for the opportunity to move back to Hawaii, although I probably wouldn’t want to work in a kitchen again. =)

if you have a bathtub and visit moonsharvest.com they have so many fanastic things that are affordable, and I am beyond in love with their bath bombs. Everything they make is moisturizing, even the bubble bars, and they make your order for you when you order it. Just so you know your stuff isnt stale and sitting around for a while.

Oddly enough, my favorite lip product is a men’s product! It is from Sephora and the brand is called Jack Black. They have a variety of scents such as Vanilla, Mint, Lemon, and Grapefruit (my favorite). They do not have a sweet taste, which is great, but they are all SO fragrant and wake up the senses when applied! I have tried hundreds upon hundreds of lip products for moisture, but this brand DEFINITELY takes the cake! I hope you all try them out and love them as much as I do!!! xx-Lana

I love the pics you posted of her–she was a pretty girl and I could tell just by looking at her that she was a calm and sweet soul. Do you have the Rainbow Bridge prayer?
One thing that helps me when I lose a pet is to make a donation in their name to the shelter/rescue group they came from or to a research fund.

Favorite lip balm…I actually stopped wearing lip balm. Gloss or lipstick during the day, then nothing at other times and my lips are much better than they were when I used to use lip balm morning, noon, night.

I was at Big Lots today and I happened to come across some extremely cheap cosmetics while I was there. They had drugstore brands as well as high end. Then she bought me one on my birthday to surprise me; however, I found out that it wasn’t much different from manual toothbrush. I ended up feeling bad because it was a waste of money for my mom. 🙁
Best Youtube makeup tutorial I’ve ever since is a video from frmheadtotoe “How to Apply Blush & Highlighter.” I was amazed how just a little touch could make such a huge difference on her face. Makeup is AMAZING.

Before, I’d never spend $12 for just a lip balm, that sounded too fancy for me. And Korres lip butter has been my lips saver ever since.
