Excited About This! Sephora Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer

September 4th, 2015 by Karen 25 Comments

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw these new Bright Future Gel Serum Concealers at Sephora today.

So. Many. Colors! Twenty of them in all, which is an incredible range of shades, and they’re only $14 each!

What sealed the deal for me was talking to one of the makeup artists who raved on and on about them and how they don’t settle into fine lines but still provide complete coverage. I asked her if she thought they could handle real-deal dark circles, and she said “definitely.” She even said that she uses them sometimes in place of foundation.

Yes. I like the sound of that. 🙂

1) Bavarian Cream, 2) Meringue, 3) Fondant, 4) Butter Cream, 5) Parfait, 6) Madeleine, 7) Custard, 8) Palmier, 9) Sable, 10) Eclair, 11) Tatin, 12) Pecan Pie, 13) Creme Caramel, 14) Toffee, 15) Dulce de Leche, 16) Pot de Creme, 17) Chocolate Souffle, 18) Ganache, 19) Truffle, 20) Devil’s Food

I walked out of there with Pecan Pie and Creme Caramel, two of the lighter medium shades, and put BOTH of them on as soon as I got home. One under each eye. 🙂 Phase one of testing starts now.

So far, though, I REALLY like the coverage — it’s definitely full — and how they sit on my skin. They’re also easy to build up in layers, and like the girl said at Sephora, they don’t settle into my fine lines (#YASS).

I’m a little unsure about the colors I picked because I think they might be too yellow for me…but I’ll play around and maybe try layering them with a color correcting concealer.

Fingers crossed! Stay tuned…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I picked this concealer 2 weeks ago and I have been using it all the time. I am wearing it in the Cocktail Party look under my eyes and I am really impressed and I like it so much I temporarily ditched my Mac Prolongwear concealer! I am glad to hear you like it as well!

I searched these at the Sephora inside JCP the other day, and it seemed really good – I think I’m going to pick up Meringue.

I am perpetually looking for the perfect concealer. I’ll have to try these this weekend. I really like the Sephora brand.
I’ve been using Benefit Erase Paste but it’s a bit heavy and seems to take forever to blend.

I bought two one for highlighting and one as a day to day concealer (number 14, 15). I have not tried them yet but I have been looking on youtube and many of my woc friends have given good reviews.

OMG I have been waiting anxiously for your review on this. I went ahead and ordered online because my Sephora store didn’t carry it yet. and you know me…always wanting to try a new concealer….sooo based on swatches I saw online, I took the plunge and ordered # 10 (ECLAIR)…and I was quite happy with it. (For reference I’m an NC 42 I believe)
I’ve probably been using this for a month and love it so much…BUT now that I see your swatch for PECAN pie, I may just need to try it and see if I rather that because I do love me some yellow in my concealer 🙂

anyhoo, so happy you found this, and if you have any doubts, try out #10 or #11. sometimes swatching a color and actually wearing it under your eyes have a different result. Just sayin 😉

    Happy testing!

I read the reviews for this online and ran down to my Sephora to try. I’m very impressed! I swatched this next to my Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer shade and the Sephora brand definitely holds it’s own! I’m a NC 42 also and I picked up #10 Eclair as it was the best match to my Urban Decay concealer in Medium Neutral for use under eyes. Shade #11 also seemed in the ballpark but was a little paler as #10 has a touch more warmth. I’ve also worn NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger. I haven’t road tested my new Sephora concealer yet, but I’m very much looking forward to it!

So many colours! There aren’t enough affordable concealirs with a good, wide colour range. Sephora are in Australia these days, but nowhere near me sadly. I’d be interested to see if they stock this though.

Hmmm… I just got a sample size of the new Bobbi Brown serum concealer in my last online Sephora haul. Although I’m loving the BB sample, the Sephora version could be a good (less expensive) dupe. The one thing I love about Bobbi is that the shade “Sand” is a 100 % perfect match for me. Hopefully I can find the right Sephora shade out of this bunch!

I actually just came back from sephora on my lunch break and tested these out. (I’ve learned from you to swatch something, walk around the store and see how it settles!) and I was pleasantly surprised! I didn’t buy it as I’m currently on a concealer strike as I have 8 different concealers at home which have not been used up (hoarder!) but I may need to order one online. lol

*gasp* They have shades for very fair skin. I wonder how they hold up on oily skin. I’ll have to check these out next time I’m in Sephora.

I have been using the two lightest ones and love them! I think they are about the best at not looking very dry at the end of the day, and settling into lines.

    Hi Karen,
Have you tried IT cosmetics bye bye dark circles for under the eyes? That one is the best concealer I have tried and was wondering how it compares to this one. Thanks!

I actually think the IT Concealer has ZERO coverage (it didn’t cover a thing on me!) and is sticky–it was one of the single worst products I’ve tried in my 37 years on earth–so I’d say this is leaps and bounds better. But I am still returning this, because it doesn’t last very long.

Ok, I finally have played with this. I’ve tried several colors now but I don’t have a great color match.

It’s just ok. Coverage is OK, not any better than the Urban Decay. I compare it to the Nars, and I’d say it blends great. Staying power is mediocre, it definitely creases, and I am not someone that touches up so if it doesn’t stay put all day, that’s a negative. A huge strike is the applicator–it is HORRIBLE. It is just not good for swiping under the eyes.

I am likely going to take it back because the lack of staying power alone just drives me batty.

    Hi Karen!

I picked some of this up today in Tatin- perfect shade match- but when I opened the package it is really difficult getting any product off the doe foot. It’s super dry and only a little bit of product on the tip. The store sample was much more fluid. I’ve tried moving the wand about but no soap. Did you have this issue at first? I’m wondering if it was sitting too long in one place at the store. Blends beautifully, though.
