Tantalizing Trios Await! With the Transformative bareMinerals Ready Convertible Eyeshadow Palette, You Can Take It With You

November 25th, 2014 by Karen 10 Comments

The new $39 bareMinerals Ready Convertible Eyeshadow Palette

This new $39 Ready Convertible Eyeshadow Palette by bareminerals is a lot like the last Transformers movie…except without the fast-twitch camera cuts, ear-splitting explosions and, ya know, robots.

OK, so now that I’ve thought about it more…it’s actually nothing at all like the last Transformers movie.

But it is like the slogan. 🙂 “More than meets the eye.”

With 12 full-size shimmery eyeshadows that you can pop in and out, this holiday set is something of a quick-change artist. The idea is to place three colors into the smaller mini-palette in the middle of the bigger palette, which you can then slide out and take along with you — you know, for touchups, booty calls, impromptu acts of makeup artistry in airport bathrooms, etc.

To make things even easier for nomadic eyeshadow enthusiasts, bareMinerals grouped each of the shadows into trios, then numbered the shades, making it easier to find the right lid color (the shadows marked with the number 1), crease shade (the number 2) and liner (3).

Seems very paint by numbers, doesn’t it?

Back to the whole robots thing, I can actually see Optimus Prime liking this concept, as he’s one of the better organized and more practical giant alien robots. Being covered in chrome himself, he would probably appreciate the shiny finish and minimal fallout of the shadows.

Speaking as a human woman, however, I have to ask — yo, where my mattes? While I can wear shimmers all day long, I still would have liked to see more mattes here.

Because options, can I haz?

Also, being valedictorian of the School of Makeup Overpackers, class of 2014, I would always, given the choice here between carrying all 12 shadows or just three, go with 12 every time. The idea of purposely restricting my shadow choices to three is just not my steez.

With the Ready Convertible Eyeshadow Palette, I think bareMinerals has an innovative design, but I’m just not sure how often I’d take advantage of it…

The limited edition Convertible Eyeshadow Palette is available now, transforming makeup lives at bareMinerals counters and online.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Yes, I’ve been feeling a little wacky today. In other news, I am so totally burned out on Gilmore Girls. I’m on the last season with about 15 episodes to go (Lorelai and Chris just got back together, doop-da-doo!), and I don’t know if I can do it anymore… If I hear one more crazy town conversation about absolutely nothing I might snap!

I have never tried bareMinerals…I hear their commercials all the time and just never bothered, because with all the other options out there there are just so many other things I would rather try. But now seeing this review I kind of want to.

They look pretty pigmented in the swatches, and I really like the idea of being able to take just three with me (though I’d prefer four). I had something similar from a Sephora palette where there were five separate trays that could pop out and go separately into your purse, but they were so big I never bothered with it.

I also really like the colors. However, like you I wish there were matte shades as I easssse my way into a more professional look.

Anyway, I’m glad you posted about this one! I’m leaning toward picking one up the next time I take a trip to the BIG mall…although I don’t know if I should since I have enough eyeshadow to last 10 lifetimes (I’m sure you understand that!)

How do you always come up with these comparisons? The latest Transformers movie? I sometimes find myself reading your reviews only to hear you go on abut stuff like this, even if the product itself doesn’t interest me at all.
If that is the kind of wacky we are talking about, i love it!

Oooooh I definitely like the colors in this palette. But I agree, it would have been nice to see some nice mattes in there as well. We don’t get enough mattes!

Ah, yes… The dreaded GG burnout haha. It happens to all of us, and I assure you it’s temporary! Go rewatch the last TWD and you should be fine (Carooool!! Nooooo!!!! Also, Sasha, you dumb, girl).

Yeah, idk how often I would actually pop out just three shades, especially if I don’t have any blending colors to make it a practical selection…

Sounds like a great palette for travelling. The colours are gorgeous, but I would have liked to see some mattes too.

Oh, I can see this palette for the novice without a clue, the confused intermediate, and the veteran who wants to rebel (use lid colors in the crease, crease colors for lids, etc.).

And there are the Dreadful Drama Divas Who Don’t Do Mattes!!

    Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Karen!!

I have this and love it. The colors are great with my hazel/green eyes. The quality is wonderful.

I’m not a Dreadful Drama Diva, but I prefer shades with a bit of shimmer, so it’s all good. I have other palettes with mattes if I want them.

    Just sign me,

Hi Karen! The trio of colors you chose to wear are Ab Fab!! Your whole look is flawless and you look gorgeous!!!!

Question: how do these wear? Any creasing? How is the length of wear?

Thanks! I’ve had my eye on this since it came out..,probably will have my thumb on the trigger of the mouse soon….
