Wonder Twin Powers Activate! Shape of…the New Urban Decay Duo Shade Eyeshadows!

Urban Decay Duo Shades
Wearing the new Urban Decay Duo Shade Eyeshadows in X and Half Baked ($18)

So bangin’!

No, I’m not referring to the pounding outside my window (this time), which, El Hub informs me, will be ongoing for two weeks.

Argh.

The new Urban Decay Duo Shades, $18 each
The new Urban Decay Duo Shades, $18 each

I predict that by the end of the day I’ll be rocking back and forth in the corner and clutching these two new Urban Decay Duo Shade Eyeshadows to my chest like a security blanket while mumbling, “Safe place, safe place…”

The duos, which just launched online at urbandecay.com, are like eyeshadow comfort food. Each one comes with two of UD’s bestselling shades — familiar, much-loved colors that give lurvies to your lids.

Urban Decay Duo Shades in Sin/Mushroom
Sin and Mushroom

Now, I love Sin (seriously, I’ve been waiting YEARS to type that), but I felt like saving the Sin/Mushroom Duo for an upcoming smokey eye. I have something in mind… I’m going to smudge Mushroom on top of a black liner, pop Sin in the inner corners and poof! — shimmery taupe smokey eyes. 🙂

For now, in part because Tabs woke me up at 4 a.m., I went the brightening route today with the bronzy pink X/Half Baked Duo.

X and Half Baked

♥Love this♥. I’ve worn both of these shadows before (X and Half Baked), but pairing them together in a duo like this was genius. The combination of glistening pink and gold is great for tired eyes. Here I’m wearing pinkish gold X on my lids and bronzy Half Baked in the crease.

Urban Decay Duo Shades
NYX Wanderlust Blush on my cheeks and Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Lush on my lips

To my cheeks I added a subtly iridescent peachy blush, NYX Baked Blush in Wanderlust. Then I slicked peachy golden Hourglass Extreme Sheen High Shine Lip Gloss in Lush on my lips.

There. (Fairly) perky and polished. 🙂

Both new duos are available now for $18 at urbandecay.com (I hear they won’t be available in stores).

New food-ish phase

Yerm!

In other news, smoothies for breakfast! Easy, filled with fiber (hence very filling) and hella nutritious.

Normally, when I have something to eat around 6:30, I’m starved by 11, but not when I have one of these. When I have one of these, I’m good till 2.

The one I made this morning was pretty epic, if I do say so myself… I added a frozen banana (which I cut and stuck in the freezer last night), frozen strawberries and blueberries, a small handful of fresh spinach, one scoop of vanilla protein powder (seriously, this stuff’s actually tasty), one tablespoon of chia seeds, a cup of almond milk and a squeeze of honey.

Om-nommage to the extreme.

Do you juice or make smoothies? What do you like in yours?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I haven’t made many smoothies with almond milk because it never seems to taste right with the fruit. I bet the vanilla protein powder and the honey does the trick. So far I prefer them with orange juice instead but the lack of protein doesn’t leave me full for long.

I’ve had a sample of Mushroom since the last UD Sephora 500-point perk and…haven’t used it O.O But that smoky eye sounds lovely! I’ll be on the look out.

These look so useful and beautiful! The X/Half Baked looks so bright and fresh on you. Sephora had the Mushroom/Sin duo in their Sephora Favorites. Its awesome.

Exciting! I’d been curious if they were going to introduce these after they included half-pan shades in the Oz palettes (not sure if they had done that prior to those palettes).

Thanks for posting a link to the protein powder. I had forgotten the name of it. But I do remember the Hourglass product you recommended. Priorities I guess 🙂

What kind of blender do you have? I’m always ravenous when I wake up, and am hungry again by 10, this could be good

Beautiful duos. I too love green smoothies. I often add avocado, oatmeal and/or silken tofu to mine.

Honestly, I think UD is just being ridiculous at this point. I’m so sick of Half Baked and only two duos? And they’re neutrals? Seriously, where is something FRESH? UD, that’s what you were known for. Not this game of releasing the same things over and over. You’re turning into MAC quickly. :/

Nice Combos. But I guess I have these in singles/palettes. So…Still a great option to have in a custom palette.

I like the Sin/Mushroom duo – those are two really useful shades!

Smoothies are the boss. So easy, so delicious, and can be eaten on the run! I like to add oats to bulk mine out, and some natural yoghurt, along with all the fruits!

This is a seriously gorgeous look on you. I know the shadow has a bit too much shimmer for me (I know, plus the fact that I almost never wear shadow) but I wish I could pull it off because it’s really beautiful. 🙂

I wish I could be with you on the smoothies but they’re not my thing, in any flavor. It’s too bad because yours sound like they’re packed with goodness!

I have a smoothie every morning and have various recipes. One of my favorites is blackberry cheesecake which includes: ricotta cheese, Greek yogurt, protein powder (vanilla), black berries, spinach and water as my liquid (I stay away from any extra calories by adding milk or milk substitutes).
