Countdown to National Lipstick Day on July 29th! Tom Ford Moisturecore Lip Color in Paradiso

July 24th, 2017 by Karen 11 Comments

Five more days until National Lipstick Day, Saturday, July 29th

Question: why isn’t every day National Lipstick Day? Because it should be. Every day should also be National Tubby Tabby Day, National Doughnut Day ? and National Black Stretchy Pants Day.

Every. Damn. Day.

But seriously (as if), National Lipstick Day ? is a thing, and it’s almost here! It’s Saturday, July 29th, and I’m kicking it off by wearing some of my favorite lippies, like this cutie from Tom Ford called Paradiso, a.k.a. the current BFF of my dry-lipped life, because it’s so moisturizing that I feel like I’m standing underneath a tropical waterfall whenever I wear it…

OK, so, maybe that’s a little over-dramatic, but it really is moisturizing, and look at that dreamy finish, ooh-la-la!

Paradiso is a smooth coral Moisturecore Lip Color in the four-piece Tom Ford Paradise capsule collection, an online exclusive available now.

Because it’s Tom Ford, I have to warn you… Take a deep breath (*inhales sharply*), because it’s $55.

I know!

But it’s massively more moisturizing than most moisture-rich lipsticks. The inner core is packed with potent passionfruit oil, and the outer lip color contains a blend of melon fruit extract and murumuru butter.

Tastes and smells like yummy vanilla, too.

Welcome to creamy coral p-a-r-a-d-i-s-e.

Paradiso on my lips, Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes in Burnished Copper on my lids, and Chanel No. 21 Healthy Glow Les Beiges Blush on my cheeks

It starts off with a hint of low-key shine, but it dials down quickly. After 15 minutes, it almost looks like a lip stain…or like Scarlett Johansson’s natural lip color.

I’ve been coveting an intense coral red like this for years. Yay, finally found it! Thanks, Tom, for doing this girl a solid. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Hey, I never knew this was a thing! Just yesterday, I happened to get a new shade from the Chanel Rouge Coco collection – Misia. Just in time, eh? 😉 It’s a bit weird…can’t really decide if it’s copper, orange, or red. I love it anyhow.
Never tried these ones from TF – was never sure how they might work, with the separate inner layer. But Paradiso does look great on you! Might give that range a go.

Yes, it’s a thing! Get your lippies ready!

Hope you’re doing well. How’s work?

Meh. I am putting off doing some coding. I don’t know what I was thinking a few years ago when I wrote a script (badly), and now I’m trying to decipher it, so I can reuse it. Ugh, typical. 😛
So yeah, the lippies are my friends in such times of need. And my brushes, let’s not forget the brushes… By the way, do you know about CD Japan? I’ve basically been buying Japanese brushes off there like there’s no tomorrow. And some of them, dare I say, put even my Tom Fords to shame. Pretty darn amazing…!

Ooooh how your blog has changed 😀 I’ve been away for too long, shame on me, tsk tsk. Love Paradiso on you, Karen, it’s such a fun juicy summer shade! I have it myself as well.

This is a hard to find shade! I bought this for my BFF as her birthday gift, and I had to stalk the Sephora website to see when they restocked.

WooHoo! National Lipstick Day! I can get on board with that! Wonder what color to wear? Actually, I’m already fretting my makeup for Friday which is my anniversary. Dear Husband said he was taking the day off and we’d spend it in The City, at the SFMoMA and out to dinner.

Wow Karen you are really on a coral roll, which just happens to be one of my favorite lipstick colors. From MAC I have Vegas Volt and Pretty Boys (thank you for the previous blog post on that), but if you say TF Paradiso is the mother of all coral lipsticks because of its moisturizing power, then maybe it’s worth the price. And I have to agree with the other posters, it looks beautiful on you. Have a good day!

Ahhh, I love all of your National Day recommendations! Love the lip and especially the eye color. I just got my first TF cream shadow and swooooon!
