MAC Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Powerline Endows Your Cat Eyeliner Looks With More Meow!

September 11th, 2013 by Karen 26 Comments

MAC Powerline
Lower lash liner by MAC Powerline; cat lady sweater by Target

The sweater? What, this old thing? You like? Yeah, it’s from Target, and no, one does not have to be feline obsessed to wear it with cat eyeliner. In fact, if you are a cat lady makeup lover, it really helps drive home the point. 🙂

I have a special place in my heart for cat eyeliner (and cat sweaters)…

This pretty much sums up our entire relationship

A big part of this cat liner look, obvs, is the liner flick action on the upper lash lines, but what about the lower lash lines? What should we do there?

I suppose we could leave ’em bare, but where’s the fun in that?

MAC Powerline
Muted gold MAC Powerline

One way to infuse your lower lash and water lines with more meow is to line them with gold liner. Lately, to wear with my cat eye liner looks, I’ve been loving on MAC’s Pro Longwear Eye Liner in Powerline ($19.50). It adds just a little oomph without overpowering the whole look (I mean, because you don’t want to take away from that sweater, you know?).

Like, if MAC sent Powersurge Eye Kohl away to boot camp, it would come back as MAC Powerline, totally ripped and able to do one-armed push-ups and wrestle Terminators, Sarah Connor-style.

Like a slightly darker Powersurge, Powerline has a shimmery golden bronze thing going on, but it’s also a tad softer and smoother than Powersurge and glides more easily along my lower lash and water lines.

Weartime? From 6-7 hours. Pigment? Intense! (I only need 1-2 layers.)

If you’re ready to elevate your cat lady-ness to unprecedented levels, try incorporating Powerline along your lower lash and water lines the next time you wear a cat eyeliner look…and don’t be surprised if you start pawing at yo’ hot self when you look in the mirror. 🙂

Check out MAC Powerline purring now on MAC counters, in stores and online.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Karen, you look beautiful here! Powerline really suits you. As does your awesome sweater (hehe). Your cat eyeliner is looking fine as well. Thanks for sharing! I’m going to have to get Powerline the next time I’m in MAC (so like….tomorrow).

Thank you. 🙂 Oooh, what are you going to check out at the counter besides Powerline?

I’ll have to check out some of the new matte lippies, if my MAC has any left. Hopefully they aren’t too drying, they looks so rad on the lips.

Oh, you won’t be disappointed. You might have to baby your lips before and after (such is the case with mattes), but you’ll LOVE how they look both in real life and in pics. I’m wearing one of the shades in these photos, by the way — All Fired Up! I love it.

      Hi Vanessa,

He totally hates sharing the camera, LOL. If it’s not him filling the frame then he’s not having it!

Haha! If that ever happened I’d have to be wearing cat eyes in the sweater, LOL! It’s only right.

Definitely Black looks like it could rival most Indian kohls! Good on MAC for putting out an intense black liner.

Oh and I agree with another poster about the lipstick– I just recently bought Tom Ford’s Crimson Noir after seeing it on you. It’s my new favorite red. =)

Hey Karen, the sweater and Tabs crack me up! Powerline looks like a shade I’d love! I never use black on my lower lash line (or when I do, I smudge it with an eyeshadow that is not), and these look like shades I’d happily sport 🙂

Cuteness overload! You two look so adorable and ready for a cozy fall snuggle fest. Powerline is gorgeous- reminds me of Laura Mercier Black Gold. Burning questions- What nail color are you sporting? DId you get the matching kitty cat leggings? 🙂

I think I actually did a GAH! for you. I knew you bought the sweater but it’s different to see you wearing it. It’s awesome! Oh, and you remind me of a teen model from an old JC Penney catalog in that pic with Tabs – in a happy and youthful sense. 🙂
