Upgrade Your At-Home Manis With the Tweezerman Pushy and Nail Cleaner

The $18 Tweezerman Pushy and Nail Cleaner

Seriously, the last thing I ever expected to fall head over heels for was this little tool from Tweezerman. It’s the $18 Tweezerman Pushy and Nail Cleaner, and it’s one of those things that didn’t look like much at first, but it turned out to be really, really handy. Now I use it on the regular.

It’s a dual-ended stainless steel nail tool with a flat spatula-like pusher on one end to push back cuticles, and a small angled scooper on the other end to clean under and around nails. The whole thing is metal and about five inches long.

Sounds simple, right? Well, this particular doodad also does what it does very well. The edges on both ends are smooth, so they don’t scratch your nails, and the shaft is textured in places to make it easy to grip while you’re getting out all the gunk (eww!). It also feels substantial and comfortable in my paw.

It’s $18, which made me gulp the first time I saw the price, but it’s well-made and sturdy, so it should last a while. Being stainless steel, it might never rust. Darned thing could last forever (or at least until I lose it). It’s available now online and at drugstores and Ulta.

This is one of those tools that I didn’t think I’d ever need until I did, but now that I’ve used it, I’m hooked. Now it’s a must-have for my at-home manis.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I have a tool by Sephora (looks like they don’t do it anymore) that has a cuticle pusher on one side and nipper on the other. I don’t cut my cuticles, but it’s very handy to cut the skin that grows on the nail itself (I don’t know what that’s called?). This thing has really changed my nail life!

This could last forever or until I loose it. Which, in my case, would be about three months. Seriously, where do these things go?

Oooh I want this. I exclusively do at home manis usually once a week (nail salons gross me out) which keeps my polish fresh and fun and prevents me from biting my nails!

Julep makes a pretty great cuticle pusher. It has less of a hard edge against the nail but is double sided for some handy cuticle pushing. The nice thing is that it’s gentle around the cuticle so you dont hurt yourself because it has this nice half rounded edge. I use one like this and the Julep one. Love both for different reasons!
