Jump Start Your Morning: Wei East Intensive Herbal Eye Treatment Pads

February 15th, 2008 by Karen 18 Comments

Non-morning people of the world, unite! Before my morning coffee, I’m a puffy-eyed, grumpy beast. If you are, too, then I’ve got your new best friend right here: Wei East’s Intensive Herbal Eye Treatment Pads.

Infused with an herbal blend of green tea, chrysanthemum extract and peppermint, these disposable herbal eye pads refresh and de-puff tired, sleepy eyes (like mine). This morning I crawled out of bed, fired up the coffee and tore open a pack. The pads rest gently upon your puffy eyelids. There’s no adhesive, so you have to lie down or tilt your head back to keep them in place. I chillaxed on the couch for 10 minutes while the coffee brewed.

They’re wonderful right after getting up in the morning, when you’re mind is in that shady zone between fast asleep and half-awake. With subtle notes of tea and peppermint, the soft pads cool and refresh the senses. Relaxing on the couch, I let my mind wander, reflecting upon the day ahead. After 10 minutes, my eyes weren’t as puffy as they were before, and I felt invigorated, refreshed and ready to rumble.

One box of 16 packets (each packet holds two pads) runs $36, which breaks down to about $2.76 per pack. Yes, I probably could have simulated a cheaper version of the experience with a candy cane and a wet washcloth, but on extra-rough mornings when I can barely even grunt or gesture, these pads will be worth it. Sometimes, you need all the help you can get in the morning, and Wei East’s pads could be just the thing to make the morning a lil’ bit easier.

Purchase Wei East Intensive Herbal Eye Treatment pads at at Weieast.com.

Well, we *finally* made it to Friday! Are you ready for this jelly? You better be! Reporting live from Las Vegas, Nevada…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Hey Karen…this is completely off topic…but I had to tell you about this…I was bored and you didn’t have a new post so I was checking out the beauty board on craigslist there was something about using Monistat chafing gel as primer…I don’t actually use foundation…but it was odd enough to make me look it up… 🙂

Have you heard about this? I’m thinking it might clog your pores…lol but apparently women are raving about it. (at least they are in the CL beauty forum)

Have fun in Vegas…btw the eye pads are probably worth it after a crazy night in Vegas too…:-) not that you and el hub and the inlaws will be having crazy nights… but hey you never know. 🙂

    Hi Karen and Megan,

I actually heard about it from the owner of Silk Naturals, the online mineral makeup company. In the pamphlet she recommend using it as a primer. Upon my first read, I thought she was out of her mind but to think about it, this Monistat gel may work. Primers primarily contains silicon (in the form of dimethicone)and this product has tons of it. Plus it’s oil-free, fragrance free, and alcohol free.

I’ve been contemplating of getting a tube just to try. If it works then I’ll be very happy since I’m allergic to most primers out there. And btw, Silk Naturals rocks!

Yay, puffy-eyed grumpy beast solidarity! These sound lovely, but can you really chill on the couch for ten without falling back asleep? I’m not sure I could! 🙂

    Hey Megan,
I’ve also heard of using the anit-chafing cream as a primer. I bought a tube to try it out, although I haven’t gotten to it yet. I compared it to Smashbox’s primer, and it’s almost the same consistency and leaves the skin nice and soft, at least on my hand. =D

    Hi Megan,

Girl, I haven’t heard of that! I wonder what compelled that first person to put some Monistat on her face. Seriously…I’d tell the girl to just buy some Laura Mercier primer.

We just finished our first day here and I’m exhausted. Did some gambling, did some eating and some sight seeing. I feel like I’ve been up for three days!

Anyway, I hope ya had a good Friday! Any exciting plans for this weekend?

    Hi Dao,

I know for a lot of women mineral makeup’s a miracle…unfortch I’ve never had good luck with it. I used Bare Minerals a few times and every time it broke me out like crazy.

Lemme know if that trick actually works! I am adventurous, but honestly the thought of putting Monistat on my face grosses me out a little. I’m gonna stick to my LM oil-freeeeee!

    Hi Glosslizard,

You know, I usually can fall back asleep at the drop of the hat, but there’s something about the coolness of the pads and the peppermint scent that really perks me up. Tis the weirdest thing!

Hope you had a great Friday 🙂

    Hi Karen,

Those pads sound like a lovely treat for my poor tired eyes after a week of 6am starts! But unfortunately i dont think we have them in the UK! 🙁 Ive sooo got to move!

sorry to change the subject completely from the post but I was talking to a couple of friends about the Mac prep and prime eye and they had completely different oppinions on it, one said it was great and the other said it was no different to simply putting your regular foundation on the lids as it did the exact same thing.
I was wondering if you had a view on it? I am torn between that and the bare canvas paint!

see what you have done to me now?!?! I have a whole new brand to obsess over!!!

    Hi Holly,

The only thing that I’ve used from the Prep+Prime line is the lip primer. To tell you the truth, I wasn’t that impressed with it. It dried my lips out and I couldn’t really tell a difference in smoothness with application or lasting power.

I’m a *huge* fan of Bare Canvas paint, so I’m all for that purchase. You might want to test it on your lids first, though. On some people’s lids it can look really pink.

Hope you’re having a good weekend so far! 🙂
