A Makeup and Beauty Blog giveaway

A Makeup and Beauty Blog Giveaway
Win a $50 Sephora eCard from Makeup and Beauty Blog

Rise and shine, morning glory!

I love that phrase… 🙂 I’ll tell you the story behind why I use it one of these days.

How did you sleep? Did you have any dreams? I don’t remember if I did last night. Sometimes I do, but last night is just a sleepy blur.

The sun is out this morning, but I don’t know how long it’ll last, so after I finish my French toast, I’m going for a long walk outside (yes, I’m brining cat treats).

Not much new to report. Last night I did see the new Captain America movie with El Hub and thought it wasn’t bad. Honestly, though, sometimes the superhero movies sort of merge together for me. I love sci-fi — you know that — but the Marvel comic themes generally stick to a handful of story lines. Vengeance, misunderstood hero, quest for power, greed, bizarre need to destroy the world in order to rebuild it anew.

Anywho, I hope you have a nice weekend lined up. I have some blog work to do (some BIG stuff happening next week), but I’ll try to spend some time outside. I do have to repair the damage the storm did to the garden on my deck.

Oh! And guess what? Some neighborhood birds totally destroyed the planter filled with cat grass seedlings for Tabs. I guess they found the seeds yummy.

Yeah, Tabs was none too pleased about that.

Good luck in the giveaway. Talk to you soon. 🙂

more of a corrector than a concealor but the best one that i’ve tried is the giorgio armani master corrector. Doesn’t crease on me like the bobbi brown corrector and somehow corrects the darkness while still looking like natural skin

In my opinion the best concealer is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer because it has amazing coverage, blends like a dream and doesn’t seem to crease on me. It also doesn’t feel heavy on my skin.

My new favorite concealer is the pixi correction concentrate. It’s only 12 bucks (and I have seen Target occasionally run coupons for pixi). It works great for brightening the eye area and on some of the acne scars that are still lingering on my face! Budget friendly too!

I haven’t been to a library since I was in college. I used to spend hours in there until it would close at around 2AM. Now that I can get books online and on e-readers, I haven’t ventured into a library in a few years. This reminds me that I need to visit my alma mater soon 😀

cosplay – not so into it personally, but if that’s your thing i have no problem with it. i guess the closest thing i’ve ever done was when my daughter & i wore our pirate costumes from halloween to a special disney screening of pirates of the caribbean. most of the other attendees were in some sort of pirate-y dress, and there were fully costumed “performers” as well (those are the ones i would consider to have been “cosplayers” much more so). it can be fun 🙂

You can take 10 books out at a time, and then after 21 days, it is automatically returned, so no overdue fines. Sometimes i forget myself in a book and when i have to stop reading, it takes me a minute to remember where I am or who I am.

Since I wash them with sephora purifying brush shampoo after every use I then put them in a toothbrush holder I got just for the brushes. It helps them air dry faster 🙂

I take little comfort in being told I can make a shiner look pretty (haha). Unfortunately all of my basics are failing me…I don’t wear heavy makeup (ever) so it is really challenging to take the purple edge off. I think cosplayers are awesome but I do not have the sewing skills or the creativity to pull it off (yet). Hi Karen! Love your blog. I am totally not a cos-player, Halloween is as close as it gets for me. I am still in college and working at Urban Outfitter, so no work retreat (yet, I hope!). Right now, my favorite concealer is actually a mix of my Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer and Make Up Forever’s Full Cover concealer. I go to the library every week, but it’s mostly to do homework. What I love most about myself are my freckles in the summer.

I recently purchased MUFE’s Full Cover Concealer along with the MUFE Face and Body foundation. I use a small amount of the concealer (it’s very pigmented) to cover up a few imperfections, the best part is that it’s waterproof and won’t budge all day! The two of these together allow for my face to look flawless with a natural finish. 🙂

I will be going to a comic/anime convention that is coming up soon and I plan on dressing up in cosplay. It will be my first time and I’m super excited about it. Thinking about dressing up as a Naruto character!

I love cosplaying! I do tend to dress up as anime/game characters at cons and at halloween. I’m not very good at making my own outfits though, since I kinda suck at sewing. Oh well.

I still haven’t found a favorite concealer but I’d really like to try the MUFE Full Coverage Concealer for my acne.

I have 2 HG concealers, 1 from cinema secret – this one just blends in like a dream, doesn’t settle into my fine lines, very creamy and is very pigmented AND 1 from Mac – the prolong wear concealer just makes my dark circles non-existent and totally brightens up my eye area and it’s like wow, I’m extra glowing today!

I guess I “love” my intuition about work things. If I think something has the potential to be a problem later on it usually is.

I went to Sephora today & it was so tempting to buy something, but thankfully I only walked out with samples of things I want to buy in the future, but don’t want to fully splurge if it isn’t good.

How do you feel about cosplay?Have you ever dressed up in costume for a convention or anything like that? – I have a friend that does it and it looks like a blast but I’ve never gone. I dressed up in costume for my curling match, though. Every team was assigned a team name and we had to dress the part…it was a lot if fun 🙂

I have mad respect for cosplayers, but I’m a total party pooper and seldom dress up at all. As for concealers, I’m a pretty big fan of Revlon’s Photoready stick. I love that they have yellow undertones; it’s surprising how hard those kinds of shades are to find in solid drugstore concealers! I also dig Garnier’s tinted under-eye roller. I don’t have serious bags or discoloration under my eyes, but I find that it does help me look more awake!

The last time I went to a library was last week! I visit the ones on campus quite a bit…the main one is very quiet and it goes on forever. It feels like being in a church or some catacombs hehe.
