The $42 Dolly’s High Roller Collection by Buxom Is a Winning Hand

November 5th, 2014 by Karen 20 Comments

Buxom Dolly's High Roller Collection
Wearing the new limited edition $42 Buxom Dolly’s High Roller Collection, new for holiday 2014 and available now exclusively at Sephora stores and sephora.com

Get ready to look like you spend all of your time at the VIP high-limit tables (as opposed to playing the OMG! Kittens penny slots). Each element in the new $42 Dolly’s High Roller Collection by Buxom evokes livin’ large, cards and casinos.

The nine-piece set comes with chocolate, plum, platinum and pink eyeshadows (and no fallout from any of them, yay!); a cheek trio with a matte plum blush, a shimmery golden beige highlighter and a peachy golden bronzer; and a dual-ended gloss.

Last, but not least, is the waterproof black pencil eyeliner — handy for that glorious moment when I/you/we hit the jackpot and start crying tears of sweet joy.

Just be sure you work quickly with the liner if you plan to do any smudging, because it sets in under a minute.

Added bonus: the set also includes an insert with two step-by-step tutorials (not shown), one for a daytime look, and one for night.

That liner is SOO black!! Why does that bronzer look so shimmery? almost like a bronze eyeshadow!

The bronzer isn’t my cup of tea, but that eyeliner, wowies! You look so so so gorgeous here, Karen.

      Thanks babe!

Yeah, I wish the bronzer was matte. I end up using it more as an eyeshadow.

So, the liner — it sets SO fast! Definitely not the best for smudging, LOL.

      Happy Thursday, by the way!

I don’t think that bronzer would work for me, but I love the eyeshadows and, especially, the eyeliner. It is so pigmented.

      Hi Gio,

I usually prefer matte bronzers, and end up using this one as an eyeshadow! 🙂

These colors didn’t look too inspiring in the palette but they look like a million bucks on you! 🙂 All I can think of when I read “Dolly” is Dolly Parton, though. That’s probably just me.

You know that I’m not-so-secretly obsessed with Dolly Parton, right!? I think she’d be fun to hang out with.

She totally seems like a hoot! She was very cool when the guys from American Pickers got some stuff for Dollywood. Have you ever seen that show? Their assistant loves Dolly and she looked like she was about to die when she met her. 🙂

Plumblicious! This palette is really pretty !!

Now I’d consider buying this but Sephora is “experiencing high traffic” and basically .. I can’t shop!

Love the colors in this set though some of the shadow pigmentation looks questionable!

This does look pretty but the two purple shadows look disappointing. I had to read to see if there was supposed to be a shadow where strip poker is! You can hardly see it!
