How do these compare to the NARS velvet matte lip pencils? Except for being twist-up, they look nearly identical.

      Hi Jessica,

To me these are more comfy compared to the NARS ones; these have a slightly thinner consistency which makes them glide across the lips a bit more smoothly.

I love lip pencils! But I have to stay strong, no lipsticks are in the budget before the holidays are over…

I love lip pencils too. So convenient. Good luck with the lipstick no buy!

The way they look on the lips reminds me of the new matte lip crayons by Lancome, as well as the Nars velvet mattes. I like both formulas and MAC being cheaper I really want to try them!

You should! These feel great on the lips. 🙂 What colors are you most interested in?

Yes, the NARS Velvet Matte lip pencils are my jam, too. How do these compare?

      Hi Alexis,

I like them both, but I think the MAC slightly ones are more because of the consistency. They’re thinner and they glide more easily across the skin, IMHO.

I like the brighter and darker ones. The lighter ones just don’t look good to me. These remind me of the e.l.f. Matte Lip Color lipstick pencils.

I feel ya, girl. I feel like some of the lighter ones wash me out too.

Happy holidays, by the way. 🙂 Are you finished with all of your holiday shopping?

Howdy! Happy Holidays to you, too. I’m almost done with my Christmas shopping. I’ve done most of it online. After my manicure and eyebrow wax this afternoon, I’m going to Barnes & Noble for some books my sons wanted. Then I just need a few gift cards and small gifts for my physical therapist, my sons’ friends, and hubby’s best friend’s kids.

We still need to do holiday food shopping, but we’ve got plenty of time.

What about you? Is all your shopping done? It baby girl getting some pre-natal gifts? 🙂

Good for you! I wish I could say I was done, but I’m not, le sigh. I’m going to do some last-minute online shopping today and tomorrow, and then I’m going to brave the mall (GULP) this weekend for a few things. At least I put the tree up yesterday, which is a little bit of progress! ??

Baby Girl is getting most of the gifts this year, because I told my family that I’d rather that they give her gifts instead of me. I have a feeling she’ll make out like a bandit so far, mostly in the clothes department.

Have fun getting a mani and a brow wax today. Will you be doing Christmas nails?

My tree is up and has lights and a star on top. We still have to do ornaments. The outside lights aren’t up yet.

I think it was very smart of you to ask for baby things for Christmas.

I got bright red sparkly nails with white and silver snowflakes and giftwrap & bow designs, with crystal accents. Very festive. I have to have my glitter!

Oh, how pretty (both the tree and the nails). You’ll be happy to know that some of my ornaments are glittery. 🙂 I have gold, red and purple glittery spheres!

We’re lagging on the outside lights too. Gotta do the windows tomorrow.

If you want, send me a pic of your nails! I’d love to see them. Mine are bare right now and need some love so maybe I can vicariously live through you, LOL. 🙂

Thanks for the introduction, Karen! I love that they twist up and that you don’t have to sharpen them. Oh Honey looks good. As does Aim to Please, ooooh! Love the finish also, very light and velvety indeed.

They twist up, but do they retract as well? Or is it just a one way mechanism? I love the NARS pencils, but the caps always fall off in my bag and make a mess. I like that I don’t need a sharpener for these.
I’m leaning towards Aim To Please, Just Add Romance and Reddy To Go. I’ll have to compare Anything Goes with Just My Type to decide between those two.

I’m sort of proud of the fact that they immediately reminded me of the NARS Velvet Matte since that seems to be the popular opinion. I might be getting better at this makeup thing! 🙂
