This is a story about love…

It begins with a young girl who learned early on that blush was a staple in her regime; a driving force in her life. She started off slowly, using whatever her mom helped her choose.

One day, she graduated from Cover Girl Cheekers to Physicians Formula blushes. That big step marked the beginning of her blush addiction — choosing to spend upwards of $10 on a blush when there were perfectly good blushes for $3 or $4. At that point, there was no going back. This girl was hopelessly in love with loving blushes.

Years later, said girl had been ’round the proverbial blush block. Now a connoisseur, purchasing in ranges from cheap-cheap to drugstore to high-end, she had a sizable number of blush compacts in her collection.

I apologize for getting philosophical with you, but here goes: they say once a person has too many options, the person can begin to feel paralyzed when forced to make a decision.

During this type of inner turmoil, it’s common to see a person revert back to what feels most comfortable to her. Some outsiders label this phenomenon, “getting stuck in a rut”. Others recognize this as an allegiance of true love and devotion.

These times of abundance can bring out the deep connection between a woman and her absolute favorite makeup products.

See where I’m going with this?

Confession: blush girl = me.

Overwhelmed, I picked up my tried-and-true Physicians Formula Powder Palette blush in Blushing Berry (about $10) and began to use it every day. We had a torrid rekindling of our romance, and I hit pan quickly. I knew I had to repurchase. Again.

The long-running Makeup and Beauty Blog Unsung Heroes series features much-loved permanent collection products from a variety of bodacious beauty brands.

In my twenty-some years, I’ve committed to Blushing Berry Multi-Colored Blush because the color is always right for my skintone and doesn’t get lost on my golden complexion. I always look instantly healthy and awake with B.B., and it’s forgiving when I accidentally have a heavy hand.

Blushing Berry is a diamond in the drugstore rough and isn’t overly complicated. It understands me and I understand it.

I’m happy to announce that Blushing Berry and I are going steady now. We’re about to take it to the next level and make it Facebook-official soon.

Have you ever rekindled a past makeup love?

    I love your writing style!

Illamasqua’s Naked Rose would have to be the blush I reach for everyday. It’s not complicated, looks good on most skin tones and smells like cocoa:)

    Blushing Berry looks pretty tempting.

Thanks, Nicole, I appreciate that! I googled Illamasqua’s Naked Rose and it looks like a great color. I’ll have to check that out. As for Blushing Berry, definitely give it a shot. PF coupons and sales make the deal even better!
