One To Cross Off the Wish List: MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul

I just got back from the salon (Fox + Stone Salon in Corte Madera) and that Oribe class!

Being the hair model was fun, and I learned a lot while I was there. Check back a little later this afternoon because I have some pics and hairstyling tips to share.

It’s girl code, of course: friends always share hairstyling tips. 🙂

In unrelated news, I also swung by the MAC counter on my way home to replace my broken heart bottle of Pro Longwear Concealer and get a new industrial-sized bag of MAC Bulk Wipes (also known as the best wipes for removing makeup while you’re swatching) and a pan of Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul ($25).

That last one was unplanned, but I’d been coveting it since I saw it last week. Now it’s mine… MINE! Mwahahahahaaa!

The sales gal who was helping me pushed me over the edge. When I mentioned it, she nodded knowingly and said, “That’s going to look perfect on you.”

Yeah, girlfriend. Sold.

Love this blush, Karen! I just bought it a few months ago, and it’s a foolproof cheek color that ties together so many different types of looks.

      Hi Monika,

Glad to hear you’re already a fan. What eyes/lips colors are your faves to wear with Warm Soul?

I think it goes with a lot of colors really well, but obviously warm-toned ones work best. As far as lipsticks go, MAC Half n’ Half, Posh Tone, and pretty much any coral/orange/warm pink look really nice. I’ve been doing a basic eye with MAC One to Watch all over the lid, Uninterrupted concentrated in the outer crease and then brought in close to the nose, and then Arena stamped in the middle of the lid to have a spotlight effect. That eye with a nude or coral lip + Warm Soul = looooooooove!

WARM SOUL – MY FIRST BLUSH!!! Before that I was just abusing bronzer copiously.

How’ve you been sweets? Can’t wait to see the Oribe article, I have a mousse by them that I used on blah, 2nd-day-after-wash hair in the summer to give me some tousled care-free waves. The scent now reminds me of heading to the beach on a warm June afternoon, which today most certainly is not. Maybe I should go scrunch my hair some… BRB!

Oooh, what’s the name of the mousse? I need to know!

I’ve been good. Hella busy, and slightly out of my mind because of the racket from the guys working on our house. But good.

Surfcomber tousled texture mousse! It’s great for damp hair, and can even work some magic on bone dry hair in a pinch.

Home renos are ROUGH! Outdoorkitty decided to rip down a bathroom wall over Christmas, OMG. He told me it was going to be three days of work tops and it dragggggged on for a month and a half. Thank god it’s finally done. I feel you sistah! Hang in there!!!!

Okay, just added it to my to-try list. I love wavy beach hair so hopefully it will work for me.

Funny, as I’m typing this somebody’s banging on the wall right outside my window. I can feel it in my brain.

How did your bathroom turn out, btw?

MAC mineralize blushes are so gorgeous! I’m dying to add to my small collection which consists of Gleeful and Lovejoy, and Warm Soul looks like it would be a wonderful everyday color.

This blush looks gorgeous! I need to check out the CC line at MAC soon, I needs me a little color correcting (although I just purchased a Tarte tinted moisturizer I’m hoping works…)

Sorry, it’s not a makeup topic but what kind of camera are you using? I love your photos.
