Incite Lipstick Envy This Fall With the New Smitten Kitten Collection La Creme and Melted Lipstick Shades

June 23rd, 2014 by Karen 14 Comments

Too Faced La Creme Lipstick in Country Star
Wearing the new La Creme Lipstick in Country Star by Too Faced

I love me some sheer lip balm (lazy girl says haaaay!), but I’ll be the first to admit that when a girl walks by me wearing a snazzy lip that catches my eye and I’m wearing one of those nondescript barely-there shades I’m apt to do on any given day, my insides start metaphorically pounding the air with bratty baby fists, WAH!

I call it lipstick envy, and I’m totally guilty of having it.

Like, if you walked by me wearing one of the new shades from the Too Faced Smitten Kitten collection for fall 2014, I’d be going ape-sh*t inside.

This time around, Jerrod and crew added fun new shades of peach, pink, berry and purple to the La Creme Lipstick and Melted Lipstick lines.

All of the shades are eminently wearable, ’cause hello! — this is Too Faced, and they have the glam/girly/pretty corner of the makeup market down pat.

Too Faced La Creme Lip Balms
The brand new line of Too Faced La Creme Lip Balms ($22, in the pink tubes) and a new La Creme Lipstick shade, Country Star ($22, in the gold tube)

Peachy pinkish nude Country Star ($22), the new La Creme Lipstick shade in the release, is so creamy and smooth that it could almost pass for a gloss.

I have trouble with some nude lip colors washing me out (Or otherwise looking strange… You know how it is with some funky nude shades.), but this one doesn’t do that.

Unfortunately, it’s limited edition, so when it’s gone, you’ll find me in the corner with an embroidered lace hanky, daintily dabbing at glittery tears as they pool in the corners of my cat eyes. 🙁

Then there are the four new $21 Melted Long Wear Lipsticks in the launch, which are like intense liquid lipsticks with a glossy finish and a smooth texture. They join the permanent line.

Now, if you want to incite lipstick envy, slick pink Melted Marshmallow, reddish pink Melted Candy (not shown), purple Melted Fig or Melted Berry directly on your lips (the angled sponge-tip applicator makes it easy to get into the corners, so you won’t even need a lip liner).

That’ll probably do it.

Be careful, though. With these, a little goes a long way.

Country Star, Melted Marshmallow, Candy, Fig and Berry are available now with the rest of the Smitten Kitten collection at Too Faced counters and toofaced.com.

If you’re all about dramatic lips, give one of these a whirl.

Currently craving…

Chocolate. AND POUNDS OF IT. I think I must be PMS-ing (sorry, TMI) because I want to inhale See’s Candies chocolate.

It probably doesn’t help that there’s a See’s five minutes from my house…

Last week I stopped by there once — OK, twice — under the guise of “research.” El Hub’s birthday is in July, and he always likes getting candy.

I found out from one of the guys who works there that they get to eat all the candy they want, as long as they eat it inside the store (so you can’t take one of those 2-pound boxes home with you every night).

All-you-can-eat chocolate… I had to ask him twice because I didn’t believe him at first.

Can you imagine that? It’s one of the perks of the job.

Yeah, now I’m thinking that I need to get a part-time job at See’s, LOL!

When you’re PMS-ing, what do you crave? For me it’s almost always sweets.

Sometimes it’s sweets AND salty stuff, like chips, but usually just sweets.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Country Star looks so creamy in that swatch. Such a pretty colour but it might have to be paired with a liner to avoid feathering (my lipstick loves to feather so lip pencils are my best friends!).

Are the new Melted shades the same opacity as the originals? WHOA Country Star looks like a liquid! I have issues with nudes too. I bought Taffy in spring and still haven’t worn it. A bit of buyer’s remorse, but I know I love it in photos so I need to work on a way to wear it.

All you can eat chocolate….I am so in need of that right now. What a day! I do keep an emergency stash of chocolate in my bedside table though. I might sneak a piece before calling it a night 🙂 Are you a dark, milk, or white chocolate kind of girl?

Milk chocolate for candy and semi-sweet for cookies and brownies. I only eat dark chocolate if I’m desperate. How about you?

I went to the co-op to buy milk, almond milk, and (most importantly) chocolate today, and I saw a freaking BEAVER run across the road. WTH? I didn’t eat all the chocolate at once though, success.

Country star looks amazing on you! Do these have a smell to them?

      Hi Chelsea,

Yes, they have a faint vanilla scent. It’s not terribly strong.

And if you don’t mind me asking, where did you get that beautiful necklace? I love the color.

    Loving the lip Swatches!

And I’d like to touch on something. You look so different lately. Like you have this glow about you. I’m wondering are you with child or this is your season? Meaning things are going your way in the order you wanted.
