NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30 in Action!

January 8th, 2016 by Karen 22 Comments

There’s a video review in this post, but if it’s not appearing, you can click here to watch it on YouTube.

Well rock my world, why don’t you, NARS!? I’m officially in lurve with new NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30, and because it helps sometimes to see a product in actual action (I got ‘chu, visual learners!), here’s a video showing it do some work.

For a while now I’ve been all about skin that still looks like skin, and this new NARS tinted moisturizer offers just that. It does many of the same things as the brand’s epic Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer (blurs pores, evens skin tone, looks HELLA natural), but instead of a dewy finish, the finish is matte.

If you want a full review (including swatches of all 12 shades), check it: NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30 Makes Makeup Life Easier With Sheer, Natural Coverage.

How do you feel about NARS Pure Radiant, and, since we’re on the subject, how do you feel about tinted moisturizer in general? Inquiring minds want to know.

As always, thank you for watching!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Your skin looks so good with this! And you used so little product! I’ll have to check it out. I don’t usually have good color matches with NARS, and my skin’s quite dry, so I’ll try to get a sample.

I love Tabs the beauty thief. Mina steals things too, but I can usually find them.

I hope you find a color that works for ya!

Oh, by the way, Rachel R. (she comments on here often) might stop by to say hi to you. She’s a redhead like you and she’s looking for some brow filler recs, so I mentioned that you might be able to help!

I am about to run out of MAC Waterweight, so this might be my next try! I’m really feeling the less dewey look than my normal tinted moisturizers and face and body!

You look amazing! I’m definitely going to try this. I like that it isn’t REALLY matte. It truly looks like beautiful skin.

GAH! I’m loving it. I think I might have to hit up the counter for sample and see how it goes!

I’m definitely going to try this because of the matte finish. I’m not a fan of the Pure Radiance tinted moisturizer. It never sets and left my skin feeling greasy (I already have oily skin). My friend that has normal skin didn’t like it for the same reason. She also felt it was too oily and returned it for her usual Laura Mercier.

I like tinted moisturizers for work and easy makeup days where I don’t want to look done up but want my skin to look nice and still natural.

I hope I like this because I love Nars and their shades are usually more yellow than pink, which is important for me.

That’s exactly how I felt about Pure Radiance! It never “set” and seemed to rub off on everything. I’ve been going back and forth between It Cosmetics and Jouer for light foundation but I might give this one a try.

You look so fantastic wearing this. I need to try this. I’ve been wanting a tinted moisturizer or something that looks like natural skin. I could never get Pure Radiance to blend or sit correctly on my skin. Every time I would wear it my daughter would tell me my makeup was streaky.
I hear Chanel is coming out with a new foundation soon, too.

Did someone say matte finish? My oily t-zone just loves matte foundations. So, this will definitely be my next try!

Velvet and matte? Sounds totally amaze indeed! I love that the finish still looks like real skin. And that it’s not a dead flat matte.

I am all about Tinted Moisturizers for every day, even though my skin has a few areas that need coverage. But i don’t like the feeling of wearing foundation on my skin all day every day.

I love my Pure Radiant, but for summer I think I’ll mix it with this!! Do the shades (St Moritz) correspond exactly, Karen?

I’ve been wearing Bobbi’s Tinted Moisturizer since it first came out. I like the light-weight feeling. My skin is dry now and I always wear a hydrating moisturizer underneath. O have never used NARS products.

Your skin = gorgeous!! I literally just read about this today in the UK Glamour as the ‘it’ thing! The word “matte” jumped right out at me! I will be getting this tomorrow!!

I do have one tinted moisturizer, and it wasn’t for me…this NARS looks oh so for me!

Just watched your video (I read 1st), and a couple of things: congratulations on 31 weeks!!! You look so happy and healthy!!! 2) was hilarious when you apologized for your hair because right before that I thought “I love her hair like that!”

    Hsppy Saturday!

I want to love tinted moisturizers, but I just really need more coverage than they can offer me. I have the original Pure Radiance, and I really do like it on the rare (very rare!) occasion that my skin’s redness is calm enough to only need sheer coverage, but I think when/if I finish it I’ll go back to the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. I feel like it has more coverage and is, well, more moisturizing! But again, like I said, tinted moisturizer isn’t a product I reach for often.

I don’t normally like tinted moisturizers, but I received a sample of this last week, and I’m loving it!

Ok definitely time to spring for this, my Waterweight betrayed me travelling this weekend and I had to clean up my makeup bag, it leaked out from under the squeezey part of the lid!
