Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour in Sweet Rose

Who’s that weirdo girl at the makeup counter with her nose in the blushes?

That would be me. 🙂

In case you were wondering (because I totally was), this Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour in Sweet Rose does not smell like a sweet rose.

It smells like Axl Rose when I watch him in old Guns N’ Roses videos on YouTube…which means that it doesn’t really smell like anything because you can’t smell a YouTube video (yet).

Sweet in name and looks only, it’s a powder blush from the Clarins spring collection that has been out for a while. There are four different rosy pink blushes in the pan, all flush up against each other, two mattes and two shimmers.

You know the drill — mix ’em together or wear them apart, although the thin strips of blush on the left side are fairly narrow, which makes applying them on your cheeks using the included mini brush somewhat challenging. I recommend using a tapered eye brush instead and having some patience.

I end up just swirling all of the shades together with a blush brush 1) because it’s easier that way, and 2) I actually prefer the combined rosy pink color. Looks very natural.

Obvs, there are a ton of pink blushes out there, but this one, when you wear the colors mixed together, has a sweet whisper of warm peach. The color is just a little different than usual. It makes you look like you just got back from a bike ride or a brisk walk, and it’s available now ($31 for a 0.2-oz. pan) online and at Clarins counters.

It looks like a cloud of pink-y goodness. When blushes like these have separate color components I never use them individually–they’re just too small to do it quickly. And, who doesn’t love to swirl a bunch of colors together? It’s WAY more fun that way!

This one looks nice! Reminds me of the dusty pink one from Lancome (gorgeous blue palette, gold on each end) that was The Blush in my makeup drawer in the suburban bathroom. Dear Daughter used to peek in the drawer and do a small swipe of that blush!

But it has a very subtle effect that blends with the skin tone. No Pink Explosion here! “Sweet Rose” is at the top of the end-of-the-month list.

Axl was a bit of awful. But the color of that tee is divine on you.

I’ve swatched those blushes in a hurry but it seems not good on my dark skin !?!
    Must have a proper look.

If I could, I would buy this only because it is called Sweet Rose. And I totally get you on the smelling blushes thing – I smell Chanel Blushes more than I use them! 😀

This blush is really a pretty colour. Is the mini brush any good? I’m looking for a nice blush with an included brush to put into my on-the-go makeup bag. I’m tired of carrying a big brush around, but I like to be prepared for any impromptu touch-ups coming my way. A heavy handbag can’t keep me from carrying at least four lipsticks, because you never know, and it’s nice to have options, right?

You look, as always, lovely. And TGIF indeed! Party time! Or couch time? Whatever your plans are, I wish you a wonderful weekend.

TGIF! I hope you have a lovely weekend ahead.
I like my pinks with a hint of peach, so this could be one I need to take a closer look at.

This is a beautiful colored blush. I’ve never used any actual cosmetics from Clarins. I have no clue why… I’ve only ever used their skin care. I just think of them in that way- a skin care company. This blush makes me want to look more into their cosmetics line though!

This blush looks so pretty on you! I love the warm dusty rose glow. Hey, I’ve got a makeup related question. Do you have any good lip colors for warm olive toned gals like me?
(TGIF, by the way. 🙂 )

I love that blush…it’s so pretty. I do like Clarins, especially their eye cream and serum. It’s just so darn expensive. I have their matte foundation but it’s super matte and I’m trying to figure out how to make it work…

    Have a good weekend!

Oooh, pretty! I have several Clarin’s blushes like this, and I always swirl them together. Those tiny blocks are just too hard to get to.

Looks beautiful on you! Very soft and natural. Would have been nice if it smelled like roses too. And probably would have saved you a funny glance or two while you were at the counter sniffing blushes LOL

This is a gorgeous blush. I’ve seen a lot of great reviews of Clarins blushes and need to add a few to my collection.
