7 Ways to Win a $50 eGift Card From Sephora! (Ends Monday)

A Makeup and Beauty Blog giveaway

A Makeup and Beauty Blog Sephora Giveaway!
A Makeup and Beauty Blog Giveaway!

Gonna get mah hair did. 🙂

I’m so excited! I’m getting a trim and my roots done in a few hours. That’s the only fun thing I’ve got going on this weekend, and I’m really just looking forward to relaxing in the chair.

El Hub is worried… He hates when I cut anything off my hair. This morning he said, “You should cherish it,” about the hair. “It’s like a gift! Most men are worried about losing theirs, and then you go and cut it?”

LOL! He was so serious, too. “You shouldn’t cut it!”

In other equally random news, I love Bravo TV.

LOVE IT! Some of their shows are just so…entertaining. I know that they’re slowly liquifying my brain, which could be a good or bad thing. I haven’t figured it out yet.

Man, those promos, too — those things crack me up. Like the new one for Shahs of Sunset. I laugh every time that thing comes on…

Right now I’m just going to do a quick run on the treadmill before I get ready to go. I hope you’re having a nice weekend so far. Tabs says “mrow.” 🙂 Good luck in the giveaway.

Hi karen, hope you are having a great weekend. I am a 90’s baby (born in 1990) and last night actually I was watching Nickelodeon (flipping through the channels) and CatDog was on! I loved that show when I was younger, lol. And Doug, that was a great one.

Also we’ll be watching the show with an app, and I have no idea how that app works and whether it works at all. Sounds like I’m in for a fun night 😀

Who makes the easiest-to-blend eyeshadows? I’m curious as to what other people are going to put here, because I honestly don’t know. I think UD’s eyeshadows probably get the vote out of my collection, but I always thought some of the colors can be hard to work with and have a lot of fallout.

In my dream quad I would use Neve Cosmetics eyeshadows: Caraibi, Grass, Spumantino and Aura, which is a gorgeous highlighter too. They are all mineral shadows and two of them are loose powders, which makes them totally evanescent without a good primer… but I so love the colors!

Never tried line dancing. However, when I was in college, the Hustle was popular (don’t ask, I’m old…) and everyone would do it at dances. Now it seems so corny, really just a silly easy line dance. I wonder if younger people even know what that was.

We had to learn line dancing in gym class, and unfortunately someone was inspired to make a video of the entire 8th grade class do the Electric Slide in unison, so for a few weeks there we did A. LOT. of line dancing. Needless to say, a bunch of eighth graders with no sh*ts to give stomping about in a gym to vaguely recognizable choreography did not have the effect of say, High School Musical.

Oh! I bought Physician’s Formula Organic Wear Color Correction Cream at CVS today to try it after having a breakout from (I think!) sunscreen that I hadn’t worn in a while. Anybody else have that kind of skin reaction to sunscreen? Usually when my skin doesn’t like a given sunscreen I just itch. I’ve been so happy in the last few years to find foundation (and later BB creams) with SPF that left me itch-free.

My dream shadow quad would have MAC brule, Pigalle by Stila (very similar to MAC cranberry but I prefer it for my skintone), uninterrupted mac prolong shadow (the ochre shade makes a surprisingly good contour for the crease and even through the cheekbones) and embark! I find mac the easiest to blend, not all the colours (lustres etc) but my favorite mac shades have reached that status because they are so blendable and pigmented!

I just love mac’s eyeshadows and I think they are pretty easy to blend. If the palette could also contain creme eyeshadows I would probably switch brule for chanel’s emerveille. Such a pretty shade!

Thank you for such a great giveaway!!!
If I could design/create my own eyeshadow palette it would be an ALL matte natural/neutral palette reminiscent of the Naked palettes worth the same buttery/creamy consistency. Unlike Urban Decays Naked Basics palette or Naked 1, 2, or 3), this one would have 28-36+ shades with a good variety of tones (ex. light, medium, and dark) and undertones (cool, warm, neutral). This would be THE ultimate matte compendium and would easily go with any of the (current) Naked palettes. I think it would be so amazing to have such a palette that essentially has matte versions of ALL of the s gorgeous shimmer shares that UD’s line has.
Anyways, I’d truly love to win this (as I’m sure everyone else does add well), this would make an amazing early birthday (mini) shopping spree!
    Thanks!

Easiest to blend eyeshadow? Laura Mercier, hands down. Just one dream quad? Impossible…
A reliably gorgeous quint is LM Morning Dew, Dusk, African Violet, Cashmere, and Twilight Gray
Also gorgeous is LM Vanilla Nuts, Star Fruit, Sherazade, and Pewter with NARS Namibia
Then there’s Inglot 324 and 387 with Too Faced Jailbird and Badass (from the Pretty Rebel palette) and UD Psychedelic Sister
just for starters, I could go on and on.

I’m finding the indie company Shiro Cosmetics to be pretty impressive, both in the eyeshadow and lipgloss line. Well-pigmented unique colors and the fact that you can get $1 samples is a definite plus. ‘Course, it doesn’t help that every order I get comes with two free samples of eyeshadows I might not have considered before…and then suddenly want to buy full sizes of. 😛 Ah well.
