What a day! I had an interesting, exciting one yesterday. That’s why I wasn’t around much. Tabs had to hold down the fort at MBB headquarters because I was in the city shooting five (!) videos for a makeup project later this year, and I’d never done anything quite that official before, with a producer and a director and props and big studio lights.
That’s different than how I usually do my videos in my living room, haha. The only thing missing was Tabs all up in my grill. 🙂 Hopefully it all works out, and I’m able to share the videos when they’re done.
I’m still a little tired from having to be on so much yesterday, so I don’t feel like pushing myself this weekend. My priority is taking it easy. I should do some housecleaning and run some errands, but that’s it. If El Hub says he wants to go kayaking down a raging river, I may have to decline.

I know MAC has a wide range of cosmetics but out of all of them I’m really eager on trying the patentpolish collection! Its just so lovely!
I could not choose one lipstick as the best one of all times but lately I’ve been wearing the heck out of Mac’s Plumful. I am a very pale NW10 and it just compliments both my skintone and eye color so nicely without being over the top. I can wear it sheered out for everyday or go all in with a vampy liner for a party. But choosing one would be like choosing my favorite child so I refuse 😀
My best friend is wonderful and talks nonstop.
I always apply moisturizer with SPF in the morning- hydrates and protects and then I don’t have to worry if I’ll be outside for a little while.
I have tripped and fallen at many inoppourtune moments but I’d have to say my worst was on my first day at a new job. I was working at a frozen yogurt shopped and I tripped and spilled a box of cookie dough bits on the ground. Not my best moment????

I do love Smashbox PhotoFinish Primer w/ SPF. But I always use a different sunscreen product with higher SPF–just to be safe. Enjoy your relaxing weekend 🙂

I can’t say “soggy” or “foggy” without sounding like a true New Yorker. I’m from Chicago. And to say “rural” takes me about 10 min…I hate having to say that word! I end up just saying “ya know, the opposite of urban!”
My favorite non-spf item is coconut oil. Very good for the skin and offers some protection. I would still wear an spf if I were doing anything outside, though.
I’ve been using the Boots No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for normal/oily skin that has SPF 15 in it. Also when I say meme I don’t put as much emphasis on the “e” sound as other people do.
I’m pretty sure every time that I have tripped or fallen has been at an inopportune moment!
My favorite two favorite lipsticks hands down are velvet teddy and honey love from mac. I’m in love with them, and if you put velvet teddy on the ends of your lips where they meet and honey love in the middle with a lip liner it makes a beautiful ombré effect. Brave is also one of my faves 🙂

Amenable (some say a-meen-uh-bull, I say a-men-uh-bull) and self-deprecating vs. self-depreciating.

Ooooh yes. There was this one time after school (I was in high school), it was raining, and the floor on the packed subway station that most students would take to get home was slippery… I fell not once but twice in front of half the school :/

Favorite lipstick gosh too hard to pick but I feel like I don’t give enough love and ppl don’t talk about them often but the milani color statement lipsticks ! Great quality smell like watermelon jolly ranchers and the naturally chic shade is a perfect warm toned natural shade love it! Can’t go wrong?

******BEST ANSWER YOU WILL READ****** LOL 3)Have you ever tripped or fallen at an inopportune moment?—- um yes lots of times. Once, I fell/tripped going up (or down, I forget)the stairs at my college and dislocated my knee!
******And recently, I was in my work (a retail store), on a day off, with my 2 year old (who is quite the handful). we were in line waiting to pay for something when she decided to bolt out the automatic doors. I went running after her (keep in mind that I had new, so they were slippery, sandals (small heel) on)—- Near the registers where we had been standing in line is carpeted, but as soon as I hit the linoleum flooring that is right before the doors- I went sliding and then fell right on my wrists and knees *(which is better than my face, I suppose) but EVERYONE saw it! The people that were in line saw it, and all the people that I work with saw it… I was mortified!! (I caught her just in time though!!!) I had landed on my wrists and right knee so hard (the vestibule where I fell is covered in very tough, bumpy carpet- so I split my knee up pretty badly. I literally had to sit there for five minutes waiting for the pain to go away before i could actually stand up!
4-Your pick for Best Lipstick of All Time? My fave for me is Maybelline color stay (or whatever the bright purple tube is) On the Mauve (awesome for fall/winter and even spring)

Hi Karen hope you are having a nice weekend ! My favorite lipstick right now is Mac’s Faux. It’s nude enough that I can pair it with colorful eye shadows but also I can make it more colorful by slapping on more lip gloss. I’ve received compliments when I wear it, and it’s not an overwhelming color.
I think most everyone talks a lot. It is rare to find people who listen. I think I frustrate people because I talk so little (Unless I have had a drink!)

My 8 year old daughter talks a lot. I mean SHE TALKS A LOT. God Bless my little Squish. There’s not a thought she thinks that doesn’t come out of her month. I love her for that because she can’t lie. She’s incapable of keeping things in. She’s not malacious or mean. The funny thing is that she was a slow talker. At 2, I remember being afraid she would need speech therapy. We couldn’t understand anything she said. Now, she’s my non-stop chatter. Her favorite phrases are “Guess What?”; “Just saying,” and “Do you remember when?”
I got a sample of the new Marc Jacobs foundation from Sephora, and I’ve been trying it out this week. I’m not sure how I feel about it yet. I love the coverage, but I’m not sure if it suits my dry skin. Also, I wish it had more of a dewy finish.
Giveaway or not, I want to take this opportunity to thank you. Your blog helps me keep my mind off of the stuff going on around me right now. It really allows me to just relax and helps my anxiety to ease off. Especially today; one of my little dwarf rats, Cheryl, got spooked and ran away while she, her sister, and I were playing in the grass. I’m worried about what I’ll do for Pam (her sister) since they were best friends. She and my cat get along well enough, but it won’t be the same without her sister.

Hi! My favourite lipstick at the moment is Pupa I’m Matte. It’s an Italian brand so I’m not sure if it’s possible to find it abroad but if you’re in Italy for the holidays you should definitely try it! It’s actually a matte tint, but it doesn’t dry the lips at all, it doesn’t go in the wrinkles around the muth even without a lip pencil and it costs aruond 10 euros. I’d go for the whole line but they mostly have bright colors while I’m a dark lipstick kind of girl ^^

My fave lipstick of all time is Nars Audacious Lipstick in the shade “Charlotte.” The Audacious line has unbelievable long lasting wear – I leave for school or work all day and don’t even need to throw it in my purse for touch ups. They are a bit pricier, but because you eliminate the touch ups and use less they end up being a better value than cheaper lipsticks. The coverage and pigment are amazing, and they go on flawlessly. “Charlotte” is a gorgeous oxblood color that I get more compliments on than any other lipsticks I own. It is so flattering. My second favorite shade in the line is “Michiyo,” a very fun and pretty hot pink. I love these lipsticks so much I have been collecting them over time and have most of them in the line now, and I reach for them more often than any other lip products!

My favorite lipstick of all time was made by Ultima II….an orange-pinkey coral that I hv been trying to track down since it no longer exists!!! MACs See Shear, and Crosswires come close, and so does Bobbi Brown’s Guava. I don’t remember the name of the lipstick, but one day I will find it!!! Hello – I pronounce the word iron weirdly. Ask my friends. I think I say it like eye-run or something, I can’t personally hear it and I think they are crazy, whatevs.
I hate pronouncing the word “author”. I will repeat it several times in hopes that it will finally come out right. Instead, I sound like a loon and just give up.
The biggest talker in my life is a newer friend, but I love it! She’s loving and friendly and has a huge heart.
I think I’m the person I know who talks the most! It’s hard to get me to stop talking!
Happy Caturday! I hope you’re weekend is off to a good start. My mother talks almost constantly. She spends 5+ hours a day on personal calls on the telephone alone. She even talks in her sleep. It’s unbelievable.

I have to be careful when I pronounce the word Vietnamese, or it comes out Vietmanese, and I think that makes me sound like a kooky redneck, LOL!
I moved from England to NY so, there’s a lot of words I pronounce differently. A couple that spring to mind are garage and aluminium.

Hi Karen, I like Mac Studio fix Fluid, until recently I noticed it contains SPF 15 :O I used to apply SPF before my foundation but was surprised my foundation already had it, just a little bonus, and who knew Mac had a NW18 and that was my color, just goes to show you can never know too much. Mac keeps on surprising. Have a nice weekend!
My five-year-old son talks a lot. The only time he doesn’t talk is when he’s engrossed in something on a screen (and we try to limit that time, which means he talks a lot!).

The following is a true “story”. Seriously!
I was taking a shower with my hubby when, for no reason that I know of, I lost my footing. I grabbed the shower curtain in an effort to steady myself. My husband stared at me and told me to let go. I distinctly remember using a “bad” word or two and then I looked down. Turns out that the shower curtain wasn’t the only thing I had grabbed…a few hours later…our family doctor assured us that hubby’s “equipment” would be fully functional once the swelling subsided.

In high school, I was a cheerleader and we were a competitive bunch of cheerleaders. During on of our floor cheers, I did a toe touch and landed on my butt. We were all laughing so hard but we managed to finish the cheer perfectly, with my fall being the only thing that was screwed up. Talk about dedication! I still laugh about something that happened 16 years ago. But I had so much fun with all of those girls.

yes, once at school i won the best dressed girl’s award and i was so happy to get it, and i was gonna go home and on the stairs of the school, there was a gang og guys who was sitting there. those were you know those guys from the school that everyone avoids. so i tripped in front of them and ripped my dress. and they laughed so hard. i have never been so humiliated and appreciated on the same day like this. but oh well, i got an award 😛
My fave lipstick is Retsina by Bite. No matter how much my skin color fluctuates (see through ghost in winter to sun-kissed color in summer), it’s the most perfect nude ever! It looks great when I’m trying to look like I’m not trying too hard 😉 and when I am trying to look like I’m trying too hard.
I spent a lot of time mediating between cats last week. We have 5, and they don’t all get along. There are 4 males, all of them “found kitties”. The 2 biggest ones are always having stare-down contests. My little black boy just wants to play with all of them, and another of the boys is the sweetest cat ever, he never hisses, swats, growls, nothing. He just wants petted. He only has 1 eye and is very skinny even though we feed him a lot. I need my money to keep taking him to the vet to find out why he’s so skinny, so a MAC gift certificate would be great! Although I love all of these kitties, I just lost my 18 year old girl kitty in May and I still miss her so much. She never left my side if I was home so her absence is so noticeable. I try to distract myself by shopping online for pretty things.

Gah, I don’t think I can do a best lippie of all time, but my favorite at the moment is “Serenity” Hydra Matte liquid lipstick by Gerard cosmetics. It’s a pink with brown tones…perfect for everyday but the formula is what had me smitten. Not drying at all!

I had no idea I was saying it wrong my entire life, until I was in my mid-twenties and used it in a work meeting and everyone busted out laughing!! I could have slapped my mom in that moment!! LOL

my relationship with my ma was filled with angst, questions and repressed anger. We had a tough time communicating. Now she has advanced mixed dementia. I moved in to look after her. Suddenly all the angst and questions, anger have disappeared. They seem so iirrelevant in the larger scheme of things. I have no idea how or why this change occoured. But im grateful that life gave me a chance to drop the baggage which weighed me down!

I fell once on a blind date when I was trying to impress this funny guy with beautiful red hair. I dressed up in lovely little heels, great outfit but was wearing contacts for the first time Tripped at the cinema on the edge of the carpet and face planted right in front of Mr cutie He picked me up, brushed me down and asked if I was ok with a hint of laughter I burst into laughter and he did too and I married him 3 years later and we’ve been together for 18 years now 🙂

I have had acne on my face since I was 11 and now I have come to terms with it. When I wear some makeup, maybe just some lipstick and eyeliner, I love how my own focus goes from the acne scars and acne on my cheeks to my other accentuated features, and I feel good, instantly. I can’t take the trouble to cover up with foundation and concealer daily and what little I do does a lot for me. Magic of makeupa and doing a little something just for youself!

The Balm’s BalmShelter. I like the light coverage and usually I can smell the sunscreen in my moisturizer products (Kiehl’s, I’m looking at you!) but not in this one. I think it must be the titanium dioxide kind maybe?
Non-sunscreen fav for SPF are my lip balms! Don’t forget your lips need sun protection, too. 🙂
My Korean bb cremes contain 25 spf. I love that Koreans are so obsessed with bright skin – i’ts a really good spf to have for a bb cream
My younger brother talks enough to cover for both of us, as I’m usually the quieter one when we’re out and he’s a lot more social (and good on him, it’s certainly a desirable trait!).
My daughter can talk for England and I absolutely love it as you never know what she is going to come out with next.

Thanks again for another opportunity to win this amazing prize. The worst place I had tripped was at my college graduation. I had slid my sore feet out of my brand new heels while 1/2 listening to all the long winded speeches. I clearly wasn’t paying attention when my row was called up. My heels had cute little buckle straps on the sides of them. Well, needless to say, I didn’t have a chance to get my feet back into the shoes properly and there was no time to do so. As we were all walking, I was trying to wiggle my feet into the shoes just enough to walk without looking like I was drunk. That was a huge fail. As I was walking and wiggling my ankle turned outward and I tripped into the person in front of me. That person was pushed forward and so on down the line. I thought I had gotten away with it until everyone started to clap. Thankfully my degree is in Science and not in Fashion Design!!!

Oh boy, one of my coworkers talks a lot. Her stories are really boring because she includes every insignificant detail. Sometimes she gets sidetracked and starts rambling about something else, then remembers her original story. OMG. She also adds information that would normally be implied, if I was telling the same story I assume the person I’m talking to knows already. She’s a really sweet person, but sometimes I cringe when I see her coming because I know I’m trapped for a good 15 minutes.
Have you ever tripped or fallen at an inopportune moment?
I haven’t but my husband did. We were in NYC, walking around Rockefeller Plaza on a busy Sunday afternoon. He tripped on the curb. One second he’s walking next to me, the next second I looked over and he was on the ground! A woman sitting on a bench nearby saw him go down and she shouted “I just did that! Are you ok?” He was unharmed but mortified. He jumped back up and said “I’m fine” I’ve done other terribly embarrassing things.

For me Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Turn On is my color. I get compliments whenever I wear it. It’s not really a unique color but I guess with my coloring it works.

One of my favorites is “moot point” we say “moo point” (from Friends) there are others but I can’t think of them now. It usually comes from someone else mispronouncing something. Would like to go to a lake or the beach that is more secluded and private than the usual spots so I don’t have to look like I go to the gym and eat sprouts every day when I’m in my bathing suit. Did have tofu for breakfast. An instant breakfast option with no cooking involved.

I am such a klutz, so there are MANY tripping/falling moments! One of the most embarrassing though was back in high school. I was walking up the stairs with my crush, talking and flirting, yada yada yada, when my toe got caught on the top step. I completely ate it, and actually had to go to the ER and have my foot x-rayed. Everything was fine, I would have needed stitches but the skin was completely ripped off in the fall!

My favorite product containing SPF is Estée Lauder’s Day Wear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Sheer Tint Release Moisturizer SPF 15. Wow, longest name ever, but I love it because it makes me look less dead. Best lipstick? That’s a though one. I really like the Rouge Eclat in woodrose by Clarins. I always come back to it. Cruella by Nars is also great. But I am addicted to the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments. They are amazing in every single shade.
A word I pronounce differently is the German word for Thursday (Donnerstag). My dad came up with it some time ago. At first we pronounced it that way just to tease him, but now my whole family is stuck with it 🙂

I actually tripped and fell during a 12 mile obstacle course last year! The course is called Tough Mudder and like the name, it is full of mud and definitely tough! I tripped over my shoelaces about 10 miles in, but brushed it off no problem and finished, thanks to my family I participated with. 🙂
Urban Decay Lounge is probably my favorite lipstick of all time. Also, I love this day moisturizer that Cetaphil makes in spf 50.It’s great to wear surfing and running.

I can’t even begin to narrow it down to a single Best Lipstick, but I have been all about the Revlon HD ones this summer- best drugstore brand lipstick, for sure! “Hydrangea” is a lot of fun.

How long did it take for Tabs to adjust to being on a leash? We tried it on our cat over the weekend and she was not having it. it seemed to throw off her balance as she would take a half step and then fall over.
I love IT Cosmetics’ CC+ cream with SPF50 that’s all from zinc oxide and titanium oxide. I wear it every day instead of foundation and get lots of compliments on my skin.
Supergoop CC cream! has amazing coverage and SPF 35!! Love it. So underrated
my sister works in a dermatology office so I have lots of mineral sunblock. I use a tinted one as a foundation.
Colour Prevails CC creme has SPF and is pretty good.

This is tough, but there is one lipstick I can wear all year long, and I’m about to actually finish it (Gasp this never happens), it’s MAC Fashion City. Beautiful for spring, summer, and even fall, its wearable all year long! and very subtle yet beautiful. just a classic!

A few years ago, my husband and I worked like 3 blocks from each other, so we would meet up for lunch a few times a week. He asked for iced coffee on a hot summer day, so I bought us each one and headed over to his job. Wearing 4 inch heeled sandals and a short WHITE dress, my clumsy self tripped over a NYC sidewalk, coffee went flying ON ME, and I fell face down, ass up… in the middle of Rockerfeller Center. I rushed to his job, called my boss stating I felt sick and was heading home, and hailed a $40 cab home LOL

i really like the Algenist blurring moisturizing cream – it has spf in it but is kind of mattifying while making your skin look better all on its own. the spf is a bonus!
My mom talks a lot and so do I. On the other hand, my dad and my husband are good listeners, which is good 🙂
I tripped but did not fall at my high school graduation right before receiving my diploma. I do have to add that I did have a bad knee and was wearing heels.

My funniest trait is that when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom…I usually am still mostly asleep. And when I try to find my bed on the way back, I have walked into walls (hard), and have thought I felt the edge of my bed…and smacked my head on a dresser (I think)! I usually only remember hitting my head, and not really what happened before and after!!! LOL

I absolutely love MAC’s Chili. It kind of makes me feel like an old Hollywood starlet. It gives me so much confidence whenever I wear it. There are plenty of nicer lipsticks out there but this one just holds a special place in my heart.
First lipstick I bought for myself was MAC Viva Glam I. Still my favorite, such a great red (which is, not incidentally, my favorite color)! 🙂
