Win a $50 Sephora e-gift card!

I actually have to wash my makeup brushes today because I haven’t washed them since before I left for the hospital seven weeks ago.

[WOW!]

Yeah! But I haven’t been wearing a lot of makeup, and it’s weird — when you don’t wear a lot, you kind of get used to it. I mean, the other day I did full-on makeup, like foundation, concealer, brows, eyes, cheeks, lips — the whole kit and caboodle — and when I looked in the mirror, I was just like, “Who is this girl?”

Maybe I’m just used to seeing myself looking really tired…

Today I wanted to try another look with the Chanel Summer 2016 collection I mentioned yesterday. I’ve used all of the products so far, but there’s a green eyeshadow in the eyeshadow quad I really want to play with.

Also, in baby-related stuff, because a baby runs my life these days, I need to figure out how to collapse her stroller so I can get it in and out of my Mazda. And unlike my dad and my husband, I will actually read the instruction booklet instead of standing there for two hours grumbling, “I can’t figure this thing out!”

I do also plan to do some weekend-y stuff, like maybe rent a movie and leave the house at some point… Whatever you’re doing, I hope it’s fun. Good luck in the giveaway. 🙂

Also I bought the Maskcara palette for busy Mom of 3 mornings and it’s as easy to use as they said! Natural full face in less than 15 minutes. If I just need to run out the door I can do it in 5-10min 🙂

I was the first person in the world to have a copy of the “Diamonds and Pearls” CD. Even had it before Prince, his Royal Highness himself! SO for me, my favorite Prince song/CD will always be “Diamonds and Pearls”!

I was living in Hollyweird as an actress/model in the early 1990’s and dating a WB Records Studio executive, and I was in his office on the day the first CD’s were delivered to him. Even today, (though I’d never admit it to my Love), it is still probably one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten from a beau! For a very few hours I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world, being the only woman who had the CD I felt like Prince was singing just to me!

Color correcting concealers – some shades/formulas are helpful (Bobbi Brown, Becca, some green concealers for severe acne, etc.) but I still think the concept is getting gimmicky/overrated.

I used to be able to touch type like a champ.. you know, in the days of Nokia’s (siiigh, I miss my trusty 3200), Razr’s and just generally the phones where you had to press a number several times to get a letter. Yeah, I was queen of blind texting then. Now I’m lost without my “haptic feedback” (aka the vibration the keys make on smartphones) and auto correct. Also, my favorite Prince song is Musicology or more old school is Raspberry Beret. I’m so sad that the world has lost his talent, energy and funk. Too soon 🙁 I hope you’ll have a good weekend!

Your story remind me of when my best friend had her first baby and we were trying to figure out how to put the car seat in the back seat of my SUV. It was so complicated! Even though the instructions had pictures it took us forever. It was in the middle of winter and there were seriously gale force freezing wind gusts making the back seat into a wind tunnel. (Baby was safe and snug bundled up in the stroller.) We ended up laughing so hard we were crying!

If you rent a movie-skip Creed. We rented it last week and we were all pretty disappointed with it. It was really slow and a couple of things were unbelievable. I know it’s a movie but still.

If there’s one thing I don’t miss about the baby years besides the exhaustion–it’s collapsing the damn stroller. Good luck and may the force be with you.

I love color correcting concealers, especially under my eyes. I feel like I can get away with using less concealer even though I have to use two when I color correct. Oh, and I love purple rain! I change the lyrics and sing “purple nails” whenever I paint my nails purple, haha!

As a person who prefers subtle makeup, I hated it!

Also I’ve tried one color correcting NYX palette but when I tried to branch out and try some better stuff at Sephora the worker insisted yellow was not for dark circles ever, and pink or peach were the only correctors for the dark purple insomnia circles on my pale white skin. I’ve found pink and peach to make them worse ad yellow seemed to help so I just gave up on them after that.

Oh my goodness, your stroller story reminded me of an incident I had with my first baby. He was around 3 months old, and I decided we’d brave the mall by ourselves. We’d only used the stroller with Daddy present, but I was sure I knew what I was doing. We enjoyed a 1 1/2-2 hour trip at the mall, shopping for baby clothes, window shopping, etc. and he had been so well-behaved. I knew he’d be getting hungry soon, so we left and headed to the parking lot. I loaded his car seat into the vehicle, and returned to the trunk to fold up the stroller. Imagine my horror when I could not, for the life of me, get that damn stroller to collapse!!! After about 10 minutes struggling with the stupid thing, the baby began to cry, and so did I. ? I broke out in a cold sweat, kicked the stroller, and threw the whole stinking thing in the trunk- thank God I had an SUV with enough room! If not, it would’ve been wedged in the front passenger seat! I made sure I practiced closing the stroller about 100 times before going out alone with the baby again!

Wait, you posted a picture of the bebe in the car seat weeks ago and I think we have the same car seat/stroller combo. It’s really easy to close it! There’s a lever in the back in the middle that you kick upward with your foot, then a smaller lever on the right you push down on, and the whole thing will collapse. It took me a second to figure it out too, and to this day my mom thinks I’m crazy for being able to close it so fast.

(And to answer one of your questions, I’ve worked at an Italian restaurant for 14 years and can tell you for a fact that using a spoon to twirl pasta is considered gauche and amateurish)

Hey there pretty lady! ? SO… two quick answers: Kiss for favorite Prince song, and a big yes to typing without looking… unless I’m on a touch screen. on a real keyboard I can type my pants off, but when I get ahead of myself or go too quickly while not looking at an on-screen version everything starts getting auto corrected into random gibberish! I think it’s mostly because when I go to hit the space bar, 75% of the time I hit the letter N by mistake and then all hell breaks loose! ?

oh, and one last answer: color correctors don’t ever seem to work out for me. I’ve tried to use green to chill out the redness on my cheeks but I always just look, well, green. oh well! haha I actually started using Blanc de Chanel as a base instead, and even though it’s just white in color, (and then translucent, like lotion), it really helps with the red factor! woohoo!

Loved martinellis as a kid. We still give to our kids during the holidays while the adults have wine and champagne so they can feel fancy too!!

I tried using the sephora virtual lip color matching. It worked ok but I think some of the colors did not look the same when I swatched them in store.

Yes, I eat with a fork and a spoon when I eat spagetti or tagitelle dishes.

This weekend we had a hen part for one of my friends and it turned out really well. She was so scared of having to do something embarrassing infront of people but we just had a really nice time.

I love color correctors. I have some redness issues but I hate wearing full coverage foundation. I use one for dark circles too.

I may have already commented but I seriously can’t remember and don’t want to miss out!
I recently re-discovered a favourite foundation and I can’t believe it took me so long! Estee Lauder Double Wear is THE BEST!! I have tried so many foundations and have never really loved a particular one…until now! It goes on easy, is a nice buildable coverage, and it doesn’t go all splotchy on me! LOVE IT (and love your blog!)

I touch type on a daily basis, since it’s the main component of my job. I took typing as a “bird” course in high school and played piano as a kid, which both seemed to have been of some use!
I use a colour corrector on a daily basis for my dark under eye circles and darkness around my mouth. I’ve been using the MAC highlighter pen in Peach Lustre steadily for some time now, but based on a high end/low end comparison review by Jackie Aina on YouTube, I tried the orange colour corrector from L.A. Girl……thank you for keeping pennies in my wallet! Lol

Best thing to remember post baby, is never to lose yourself; so a little pampering/full faced ‘do’ is always a GOOD IDEA!! Right now, I am sipping on ‘lemonade’ ;D

I’ve tried using the virtual makeover app that InStyle has for different hairstyles, but I’ve never found it helpful since the color of the hair always looks so unrealistic.

ahhh so hard to pick a favorite Prince song – but I think i’d have to go with Little Red Corvette since it’s probably the first one I heard at my best friend’s house when I was younger.

I’m badly in need of a peach undereye concealer. Probably the UD Naked. And brushes, oh boy. I’ve discovered that I have never really ACTUALLY used a good brush. Like one that doesn’t scratch or shed. So I’m debating brands and types of those.
