MAC Trip 3 Neutral Lips: Swatches and Pics

April 27th, 2009 by Karen 35 Comments

mac trip 3 neutral lips

Um, do you remember the exclusive MAC Trip palettes we were talking about a few weeks ago?

As if they weren’t enough to drive me to drink: behold! Take a look at the 3 Neutral Lips Palette (*swoons*), another travel exclusive from MAC. Everything about it is rocking my world — the packaging, the colors and even the box.

mac-trip-neutral-lips-and-tabs

Neutral Lip is one of the three lip palettes in the limited edition collection (available at select airports this spring and summer). It includes one gloss and two lipsticks in nude colors.

  • Poetic License: a light, creamy peach
  • Expensive: a shimmery pinkish beige
  • Plastique: a shimmery, peachy bronze

Judging from Neutral Lip, I would be willing to bet the rest of the collection = fab. GAH! I wish MAC would release this collection in stores!

Evolution of style

ralph-lauren-dresses

Late last night while surfing the web before bed I found these dresses by Ralph Lauren. What do ya think? I think they’re hella cute.

I never thought of myself as an RL girl (I usually like clothes with more of an edge), but aren’t these elegant and springy? I’m having major dress lust right now! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

The white packaging on MAC is so cute! (As a packaging ho, I always have to stick stickers on MAC because I though they look boring…)

    Ohhh those are cute!
They wouldn’t look great on me though. Nudes tend not to.
Soft-vibrant pinks though, that’s my niche!

I’m loving those dresses, I love the idea of pairing a classic look with funkier shoes and accessories.

Won’t you be able to get those pallets when you’re at the airport to go to Hawaii? The neutral one does look pretty fab. I went to MAC today instead of working on school stuff, got a new foundation and a powerpoint pencil in Forever Green 🙂

MAC 3 Neutral Lip colors looks fantastic. A nude lip always looks great on me. I love the casing too! The perfect lip traveling case.

Hah! I always have to force myself to appreciate neutral lips! Usually I just grab Chanel’s Glossimer in Giggle and go!

Love the mock two-piece! Tres elegant!

Hi Karen, I really wish there was another way to get our hands on these products. I’ll be flying to Florida this weekend and I’ll definately be on the lookout but I’m going to be bummed if I can’t find them. That on top of the fact that my husband will be with me and he’ll be questioning me if I really need it. It’s so much easier to go makeup shopping with girlfriends and then sneak the bags in the house later. lol, As always thanks for the info!

      Hi Katrina,

LOL! That happens with El Hub all the time. He says inane things like, “Do you REALLY need another tube of pink lipgloss?” Of course the answer is always yes…

Whereabouts are you going? I was just in Florida for my BFF’s wedding in November. I went to Boca Raton and Key West. I *loved* Key West!

      Hi Catherine,

Thanks! You know, RL is soooo not usually my style, but those dresses are too cute. I want to wear them with strappy sandals and delicate jewelry.

      Are you feeling better today?

Ooh, I love these colors. Haven’t tried any of them before. Too bad I’m not going to be anywhere near an airport soon!

I’m not a huge RL fan either (I’m with ya on the edgier clothes), but I like the mock two piece dress. I love anything that looks like it came out of Joan’s closet on “Mad Men”.

      Hi Elle,

Hmm, maybe if you have friends traveling you can have ’em snag you some. My friend J-Money is going to Paris in June — you better believe I’m making up my beauty shopping list right now. 🙂

The trip palettes are amazing, I wish I could grap the neutral palette. In our ariport there is no MAC shop, and I will only fly to Menorca this summer, so I have to take a look on eBay I think.

Those lip colors are simply gorgeous. I love Plastique, although I’d need your lips to wear it.

I have a girlfriend who travels very frequently (3 or 4 times a month) for work, she’ll look for it for me but I need to know where to send her. Are there MAC stores in the duty free shopping areas? Or is there A (singular) Duty Free shop that is carrying them along with a gazillion other things?

I’m planning to make her a pictorial shopping list so there is no mistaking what she’s looking for.

I love Plastique. I got this color with a B2M last year & have been so pleased with it. I am actually wearing it today with some Explicit lipglass over it. Such a great neutral color. For those that liked What A Do from BBR, Plastique is a good dupe for when this LE lippie is all gone. I have both & when swatched side by side on my hand, you could never tell the difference between the two.

gosh, i love this collection so much. my mum will be coming back to Canada from an impromptu trip to India, so i’ve emailed her the eye palettes and lip palettes i want her to buy for me. i guess the best way would be to get her to check out the duty free shops after she lands in Canada (at Pearson International Airport in Toronto), as they might not have this collection at Indian airports. do you happen to know where i can find which airports carry this collection? is it only available in the States?

    Thanks Karen,

    H.

Plastique has a special place in my heart-it was my first ever mac product! along with a lipliner. I wore it to death way back in the day….(of college). I should actually pick up another tube-I don’t have one anymore. 🙂

I’m an avid reader. I bought the warm trip II palette about a month ago in Hong Kong airport (my hometown airport). So if there are any international readers out there – don’t worry – it’s not a US exclusive.

I think the rule of thumb is that in Asia and Europe only the largest and most international air hubs have MAC, and as long as there is a back you can get these pallettes. I saw Trip I (before my Mac addiction) last year when I went to Singapore’s Changi Airport. No MAC in Taipei’s Taoyuan this May. There’s a MAC in Heatrow London.
