The Fab 5, Vol. 4: BECCA Cosmetics

January 20th, 2014 by Karen 23 Comments

Show me a picture of a beautiful beach (ideally, someplace warm), and whisper the words, “elegant makeup, Karen” in my ear, and guaranteed — BECCA is the brand that’s gonna pop in my mind.

I’m so happy to see it at Sephora again!

Ooh, there was a while there — dark, dark days — where BECCA was really hard to find here in the U.S. — like, you had to trek to small, sad counters at Neiman Marcus stores or get lucky and stumble across a Pure Beauty, so I’m glad it’s carried at a major retailer again.

How well do you know BECCA? If you’ve been wanting to get to know them better, have I got a video for you! 🙂

Here are my fave 5 (Fab 5?) products from the brand.

Products mentioned in the video…

  • Radiant Skin Satin Finish Foundation, $42
  • Beach Tint in Dragonfruit, $25
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, $41
  • Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed, $38
  • Mineral Blush, $32

Thank you for watching!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’ve heard so much about the Shimmering Skin Perfector(from Lisa Eldridge videos). I’m hoping I can find Becca here in Japan!

So glad to see this one as I’ve been super interested in Becca lately. I have no idea where to start and my local Sephoras don’t carry the brand. Now I’ve got a reference for the “best of Becca.” Yay!

      Hi Alison,

Bummer that your nearby Sephora doesn’t carry Becca! You will fall in love with the line, I promise. 🙂

      Hey Rads!

Which Opal highlighter did you try? The pressed or the liquid?

      Happy Monday. 🙂

I bought a mineral blush from Becca about two years ago – HOLY GRAIL! I swear by this blush – wear it every single day. Can’t imagine my life without it. Beforehand I’d tried maybe 15 different NARS blushes – this one from Becca blows them all out of the water. So soft, so pigmented, doesn’t get weirdly hard and dry on the surface. Mine is in Sweetpea – perfect for giving my very pale yellow toned skin a healthy natural flush, like I’ve been hiking in the mountains.

Becca has been on my watchlist ever since I heard Lisa Eldridge raving about their Shimmering Skin Perfector liquid. 🙂

I’d love to try some of their stuff, someday!

I haven’t really tried any of their products other than their One in All Brush which I wrote a review on and did my full face of makeup with only that brush!! Check it out on The Little Black Book xoxo

Oh, I really loved this video. BECCA is in my top 5 beauty brands for sure. I actually did the same post, too. My top 5 BECCA products 🙂 http://www.makeup4all.com/my-top-5-favourite-beauty-products-from-becca-cosmetics/
But these days I’d include their Ultra Sheer foundation instead of concealer. And also, I was told that they are bringing out some very exciting products this year, can’t wait!

Really enjoyed the video and its so refreshing to see a popular blogger make a video without editing it. It’s more real honest and fun as if you are just really being yourself – well who else would u want to be than your fabulous self?!?- but u know what I mean. So thanks as it was fun to watch and see you excited about making the video for your readers as it has made me already put in an order for opal and dragonfly.

      Hi Kimberly,

I appreciate it. I try not to edit unless I feel I have to, but honestly, sometimes I do feel like I have to. Folks don’t want/need to see me completely go off the rails and stare off into space for 5 second pauses or accidentally refer to a product by the wrong name or have to get up to use the bathroom, and so on, and so on, which sometimes happens in long videos. I don’t think it’s always a question of being oneself as much as it is in trying to deliver a clear message. One take is the ideal…but when you gotta go, you gotta go, LOL!

Just catching up! I love Beach Tints – I used Grapefruit for my wedding. I have a sample tube of the Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, which is too dark for me to use as a traditional highlighter, but mixing it with a bit of foundation or BB cream is really nice!

Some of those blushes sound really nice! I’ll have to check them out the next time I venture to Sephora.
