How’s it going so far this weekend/morning? Things are pretty good out here. Tabs hasn’t been outside yet, so he’s fussy, but nothing new there.
Did you do anything fun last night? All we did was go to a movie, that Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. It’s a coming-of-age movie, but it doesn’t deserve to be pigeonholed like that. Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommended. It avoids the cliches that so many other movies in that genre wholeheartedly embrace and isn’t driven by cheesy caricatures or angsty romance. I really enjoyed it.
Other than that, nothing new to report.
Oh! — the baby birds that I told you about that are nesting in the hanging planter on my deck? They grew up! Yup, they left the nest, so it’s a little quieter around here in the mornings without the hatchlings chirping (yes, I miss the baby birds).
I haven’t figured out what we’re doing yet today, but whatever it is, I intend for it to be equal parts relaxing and fun, during the parts that don’t involve, you know, chores and stuff.

I love Mac cosmetics in fact I placed a large order with them this morning I can’t wait for it to arrive! My favorite mac lipstick finish is either cremesheen or lustre they both feel so lovely on my lips and honestly I enjoy them more than some super high end lipsticks like tom ford, they feel nicer on the lips. My favorite mac eyeshadow finish is probably matte I love matte eyeshadows but the veluxe pearls are gorgeous!

Still winter here in New Zealand and boy is it cold. But not enough rain for the poor farmers, wineries and orchards. It snowed too and some of our roads had to be closed. Which may not be a big deal to some but it almost never happens here. But inside it’s cosy except when the cat lets himself out and forgets to shut the door behind himself lol Looking forward to some but some more rain is a definite must, Have a lovely week 🙂
I get to spend the whole weekend with my BF, which is exciting!!! He’s worked non stop for almost 40 days! So I’m extremely happy to have him home for a bit I have never been to a rodeo before. I’ve never tried Mac, I’ve heard such good things about the brand. And I love their dark red lipsticks!!!

I am from Saskatchewan, so I thought I’d say, yes, I’ve been to a rodeo! And a gymkhana, even. I have seen children chase calves and love it 🙂 I have to say that Women’s Barrel Racing is pretty engaging.
I love the combination of matte and satin finishes of the mac lipsticks. The same applies for eyeshadow. a shimmery or satin eye shadow on the lid and a matte in the crease 🙂

Nothing much going on but enjoying time w/ my great nephew who’s in town from New York. He’s definitely a big city kid because all he does is stay in and stuck to electronic devices all day. Although my lips don’t always look the greatest in these finishes, my favorite MAC finish is matte and retromatte… I like satin too though. Creemsheen is too sheer for me and so is lustre.

To answer some of your questions: No I do not have a nickname (unless Mom and Mommy count), I have never worn a tiara. I have never been to a beauty/makeup convention and I don’t have anyone famous in my family. I have however been to the rodeo. I live in Calgary and the Calgary Stampede has a rodeo and I have been to that many times. Thanks for the chance!

I think I’m in the minority, but I love lustre lipsticks from MAC! I have pretty pigmented lips and work in a conservative environment, so when I wear something opaque enough to cover my natural lip color, it just looks really odd and out of place! Lustre to the rescue – just enough color to tint the lips, but sheer enough that it doesn’t look whackadoo! I’m always jealous of the girls who can pull off that bold lip – it’s gorgeous, it just doesn’t work for me!
I wore a tiara to my junior prom and for my wedding. While I probably wouldn’t do it if I were getting married now, I do think every woman should get to wear a tiara at least once in her life!

My comment for the day. I love Fix+. I bought the travel size because I didn’t really understand the purpose for this. But this is superb for dry skin! I like to use it in combination with the NARS concealer, as I find that concealer doesn’t really spread well on dry skin. So i dab the concealer all over, mist the spray and pat it down. I do that for my ‘no makeup’ makeup days. With the prize, i’d love to buy the full size!

I have been to the rodeo! I moved to Houston for graduate school and we went to the Maroon 5 concert at the Houston rodeo. It was such a fun experience and my favorite part (besides shirtless Adam Levine!) was the mutton busting. Those kids are adorable!

I would like to add natural looking colours to my make-up collection now that I am getting older and do not want to look like I am still trying to look like a 25 year old when I put on make-up.
Favorite MAC finish? I’m a big fan of their matte lipsticks…retro-matte tends to be a bit too dry and not apply as well but some are better than others. I hate when I have a bright lipstick that wears weird over the day or comes off when I eat leaving an “I’m only wearing lipliner” effect until I reapply. I don’t have to worry about that with mattes. I apply both formulas over lip balm and they wear evenly and stay put even through food :). I’d wear them more often if they didn’t suck the life out of my lips so I reserve them for my brighter “going out” lippies and go with a moisurizing tinted balm for work.

I’ve always worn matte lipstick with a touch of gold on my bottom lip to give the illusion of shine. MAC has clime a long way in terms of putting makeup on darker women that compliments them. My nickname was ” Duby” in high school! Yikes
