The Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude Collection Intoxicates Makeup Lovers With an Ambrosia of Beige, Brown, Peach and Coral

The new Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude Collection
The new Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude Collection

Truth be told, I was not expecting to run into this ray of sunshine when I swung by the Bobbi Brown counter at the mall today.

I was just stopping by to spritz a little Beach on my wrist (seriously, on a cold day, that stuff is better than an electric blanket), but then I spotted this limited edition collection…

Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude Collection
Clockwise from the round pan in the lower left: the limited edition Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks in Hibiscus ($26); limited edition Nectar & Nude Eye Palette ($48); limited edition Glitter Nail Polish in Bare Peach ($15); and the limited edition Lip Glosses in Nectar, Nude Pink and Bare Peach ($25 each). Not pictured from the collection: limited edition Nail Polish in Nectar ($15) and the permanent Nectar Shimmer Brick ($42)

It reminds me of 2012’s Neons & Nudes collection (remember that one?), but with peach and coral instead of purple and hot pink.

I do wish the eyeshadows weren’t so…well, nude. I would’ve loved to see some darker, richer browns, but that’s probably just my tan talking (“Please, Bobbi! Don’t make me have to apply so many layers!”). Lighter lasses should be able to pull off these shades (and do great things with them) more easily.

There’s also a Shimmer Brick and one more Nail Polish in the collection (here’s the whole shebang at bobbibrowncosmetics.com), but they weren’t there at the counter today.

In other news, “Do not disturb! I’m marathoning House of Cards!”

Not gonna lie, I’ve been looking forward to watching this all day long!

Season 2 is out on Netflix. I started marathoning it last weekend, and I’ve already experienced more than one moment where I sat there completely frozen with my mouth agape on the couch thinking, “OMG! Did that? Really? Just happen?!”

I gotta give kudos to Netflix. I did not think they’d be able to pull off a second season as good as the first one, but so far, so good (I’m about three episodes in). I think it’s just as well-written as anything I’ve ever seen on HBO or AMC.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Hope you had a nice Monday. 🙂 Remember, if it wasn’t a great one, tomorrow is a new day. I have a good feeling about it, too. Tuesday will be a great day for you (Tabs whispered it to me).

Pretty collection! Also, I’m literally watching HoC Season 2 ep. 1 right now … so good!

Hibiscus Pot Rouge is gorgeous!! The lip glosses look lovely in the tube but quite sheer when swatched. I guess a nude lip liner underneath would make them pop better on deeper skin!

I’m pretty sure I’m going to buy a Bobbi Brown palette before the year is over, but I don’t know what yet. And maybe beach shower gel? It sounds so lovely.
This palette is nice but probably overlaps too closely to Naked 3 to travel with both…
I wish the bigger palettes didn’t mix creams with powders, that’s why I didn’t go for the L’wren Scott one.

Those glosses look good enough to eat! 😀

I am a bit neutral-palette-d out at the moment though…

Part of me really wants a BB eyeshadow palette, but then I get to swatching, or even trying to apply it, and they turn out sheer and dry. Is that just me?

Oh, that palette looks like the worst Bobbi has to offer. Dry, chalky, poorly pigmented, and containing some of thise shimmer shades that just show up as almost-glitter. What a pass.
I like the lip gloss and nail polish in nectar.

At some point you should try the original UK version of House of Cards, or read the books they are based on. Both are excellent. I love the US Version, it is different but still captures the point of the stories. 🙂

I think I’m going to check out those glosses.

It’s a snow day day here–kiddos playing quietly (?!). House of Cards going on the iPad.
    🙂

Thank you for the Trader Joe’s sweet potato fries mention a while back. Tried them yesterday and yum!

Awaiting the arrival of this at my counter. The nail polishes look perfect for Spring! I’m a huge fan of Bobbi’s nail products, and did anyone notice the price has been LOWERED for 2014? At $15, these are at the butter London price point now. I, for one, am delighted.

OMG! I counted down until HoC Season 2. I am seriously addicted. Episode 1….seriously???!!??? More makeup related, on the other hand, the Hibiscus Pot Rouge is something I might need.

I need this palette. Well, not really, but damned if coral isn’t my favorite color and neutrals aren’t my favorite eye look!

I love the colors! The blushes and glosses are really pretty! I think House of Cards will be the next show I binge watch. I finally watched Orange is the New Black a couple months ago after all of the hype and got hooked lol. I need something good to hold me over until season 2 finally premieres

OMG, Episode 1 of Season 2 – CRAY CRAY. WTF. I think we’re on episode 3 or 4.

The palette I find really pretty, but I have similar colors already. I love that Pink Bellini though!

I’m trying to be good and pay down some credit cards though…
