Well, it isn’t exactly a poll. It’s more of a constantly evolving (devolving?), somewhat random list of questions I’ve been putting out to readers every Monday morning for the past seven years. (It’s like a kickstart for your brain.) I’ve always enjoyed reading your answers in the comments, and I hope you enjoy reading mine.

Ooh! Banana pancakes, two eggs over easy (please, not over medium), hash browns, a side of fruit (easy on the mellon) and coffee (with tons of cream and sugar).I swear, I wake up ravenous every morning, as if I’ve been hibernating all winter long. It’s dangerous when we go out to eat, like going grocery shopping when you’re starved, because I end up ordering more than I can actually consume, but whatevs. Bring it on!

I have not, even though I live near San Francisco Bay, which is often covered by sailboats.The problem is, horror movies. I’ve watched one too many of them involving sailboats, freak storms and pirates…

They do. They’ve lived in the same house for over 30 years, which is neat when I go home to visit. It brings back a lot of memories. - A nail polish shade you never get tired of wearing?
Tom Ford’s African Violet.It’s such a bright, happy shade, but it’s one of those that also has kind of a tough girl edge at the same.

Good morning, glory. 🙂 Happy Labor Day, which I hope you’re celebrating by not working (or not working very hard).
I love it when holidays fall on a Monday because, seriously, Mondays can use all the help they can get.
We haven’t figured out what we’re going to do yet — maybe drive up to Guerneville and the Russian River, or maybe go hiking on Mount Tam. Whatever we do, though, I want it to be at least partly outside. Gotta soak up as much sunshine as possible (while wearing sunscreen, of course).

Happy Labor Day, Karen! I am actually NOT working so I am really happy. Just doing some stuff around the house, my husband is making chocolate crepes for breakfast. Later we might spray paint mason jar lids for our friends’ bridal shower…and go for a run. I failed yesterday because it was super hot and humid and I simply couldn’t take it anymore and I had to just walk.

3. Have you ever been sailing? Yes, my grandfather on my dad’s side sails and when I was little he used to take me sailing. It’s been years though!

5. A nail polish shade you never get tired of wearing? I get tired of everything, ha! Must be why I’m such a collector. But if I had to pick a year-round favorite it would probably be ORLY Oui or Luxe.

~I had poached eggs Benedict over potato pancakes at Mimi’s Cafe in Frederick. Also had a large cappaccino. I am allergic to bananas otherwise your banana pancakes sound awesome!

~A blazer or cute jacket over the jeans and t-shirt. Instantly looks more polished. As far as makeup goes, my basic concoction of CC cream, zit concealer, bronzer, and blush is quick and looks polished. If I have little extra time, some easy-to-put-on cream/stick shadow, eyeliner, and mascara goes a long way to looking more polished.
3. Have you ever been sailing?
~I have once before, my best friend actually has her sailing license. We have a lot of water bodies in MD so water sports are a big thing here. We’ve got the Bay and huge rivers. Weekends on the rivers and the Bay can be like a battlefield weaving around people in boats…

~They do, it always brings back comforting memories to visit.
5. A nail polish shade you never get tired of wearing?
~NARS Orgasm or one I have in a rose gold shade. Neutral, but still interesting and not much maintenance. Also goes with everything I wear.

4. Do your parents still live in your childhood home? Yes. Today is their 35th anniversary, which is pretty cool.

In Mexico is obligatory to wear uniform from kindergarten to junior high school; and in high school depends of your school, mine as being part of the university didn’t ask us to use one.

I think here we don’t have farmers’market instead we have markets that are full of sellers, they even sell clothes or dishes, and no I’m not talking about supermarkets.

My brunch order is almost always some form of eggs benedict, which doesn’t seem particularly greasy spoon-ish, but any other answer wouldn’t feel right.

Mascara/ bold lipstick. In terms of clothing, a simple dress, because then I don’t have to worry about how things look together and it’ll be comfortable.
3. Have you ever been sailing?
Many times. I grew up next to the ocean and sometimes I’d end up going almost every weekend over the summer.
4. Do your parents still live in your childhood home?
Nope.
5. A nail polish shade you never get tired of wearing?
A England Princess Sabra or Chanel Peridot. Both are really intriguing to look at, but are neutral enough that they don’t seem to clash with anything else I might have on.
1. This morning we’re getting brunch at the local greasy spoon. What’s your order? – If they have stuffed hash browns or a hash brown omelette, I am alllll about that life! If that’s not an option, then a stack of pancakes with some eggs over easy and bacon on the side!
2. When in doubt, throw on ______. – A bb cream (a little coverage, a lot of benefits!), and accessory-wise, a scarf (as long as it’s not too hot out to wear one).
3. Have you ever been sailing? – Yes, mostly when I was at summer camp as a kid! I enjoyed it, but it’s also kind of a complex process. I wasn’t very “good” at maneuvering the sailboats, hahah. I prefer powerboats!
4. Do your parents still live in your childhood home? – Yes they do. There was talk of us moving at one point when I was in middle school, but we never did. So “home” is still the same place it always was.
5. A nail polish shade you never get tired of wearing? – Lust for Lilac by Maybelline! It’s the perfect bright marriage of pink and purple and it reminds me of Barbie! 😀
