The Lust List, Vol. 1: Stuff That I Kinda Want

March 22nd, 2017 by Karen 19 Comments

Ah, my makeup wish list/lust list is long and seemingly never-ending. Here’s what’s on my list and mind this week…

  1. Smith & Cult’s nail polishes in creamy grayish jade Bitter Buddhist and buttery pale yellow The Bee Side, which are $18 each.

Exit the Void was the color that officially converted me into a Smith & Cult fan. One coat of that is like three coats of any other nail polish. We’re talking REAL DEAL pigment, and now I want to try Bitter Buddhist and The Bee Side.

  2. Right now there are TWO of these extra large refillable metal palettes in my cart at makeupforever.com. They’re only $14 each, and I’ve got dreams of filling them with Kjaer Weis products. I’d like one for creams and one for powders.

I’d start the cream palette with Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Blossoming (because my pan of Sun Touched needs a friend) and the powder palette with Eye Shadow in Magnetic (because I gotta have ALL. THE. BROWNS.).

  3. Souffle D’ Eclat Finishing Veil, a loose powder from YSL, needs to stop tempting me… I heard about it from Candace Sheppard, a makeup artist on Instagram who I love for the glamorous (but not over the top) beauty looks she does. It’s for setting highlighted areas on your face, and I feel like I need it my life like yesterday.
  4. And I’m dying to try Stellar makeup at Sephora. It’s a new makeup line with foundations and highlighters and face products made specifically for medium skin tones.

Get this: they have all of the in-between shades for medium girls. STOKED.

  5. And lastly, this Drunk Elephant C‑Firma Day Serum, which I keep hearing good things about. It’s a vitamin C serum, and I have some pigmentation on my cheeks that I’d like to address.

I haven’t purchased any of these yet, but I’d like to. I’m seriously considering one or two of them.

What’s on your lust list now?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Ooh, I really like Candace Sheppard’s Instagram! I like how she’s able to do high-glam looks but still have her clients look like themselves.

I looooove the C-Firma. I just repurchased, actually. I have extremely fair skin with pigmentation issues from healing cystic acne, and it has made a marked improvement. Good stuff.
I’ve been eyeing those polishes, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Bitter Buddhist looks so gorgeous!

I really want to try some of the drunk elephant products too! I’m trying not to buy any fancy skincare products because since I’ve been using Apple cider vinegar my skin has been SO good and I don’t feel the need for serums etc but I’m always so tempted to try new things!!! The Sephora VIB sale should be coming up soon so there’s the perfect excuse to buy some new products ?

KAREN! I recently bought the KW blush in ‘Desired Glow’ and it’s great! It’s a mix between Sun Touched and Blossoming – also my faves. You need it in your life.

The new Benefit and Nars blush palettes. I am seriously lusting over both, but will maybe only get one.

The c-firma (and everything drunk elephant does) is pretty amazing, but hurts my wallet! And speaking of wallet-pain… I want the kjaer weis cream blush in Abundance… and i’ve wanted it for over a year!! ahhh! I’d like to try her lipsticks as well! 🙂

WHUUUT, you mean the brown, cafe latte to red eye coffee gals with weird green undertones finally have a makeup line with them in mind, too now?! 😀

I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to my beauty wish list, and sometimes I treat myself to one of the things. But mostly it keeps on growing…

I want to try Smith and Cult polishes too! I don’t have anything particular in mind though. I’m usually a skincare junkie; I just bought new stuff that is working for me, but I need more vitamin C serum. I’ve been using a Korean one. It’s a little harsh though.

The one I have on my fingers right now is holding up great! I’ve had it on for four full days and only have a couple small chips, which is a miracle for me.

What are some new skin care things that you like?

Stop thinking and buy the Drunk Elephant C Serum. It’s highly effective, elegant, and more affordable than other serums in its league. A+++ recommend!

That YSL powder is lovely, it gives such a beautiful soft finish. It isn’t a dull flat matte finish but has a very soft and discreet luminosity to it. I was overjoyed when I found it as I’d been searching high and low for a replacement for my beloved (discontinued) Dior Capture Totale loose powder and nothing else had come close!

Hi Karen, I’ve just been upstairs to check. I have shade 3, I really do love it, hope you will too if you give into your desires and it accidentally falls into your shopping basket. How does that happen, it happens to me all the time, hee hee?! ?

Thanks, Jane! I have plans to go to Nordstrom to swatch them, but I always like to know first which shades people use and love the most. If a jar happens to fall into my hands… WHOOPS! LOL 😀

I want the DE Serum too! I tried it at Sephora and it was great. No sting and played PERFECTLY under cream AND makeup.

The Drunk Elephant is seriously good, and half the price of Skinceuticals CE Ferulic…
