Unsung Makeup Heroes: The $5 Ardell Baby Demi Wispies False Lashes

April 27th, 2017 by Karen 9 Comments

Baby, I love you!

The long-running Unsung Heroes series here on Makeup and Beauty Blog features some of our all-time favorite permanent collection products.

Oh, lawd, when I see super dramatic lashes now at Ulta or Sephora I always think, “Those would make me look completely insane.”

Mind you, I’ve rocked big, real-deal false lashes many times before, and they’re fun, and some are more comfortable than others are, but at this stage in my life, after having not worn falsies very often for months, I feel like the big, flashy falsies make me look nuts, and that’s where these Ardell Baby Demi Wispies come in.

Girl, these are SO GOOD! And they’re only $5.

They’re like Ardell’s more famous and fabulous Demi Wispies (OH! I used to wear those all the time.) and have a similar shape, where the lashes are longer and flare out on the side corners, but the Baby Wispies have markedly shorter lashes overall.

They marvelously merge with my real lashes when I wear them and look darned near natural. I’ve seen people pause when they see my eyes, like they’re wondering, “Hmm… Is she wearing false lashes?” And I’d rather keep people wondering. 🙂 It’s funner than when they can tell right off the bat.

Love these!

I wore a pair for the first time last week with the Urban Decay Afterdark Palette, and they were just the right amount of lash for that look.

LOVE ‘EM.

Next time I find them on sale, you better believe #makeuphoarder mode will kick in. 🙂

Normally priced, though, they’re still a good deal. I know they’re available at Sally Beauty Supply for about $5 each.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’m feeling increasing pressure to try some false lashes! 😉 Can you remind me which lash glue is your fave?

Gasp!! These look right up my alley as someone who loves the idea of the iconic Demi whispies but finds them too much. *imagine me running to CVS like I’m in the Olympics*

These are really pretty and natural looking! I’ve never worn false lashes, but these look like a good place to start.

I have these and really like them a lot. They look natural but still make my eyes look bigger. I’m not into all the super long and dark false lashes that obviously look fake. These are a little hard to find in stores. But Sally’s usually has them in stock and I pick up several pairs when I see them.

I think these may be just what I’m looking for. Something to fill in my every thinning lashes without looking way over the top. I know individual lashes are good for this too, but patience is something I lack.
Would love to know what your favorite lash glue is, as well.

Oh, they are perfect! I have falsies, but after not wearing them for almost two years now I feel overdressed when I apply them. These look great to ease into false lashes again.

Sorry to comment on such an old post, but I was looking through your Unsung Heroes tag – what lipstick are you wearing? It’s so gorgeous and flattering!
