Sheer, Why Not? To the New Physicians Formula Nude Wear Nude Glow Makeup Collection, Sheer, You May Glow

January 20th, 2014 by Karen 23 Comments

Three of the seven pretty pieces in the new Physicians Formula Nude Wear Nude Glow makeup collection, available at drugstores now…

OK, so even if rose gold has jumped the shark, and I’m not saying it has, I don’t care. I’m not over it yet, and apparently Physicians Formula isn’t either, because it’s all over their new Nude Wear Nude Glow makeup collection like attitude on cats. 🙂

What’s up with the new Physicians Formula Nude Wear Nude Glow collection?

  • How ’bout lingerie? The pieces were designed to feel like luxurious lingerie on the skin.
  • The formula feels as light as a feather, almost like nothing at all, and the finish is practically, except for a gorgeously understated glow, invisible.
  • We are talkin’ sheer! Hence the name, the products have something PF calls “Nude Glow” pigments — translucent pigments, as opposed to traditional opaque pigments, that allow your skin’s natural color and radiance to show through.
  • The seven-piece collection includes the Nude Wear Nude Glow Powders ($14.95 each, and available in Light and Medium); Nude Wear Nude Glow Bronzers ($14.95 each, available in Light Bronzer and Bronzer); Nude Wear Nude Glow Blushes ($12.95 each, available in Rose and Natural); and one Nude Wear Nude Glow ($12.95, available in a single shade, Touch of Glow).
  • All have been added to the Physicians Formula permanent line, and are available now at drugstores, in many grocery stores and also online.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Nude Glow Blush in Natural

  • A pinkish peach powder blush with an opalescent glow.
  • I bet this one would look pretty as a highlighter.
  • Hello, sheer! Super sheer! — and totally fool-proof. Perfect if you tend to be heavy-handed with blush.

  • Whoa! There must be 10 pounds of disco glitter in that overspray! Thank goodness it (the overspray) wears away… There’s way too much glitter there for me at first.
  • Like the blush, this one’s sheer times 12! It doesn’t really show up well on my NC42 skin.
  • Probably better for pale pretties and others who want a light semblance of all-over bronzing, rather than a straight-up contour color.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Nude Glow Powder in Medium

  • Again with the gobs o’ glitter in the overspray!
  • And again, sheer. There’s hardly any pigment in this one at all.
  • Good for cutting down on shine and adding a soft, barely-there peach glow to the skin. Other than that, though, not much coverage to speak of from this one.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Nude Glow Touch of Glow

  • This one’s a sheer peachy pink pen highlighter.
  • If MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter in Bright Forecast came in a pinker color…
  • I love how lightweight this one feels and how easily it blends, but it looks grayish, for some reason, on my skin. Might be a better fit for lighter lasses and cooler skin tones.

Oh man, these are so girly!! 😀 The vibe of this packaging really reminds me of the 2012 MAC Holiday collections — Making Pretty in particular.

I’m not so sure how I feel about super-sheer, but I’m willing to give PF a pass on this one. They’ve definitely proven that they can deliver on pigment, which makes me feel like this is intentional rather than just a company skimping on production costs.

How cute is that highlighting pen? Pity they’re not up on iHerb yet, my only means of getting anything by Physicians Formula!

The packaging is just amazingly pretty with that little bow and lovely shades too. I’ve heard rumors that you can get Physician’s formula in the UK, so I’ll definitely go hunting for these :o) Xx

The bronzer looks pretty! Everything else is meh. I get the sheer concept but this line is so darn limited in range it’s ridiculous. It does save me a bit of money though lol. I’m a sucker for cute packaging!

The swatches made it pretty clear that these are not right for my skin tone and coloring, but I do love the packaging. Really purty!

OOo this packaging is soo pretty. Much like everyone else I’m obsessed with rose gold this season. Too bad I doubt these will work on my brown skin!

The packaging is beautiful! But by the sounds of it they’re not worth it. However the highlighting pen looks nice.

Too cute! I just walked by these at my local CVS but now I’m motivated to go back and snag a couple. So glad to see the swatches and hear your thoughts! I do love sheer products so these might be right up my alley.

    Thanks!

Hm… The highlighter looks cute, and the blush colour looks nice, but even though I’m not Mughal of a blush expert, I think I still prefer crazy pigmented ones that you can blend out/go easy on!

I have the face powder, natural blush and bronzer. i really like all of them. i have been feeling a little under the weather the past few days, but don’t want to run out of the house looking like a total train wreck. so i use the powder, blush and some mascara, and i have a pretty ‘no makeup’ look in minutes. the bronzer isnt pigmented enough for contouring. But i have a tropical vacation planned in a few weeks, and this will be prefect to dust over my whole face for some subtle color. I have several super pigmented blushes and bronzers, and they are great. But sometimes, i just want something quick, easy and natural looking.

Snowed in here in Frederick MD…went for a snow run with my trail shoes and took some pics at my local park. I love Physician’s Formula. I use their glow powders and bronzers and they wear very well and are great for contouring and highlighting. I haven’t tried much of their eye stuff but I have heard it’s pretty good. They make a great matte SPF 20 powder bronzer that I love. It’s not easy to find powder products with SPF. I’m not a fan of overspray either, but these powders look pretty good.

The ones here in Canada come with a little $7/$9 mail-in rebate so it’s been hard to resist picking them all up. I am a huge sucker for cute packaging, especially when they are all “technically” on sale.

I just purchased the Natural Blush from this line and I have to say that I LOVE IT! I’m very fair (NW20) and the blush shows up very nicely on my cheeks. I do tend to be heavy handed with blush and usually end up having to blend it out with a clean brush. This blush went on perfectly. And the packaging is amaze-balls.

I actually personally love how sheer these products are! They remind me of something like ambient lighting powders or les beiges by Chanel. Pretty niffty for the drug store.
