Fact: bright lips give me life. Whenever I’m in an especially sassy mood, a great vibrant lipstick always hits the spot. One of my go-to drugstore brands for statement lipstick is Revlon. Revlon Fire & Ice Super Lustrous Lipstick is an iconic shade that was launched in the 1950s. Depending on your skin’s undertones, Fire & Ice can pull warm or cool, but there’s no denying that it’s a stunner.

When wearing a red lipstick like Fire & Ice, I have to be extra careful to conceal all the redness out of my skin, or risk looking feverish. Instead of blush, I lightly dust my face with bronzer. Then, I fill in my brows, and wear something simple on my eyes like a flicked eyeliner, or a subtle smudging of grey or brown eyeliner.

The long-running Unsung Heroes series features much-loved permanent collection products from a variety of bodacious beauty brands.

As with my other vibrant lip shades, I adapt Fire & Ice to whatever I’m doing that day. Going in for a day at the office? Lightly press over lip balm for a sheer stain. Wanna dress to impress at an evening event? In this case, I apply straight from the tube and precisely shape the lines with a lip brush.

On me, Fire & Ice leans more tomato red, but on others it may look more coral or pink. I love the Revlon Super Lustrous line because they are creamy and incredibly comfortable to wear. Honestly, the colour payoff rivals that of high-end lipsticks. At under $10, this is a no-brainer. Prepare to turn some heads with this lipstick on. 😉 Joan Holloway, is that you?!

Do you own any Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks in your makeup stash? Have you met Fire & Ice?

I love Fire & Ice! I picked a tube up a few years ago, when Revlon launched a LE in its vintage 50s tube. It really is a great color, on me it pulls a lot of pretty orange undertones.

Hi Kalli! I wish I knew about the vintage tube. I’ve seen them online and they are so gorgeous!

A classic! I used to love Revlon lipsticks, but the formula became drying for me. This color makes me want to try it again.

Hi Nik! Do you find the Super Lustrous drying as well? I find that the Colorburst line sucks moisture out of my lips, but SL is really moisturizing. 🙂

Love “Fire and Ice” as a lip-stain that’s how I wear it too :). It’s such a classic color! Love the look on you, Arianne!

I own three Revlon super Lustrous lipsticks: Kiss Me Coral (a lovely coral), Cherries In The Snow (bright raspberry) and Slate (muted nude brown). The reason I bought Cherries In The Snow was because I heard rave reviews of it online, and the fact that it was a classic vintage shade introduced in the 1950s made me crave is even more. Now that I’ve found out there’s a whole list of vintage Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks (Stormy Pink, Fire And Ice, Pink In The Afternoon, and Really Red to name a few), I want ALL of them! xD Next on my list is Really Red; I heard it’s a close dupe of MAC Ruby Woo.

I have this lipstick too! I also have a problem with it drying out my lips after a few hours even if I put lip balm on underneath. Nevertheless, it’s a beautiful color!

I love the texture and finish of most of Revlon lippies. I haven’t tried out Fire and Ice yet but it looks totally fab on you Arianne 🙂

That Fire and Ice lipstick looks great on you Arianne. I’ve been off red for a while but I feel I shall be getting back on it again.

I own this and several other Revlon Super lustrous lipsticks. I really like them a lot especially: Raspberry bite,Violet frenzy, and Love that Pink. I agree that they are as good as high end lipsticks. Nice cat eye!

Raspberry Bite is a favourite of mine, too, but it’s been discontinued, right Denise?

I have been looking at the Fire & Ice color but was afraid it would be too bright. I am about the same complexion as you and I think I’m going to go for it. I also love Cherries in the snow. I recently bought a lot of vintage lipstick tubes and one was an unused color called Cherries a la mode. Beautiful pink coral color. I believe it’s discontinued though.
