Never you mind that I’m 3,678 degrees of separation away from royalty. Even in glasses, my tow-up jeans with the hole in the left butt cheek, and my over-sized cat lady leopard sweater (yo, I’m stylin’ and profilin’ every day of my life!), I feel hella regal wearing Dior’s new $36 Diorific Lipstick in Royale. 🙂

A royally beautiful pink

Royale, a member of the House of Dior’s new Golden Winter holiday collection, pulls up to Dior counters in its royal carriage next month. A creamy neutral pink with little bits of golden glitter (visible to anyone who gets up in your grill, but not so much from an arm’s length away), it shimmers with secret lipstick sparkle.

Somebody hand me my scepter, and CHOP-CHOP! — make it snappy. I don’t remember where I left it, but it looks like this lipstick’s limited edition packaging. I know it’s around here somewhere… Like the lipstick, it’s gold, curvy and aristocratic.

If I had a scepter, it would look like this…only longer

By proclamation, as the ruler of the Empire of Messyofficia, I name Royale the Official Pink Lipstick of the Royal Court for the following three reasons…

  1. The lovely light rose flavor and scent, which linger as long as I wear it
  2. The lightweight, yet full-coverage formula
  3. The potent moisturizing power and wear time of 3-4 hours

Her royal cat lady-ness (glasses by bebe)

Now I know what to wear on my lips if I ever hang out with royalty. I mean, you never know when you’ll be asked to stand on a beautiful balcony somewhere and wave to an adoring crowd.

Until then, I’ll practice standing in front of my window and waving to my neighbors, haha. 🙂

It’s her royal cat lady-ness, the queen of the suburbs!

PRICE: $36
AVAILABILITY: Coming soon to Dior counters and Dior.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A- (it is quite expensive)

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Happy Thursday, babe.

I don’t know. I am not blown away by it. That said, it by no means looks bad either 🙂 I guess I feel neutral about it. There.

I actually really love pinks in this tone. I think they just always look good! The packaging is awesome, and the moisturizing fourmula sounds perfect for winter.

      Hi Natalie,

Me too. They’re wearable and you can always layer them with other shades! Happy Friday, btw. What are your plans for the weekend?

Happy Thursday! It’s a pretty color but I’m afraid that you must bow down to me as the Queen of Messyofficia. I’m mostly a benevolent ruler and chances are you’ll never see me under all this clutter anyway. 🙂

      Hi Kim,

You are the ruler of the royal office mess, lady! I’m your humble court jester. 😉

Will you be dressing up along with the boys this year?

HAHA! Well, your posts always do make me laugh/brighten my day! 🙂

No, we had our grown up party last weekend and a bunch of us dressed up as characters from the movie Slap Shot (of course, we did… silly hockey parents).

Well your comments always make me happy. I’m sorry if I’ve been MIA. Lots going on here with Tabs, LOL.

Okay…I have to admit that I’ve NEVER heard of that movie.

Speaking of movies, HOLY CRAP. They currently have the original Carrie on Netflix and I finally got around to watching. It is really disturbing!

      Hi Sylvia,

What Dior holiday products are you liking this year? Have you seen any of the palettes?

The Neiman Marcus store in my area has received the whole collection, but I paid more attention to the nail lacquers than to the lipsticks! I think this shade is pretty but easily dupable so I would pass anyway.

The packaging is divine! It looks like something that was taken out of a David Eddings fantasy book, IMHO. I tend to wear long lasting lipsticks. Perhaps, a lip liner can prolong its wear?

Dior has been KILLING me with the packaging for their past two holidays collections. It’s so irrisistibly adorable! Really nice shade, too…I don’t tend to do bold colours on my lips so I like very wearable, everyday colours like this.

      Hi Jess,

I love everyday colors like this, too, especially for higher-end products. You want to be able to wear them all the time, right? Have you had the chance to see any of the palettes yet? I was at Nordie’s last week and saw them; they’re pretty cute.

      Happy Friday!
