For the NARSissists Among Us: The New $49 NARS NARSissist Cheek Kit

Because, ya know, what the world *really* needed was another NARS blush palette with Orgasm and Laguna.

Le sigh…

I love ya, NARS, and I love both of those shades, but it sure would be nice to see a blush palette without the usual suspects.

NARS Cosmetics is bringing out your inner NARSissist with the introduction of the NARSissist Cheek Palette. Named for and inspired by the brand’s devoted fans and cult followers, this inaugural palette showcases the brand’s most iconic products and beloved shades for cheeks.

OK, sure, the new NARSissist Cheek Kit does also come with Devotee, a limited edition shimmery peachy pink highlighter, and a cute mini blush brush (so soft!), so it’s not simply Orgasm and Laguna (silver linings, right?).

Might be something to consider, especially if you’re trying to streamline or don’t have any of these shades.

The whole kit and caboodle arrives February 1 exclusively to Sephora and sephora.com.

I agree, I would have been all over that palette if the shades weren’t ones I already own. I’m surprised by the size of the palette, it is quite big!

Looks beautiful in the palette, but a bit to shiny on the skin. Probably a bit to shimmery for me.

I really liked Devotee and hated to see it go when I returned One Night Stand but this is just a mess. Nars could have kept this. Please retire orgasm and Laguna in 2014!

I think this is an amazing palette for someone who doesn’t own any of the shades, however as someone who owns orgasm and an orgasm/laguna duo I definitely won’t be purchasing this. Such a shame, it’s such a nice concept but NARS really does need to try incorporating some other shades..

I agree totally that it would have been better if they had put maybe a different blush and/or bronzer into this palette. I know Orgasm and Laguna are super popular…but that probably means that most ‘NARSissists’ probably already have them…right?

…and therefore don’t really need this palette…doing NARS out of sales from the very fans they’re aiming this towards?

    Colour me confused!

Actually I just ran out of my Orgasm/Laguna duo, so I may purchase this. Wouldn’t mind trying devotee.

Seriously, Nars releases this palette every few months! Sure, Orgasm is a nice blush, but it is not my favorite. I’m a big fan of Mounia blush, which I never see anywhere!

Too bad these aren’t new/unique shades, or I’d snatch it up!

Btw, what’s your favorite blush brush? 🙂

I own no NARS (ok maybe a lipgloss mini?) So I may grab this! It does seem like the perfect way to get started with NARS. I’ve mostly avoided it so far because I have Benefit coralista which seemed similar to orgasm.

Thank GOD someone else said it–I was beginning to think I was the only one! Every time Nars releases yet another LE cheek set with both Laguna AND Orgasm, I feel confused. I mean really, I know those 2 are topsellers but c’mon! 😛

Huh? AGAIN? Orgasm has been around for so long and made an appearance in virtually every blush palette NARS has made. By now there are pretty much two categories of people: those who own it already and those who don’t want it anyways. It’d be nice to see something else!

OMG for the love of ray j can we STOOOOOP wit the laguna/orgasm PLEASE!!! i mean i actually the hype of laguna is more for lighter tones becuz it dmn sure dnt show up on my med drk complexion so i use casino!! thats what i’d looove to see recognized for more WOC!! and by now EVERYONE should already own orgasm so i think we can safely retire this shade from palettes!

That kit looks awesome. I already own 2 Orgasm blushes (the Multiple and the regular powder version), and I think it’s a great blush. I can see where people would love this, and I can see where people would be bored with this. If I’m going to buy something limited edition or a collection, I like to see new shades. On the other hand, if it’s cheaper for me to buy Devotee, Orgasm, and Laguna together rather than separately, I love those kits. NARS Super Orgasm was too sparkly – I had given that one to my mom and she wasn’t a huge fan. Shoulda stuck with Orgasm, she still really likes that one but has other favorites, too. I cheat on Orgasm from time to time but I always end up coming back to it because it’s the most flattering shade on me.

If you don’t have any of the shades yet, then this palette would be a great buy. As for me, I’ll pass.

Actually, I really like it! I’ve never bought the Orgasm blush (no Sephoras where I live) and I’ve always wanted to try Laguna. Also, Albatross never appealed to me, too golden, so this (to me) is a really nice palette. 🙂 But I get most people are over these shades.

This blush palette makes me want to curse. It’s horribly uneventful (to me). But I suppose it’s bliss to the 6 women who don’t own at least two of these shades.

Hi Karen, do you know how the pigmentation of the powders in this palette compare with the regular Orgasm/Laguna? I’ve had my eye on those for a while and might just spring for this now they’ve included a highlight, but I’ve heard that the powders in some previous palettes were sub-par. Thanks a bunch!

I think I’m the only person who doesn’t like orgasm. If this was a palette with the new pinks that came out that would be different.

I’m underwhelmed. Nars used to be virtually the only brand I bought – then after a run of strange collections (that Warhol then crazy summer thing last year) I thought the offerings improved and started buying a few items from new collections. These two palettes baffle me. If you have a lot of Nars you don’t need them; so they must be an attempt to lure people from other brands? Interesting choices….I guess…

This is a great palette for someone who doesn’t own a lot of makeup or is just starting out. But for me (and for a lot of people it seems), I already own Orgasm and Laguna. Sleek Makeup also has a product that looks almost exactly like this.

I also have an Orgasm/Laguna duo but now I wish I’d waited for this instead. I like the idea of Devotee and a brush blush being included. I guess it’s good for people who go through a lot of both shades (O and L) but I can certainly see how others are like, “OK, NARS… move on!”
