Ask MBB: How To Get Bold, Full Brows That Still Look Natural

March 11th, 2014 by Karen 13 Comments

In tonight’s very special episode of Ask MBB, the housemates face a crisis of epic proportions…

Wait — wrong intro! Sorry, too much Bravo. 🙂

In this installment, MAC Senior Artist Victor Cembellin goes buck wild for brows — a subject I could seriously discuss for days.

FOR DAYS!

Productions mentioned…

  • MAC 219 Pencil Brush
  • MAC 266 Small Angle Brush
  • MAC Cork Eye Shadow
  • MAC Espresso Eye Shadow
  • MAC Wedge Eye Shadow
  • MAC Saddle Eye Shadow

If you’ve ever wanted bold, lush, full brows that still look natural, press play.

Thank you for watching, my friend. I know I don’t say this enough, but I love you. I love you, and I hope you’re having a good night.

Sorry, feeling a little sappy right now. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.P.S. In other news, new cat sighting in my neighborhood. I spotted him on my walk the other day…

Wouldn’t ya know it? The one time I don’t have cat treats in my pocket, a new cat crosses my path. It’s so unfair. #catladyproblems

I’ve named him Lucky, and while he doesn’t know it yet, he is going to be my new kitty BFF. 🙂

Great video! I still need to figure out how to fill the bald areas of my eyebrows. Coincidentally they are located at the start of my eyelids. Well, I do have lots of milk chocolate eye shadows and brushes to experiment with.

I have a question: What do you do for spot(s) that refuse to have makeup on? Let’s say after a long shift, my makeup is in good shape, except for my nose. Yes I blot during breaks and use matte-fying lotions and potions before makeup. Yes I do touch ups when time permits. Still my nose wants to be the shiniest, un-made up thing on my face. Is there anything else I can do to remedy this?

I’m pretty lucky right now I don’t need to do much to my brows!

Yay, for this video and Victor seemed super nice! I’ve been doing the “ombre” brows technique myself too 🙂 I just fill in my brows with my brow pencil like usual, then use a fluffy brush to soften the heads. This way the brows still look defined without looking too harsh!

Can’t wait to try using a pencil brush to fill in the front of my brows. Very fun informative video! Thanks, Karen and Victor.

You and Victor are so cute together – like you’ve been BFFs for years. My burning question is this: I exfoliate several times a week and moisturize the bejezus out of my face yet, every time I put foundation on, (doesn’t matter what brand – I’ve tried dozens), flakes start popping out all over and it looks like I’m molting. HALP ME!

Hm, I don’t know if this will help, but I have the same problem! I get little flaky patches popping up after I’ve put foundation on, and I’ve found the best method (for me)is to use a tiny bit of eye cream (or any super lightweigh moisturiser) patted on over the foundation where the dry bits are popping up – calms them right down for me!

Aw, we love you, too, Karen! 😀 You always post the best videos and reviews, and your personality is awesome!

I’ve been having a similar problem to Neenaj. My foundation has started emphasizing my dry skin, even though I moisturize like crazy and exfoliate. Perhaps it’s because this Winter has been extremely harsh where I live. I dunno. But it’s driving me nuts!

I’m currently using the NARS tinted moisturizer (one of my favorites). Have you found that particular TM to be drying at all? Or does my skin just hate me?

Great video! I certainly love me some eyeshadow in my brows – I think it’s the best way to get things to look natural!

Gonna watch the video tonight! But I have a curious question. Why do you walk Tabs with a lease? Is it because of dangers outside like coyotes or snakes? Or a fear he may get lost? My daughter tried walking Blaow with a lease once but he kept putting on the brakes and pulling head through it. lol

Lucky is such a pretty kitty! Love black kitties.

This brow information was awesome! My brows are not naturally awesome, and are very light and require filling in. I’ll have to try using the pencil brush and two different colors. I just got a really great NYX hot singles eyeshadow in “S.O.S.” that’s an ashy blonde kind of color I’ve been using for my brows, and it’s great.
